Nanjing a city rich in history and culture has long been recognized as a center of literary excellence in China and across the globe Situated along the winding Yangtze River Nanjing has served as the national capital on multiple occasions throughout its storied past and has earned a reputation as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China During its time as a capital city Nanjing was a hub of scholarly and artistic pursuits drawing poets painters and intellectuals from far and wide to take part in its vibrant cultural scene This legacy of literary achievement has endured to the present day making Nanjing a world class destination for lovers of literature
