In a way computers can be considered a technological revolution. Because they have “artificial intelligence”,they can simplify difficult sums, “think” logically and solve any difficult mathematical problem。

With the development of the network, computers have become very important in communication, finance and trade, and people all over the world can share their knowledge with others through the World Wide Web。

Nowadays boys and girls use their mobile phones to surf the Internet. In order to explore the moon and Mars, computers have already been put into space rockets. In a word, computers can nearly deal with most problems in life。

With the help of computers, the goal of human race will
be turned into reality。

However, just as a saying goes,“Every coin has two sides.” Personally, if you don’t use computers properly, something uncomfortable will happen. For example, computer games programmed by operators are so wonderful that a lot of young people love them very much. They even play the games day and night without going to school。

As a result, they failed in their lessons. Sometimes if you download something, viruses which can make your computer break down will arise。

Anyhow, if you have a computer, your life will be filled with happiness.

Surfing the Internet for fun will make you a better employee, according to an Australian study。

The University of Melbourne study shows that people who use the Internet for their own reasons at work are about 9 percent more productive than those who do not. Study author Brent Coker said, “Surfing the Internet at times helps increase an employee's attention.”
“People need to relax for a bit to get back their attention,” Coker said on the university’s website. “Having a short break, such as a quick surfing of the Internet, helps the mind to rest itself, leading to a higher total Internet attention for a day's work, and as a result, increases productivity (生产效率),” he said.
According to the study of 300 workers, 70 percent of people who use the Internet at work surf the Internet for their own reasons during office hours. Among the most popular surfing activities are searching for information about products, reading online news, playing online games and watching videos。

“Firms spend a lot of money on software to block their employees from watching videos, using social networking sites or shopping online,” said Coker。

“That’s not always a good idea.”
However, Coker said the study looked at people who surfed the Internet in moderation (适度), or were on the Internet for less than 20 percent of their total time in the
office. “Those who spend too much time surfing the Internet will have a lower productivity than those without." he said。

Good morning, everyone! It’s my great honour to be here to share with you my opinion on houses in the future。

I often imagine what houses in the future will be like. With the development of science and technology, houses in the future will be greatly different from what they are today。

Houses in the future will change their form and temperature as the season changes。

What's more, they will be able to save you money on heating, and prevent energy waste.
They will produce energy through their solar panels, which can be used to provide hot water, heat spaces in winter and aircondition the house in summer. Besides, they change their colour at any time to satisfy their owners。

In short, living in a future house will be amazing.

When you first step into a classroom, one of the first things to catch your eye is usually a list of rules. However, there’s one rule that you just can't help but question: No electronics. In reality, the classrooms in our school have_an_aversion_to modern technology, so electronic devices (设备) such as computers and cellphones are not allowed, for they are thought to have a bad influence on children's attention at class. However, is it possible that these devices could actually be used to improve our learning experience?
As is known to us, these years we have spent so much time talking about the disadvantages of modern technology that we've failed to see their advantages in a classroom。

Many people of the 80's and 90’s still remember learning about history by playing the game The Oregon Trail, and many of us 2000’s teenagers remember games such as Brain Age that encouraged our cognitive (认知的) development.
It doesn’t end with educational games, either。

Take Minecraft for example。

While a parent may complain (抱怨) that their child spends too much time playing the hit video game, what they probably fail to realize is that their child’s brain is being enriched with information allowing creativity and problemsolving。

Children who play on public or local computers may also pick up on social skills。

For older children, creating computer games can be a great introduction to coding (编码).Many schools have begun to bring the game into their classrooms.
In the end, it’s important that we welcome technological development in our classrooms and see the educational value in having fun。

School no longer must mean sitting down for hours in front of a pictureless textbook。

Instead, school can be a place where children are able to see learning as a lifelong experience.

As a little girl, one of my favorite family traditions was held on the first day of May. Along with my sister, my mother and I would make simple flower baskets by making paper into cones (圆锥形). Then, we filled the bottom of the cone with small candies before putting some flowers into it.
With our May Day baskets in hand, my sister and I became anonymous_gift。

givers. After hanging a basket on the front door of a neighbor or friend, we rang the doorbell and ran away. The goal was to remain secret givers.
Historically, the first day of May,often referred to as “May Day,” has been recognized as a celebration of spring, of life and growth. Parades (游行) and dances are ways that the day has been — and continues to be — celebrated in many parts of the world. Although formal May Day celebrations may be less common now, it is always worth celebrating。

Here are some simple and lovely ways to celebrate May Day in our homes and with those we love:
Making a May Day basket is always a great choice. Although the May Day basket we made as children was simple, the making of the basket was a joy in itself。

Consider making or buying some flowers for friends。

Fill the basket with a few sweets and write a note thanking your friend or neighbor for their kindness, their presence, and their love.
On May Day, we also take flowers to a local hospital or nursing home。

Flowers are always welcome in places that are too often full of sadness。

Stopping to have a conversation with a patient and thanking a nurse would be an additional gift — to the receiver and to us!
Besides, we always give friends small gifts to celebrate May Day. A small book or magazine with a note, an art print celebrating spring — the choices are endless。

When your friends are far away, an unexpected gift can reawaken friendship across the miles.

Ask anyone who lives in an apartment in a packed city and they’ll likely tell you space is among their biggest problems. Those living in even smaller rooms know the headache all too well. Some even pay money each month for storage as a result just to make more room。

Bostonbased company Ori is out to solve those problems with a system that uses robotics and apartment furniture to change small spaces in seconds。

The company's new system is also called Ori, which is named for the Japanese word “origami”, the art of folding (折叠) paper。

The new system makes your furniture change your small space from a living room into a bedroom and even a workspace with the push of a button (按钮).
Ori came from MIT's Media Lab, which works to help companies to create a better future for people. The company is working with developers Boston Properties, Skanska and Samuels Associates to put the furniture in high。

end apartments in Boston。

It is working with designer Yves Béhar on the furniture designs.
The Boston models are being rented (租用) on Airbnb, an online company offering people rentals, so Ori can collect information about what users think of the system and improve it in the future。

The system will be put on the market in the near future, said Larrea, founder and CEO Hasier Larrea.
All of Ori’s product (产品) is made in the US, and Larrea said the furniture is actually more expensive to make than the robotics。

Assembly (装配) is simple —the unit can be put together in just a day, Larrea explained。

The most difficult thing for this MIT team was making the system feel and look personal。
