2013全国二卷英语作文

2013全国二卷英语作文The 2013 National English Exam Part 2 Writing was a challenging yet rewarding experience for me as a student. As I sat down to tackle the essay prompt, I felt a mix of nerves and excitement, knowing that this was an opportunity to showcase my English language skills and critical thinking abilities. The prompt itself was thought-provoking, asking us to consider the role of technology in our lives and whether it has had a positive or negative impact. This is a topic that I have given a great deal of thought to, as I have witnessed firsthand the profound ways in which technology has transformed our world. On the one hand, there is no denying the myriad benefits that technological advancements have brought to our lives. The ability to instantly communicate with people across the globe, access a wealth of information at our fingertips, and streamline countless tasks and processes has undoubtedly made our lives more efficient and convenient. Moreover, technology has opened up new avenues for learning, creativity, and personal growth, empowering individuals toexplore their passions and reach their full potential. However, it is also true that the rapid pace of technological change has brought with it some significant challenges and drawbacks. The ubiquity of digital devices and the constant bombardment of information can be overwhelming, leading to issues such as information overload, decreased attention spans, and a growing sense of social isolation. Additionally, the reliance on technology has led to concerns about privacy, cybersecurity, and the potential for technology to be used for nefarious purposes. As I contemplated these competing perspectives, I knew that I needed to craft a nuanced and well-reasoned argument that would demonstrate my ability to engage with the complexities of this issue.I began by outlining the key points I wanted to make, carefully considering the evidence and examples I would use to support my position. One of the central arguments I made in my essay was that the impact of technology on our lives is not inherently positive or negative, but rather a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that requires careful examination and thoughtful consideration. I acknowledged the significant benefits of technology, such as its ability to facilitate communication, enhance education, and drive innovation, while also addressing the potential drawbacks andchallenges that must be grappled with. For example, I discussed the ways in which social media and instant messaging have transformed the way we interact with one another, allowing us to stay connected with friends and loved ones across vast distances, but also potentially contributing to a sense of social isolation and a diminished ability to engage in meaningful face-to-face interactions. I also explored the ways in which the abundance of information available online has both empowered and overwhelmed us, leading to the need for critical thinking and information literacy skills to navigate this digital landscape effectively.Throughout my essay, I sought to strike a balanced tone, avoiding simplistic conclusions or sweeping generalizations. Instead, I aimed to present a nuanced and well-reasoned analysis that acknowledged the complexities of the issue and the need for a multifaceted approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by technological change. One of the key strengths of my essay, I believe, was the way in which I was able to draw upon a range of evidence and examples to support my arguments. I cited research studies and data points to bolster my claims, while also incorporating personal anecdotes and real-world observations to provide a more relatable and engaging narrative. For instance, in discussing the impact of technology on education, I referenced studies that have shown the potential of digital tools to enhance learning outcomes and foster greater student engagement, while also acknowledging the concerns about the overreliance on technology and the need to maintain a balance between digital and traditional modes of instruction.Similarly, in addressing the issue of privacy and cybersecurity, I drew upon recent high-profile data breaches and cyber attacks to illustrate the very real risks and challenges that individuals and organizations face in the digital age, while also highlighting the efforts of policymakers and technology companies to address these concerns.Throughout the essay, I strived to maintain a clear and coherent structure, with a well-developed introduction that set the stage for the arguments to come, body paragraphs that methodically explored the various facets of the issue, and a conclusion that synthesized the key points and offered a thoughtful, nuanced perspective on the role of technology in our lives.Ultimately, I believe that my essay on the 2013 National English Exam Part 2 Writing prompt was a strong and compelling piece that demonstrated my ability to engage with complex issues, think critically, and communicate my ideas effectively in English. While theprocess of crafting the essay was undoubtedly challenging, the experience of grappling with this thought-provoking topic and honing my writing skills has been invaluable, and I am proud of the final product that I was able to produce.。

2013年考研英语二作文The Importance of Persistence。

The importance of persistence cannot be overstated. It is the quality that separates successful people from those who give up too easily. In order to achieve our goals, we need to be persistent in our efforts, even when faced with obstacles and setbacks. One of the most famous examples of persistence is Thomas Edison. It took him over 10,000 attempts to invent the light bulb, but he never gave up. When asked about his failures, he famously said, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." His persistence paid off, and his invention changed the world.Another example of persistence is J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series. She was rejected by numerous publishers before finally finding one who would publish her book. She continued to write and rewrite, evenwhen it seemed like no one was interested in her work. Her persistence paid off, and her books have sold over 500 million copies worldwide.Persistence is not just important for achieving big goals, but also for everyday tasks. When we face challenges in our daily lives, it can be tempting to give up and move on to something else. However, if we are persistent and keep working at it, we can often find a solution to our problems. In addition to achieving our goals, persistence also builds character. When we persist in the face of adversity, we develop resilience and determination. We learn to overcome obstacles and setbacks, and we become stronger as a result.Of course, there are times when persistence is not the answer. Sometimes, it is important to recognize when a goal is no longer achievable, and to move on to something else. However, in most cases, persistence is the key to success. In conclusion, persistence is a vital quality for achieving our goals and building character. It requires us to keep working towards our objectives, even when faced with obstacles and setbacks. By being persistent, we can achieve great things and become stronger individuals.。

2013年考研英语二作文范文

The Power of Persistence and the Journey ofSuccessIn the fast-paced and often unpredictable world of today, the value of persistence cannot be overstated. The journey of success, whether it be in academics, careers, or personal goals, often hinges on our ability to persevere in the face of challenges and setbacks. The essay prompt from the 2013 graduate entrance examination for English II, which asks us to reflect on the saying "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall," serves as a powerful reminder of this truth. The essence of this proverb lies in the understanding that success is not solely measured by our achievements or the absence of failure. Instead, it is the resilience we exhibit when faced with adversity that truly defines our success. Falling is inevitable in life, whether it be in our professional careers, personal relationships, or even our dreams and aspirations. What separates the successful individuals from the rest is their refusal to stay down and their determination to get back up, stronger and wiser.Persistence, therefore, becomes the key ingredient in this recipe for success. It is the driving force that propels us forward, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles. It is the silent witness to our dedication and commitment, the silent testament to our belief in ourselves and our goals. It is the invisible hand that guides us through the dark, reminding us that every fall is merely a temporary halt in our journey, not a permanent end. However, persistence does not mean stubbornly sticking to a single path regardless of obstacles. It rather entails a flexible and adaptive approach, one that is willing to reevaluate and redirect when necessary. Persistence is about learning from our falls, about growing stronger and wiser with each experience. It is about understanding that success is not a destination, but a journey, one that is filled with both highs and lows, but ultimately leads us to our desired destination. In conclusion, the power of persistence lies in its ability to transform our falls into stepping stones towards success. It is the invisible force that propels us forward, even when faced with adversity. It is the silent witness to our dedication and commitment, the silent testament to our belief in ourselves and our goals. As we embark on our journey towards success, let us remember that the greatest glory lies not in never falling, but in rising every timewe fall, stronger and wiser than before.**坚持的力量与成功的旅程**在当下这个快节奏且充满变数的世界中,坚持的价值不容忽视。

(15 points)Historically, doctors were regarded as angels in white. But this categorization of medical profession has become a thing of the past. Today, the relationship between doctors and patients is becoming increasingly tense. In a number of cases, patients or their families are reported to have physically or verbally attacked their doctors and in one extreme case, a patient even stabbed his doctor to death in Harbin. How should we account for the conflicts between doctors and patients? First and foremost, the general public is no longer entitled to free medical care and the rising price of medical service becomes unbearable, particularly if it doesn’t produce the desired effect. Secondly, a considerable percentage of doctors are lacking in work ethics and even hint for favor fee at the moment of their patients’ agony. To make matters worse, with scanty knowledge in medicine, some patients can be easily instigated by some wicked people to violence against doctors.Sadly, the way our government has addressed this problem up to now doesn’t inspire optimism. To ease the tension between doctors and patients, we should definitely eliminate unethical conduct from the medical profession and reallocate medical resources so that people can obtain affordable medical treatment easily and effectively.Test 2Writing A (10 Points): Write a resignation letter to your manager Mr. Blaylock, informing him of your decision to go to a different city for professional development. Directions: Write an essay on the topic Pet Raising in Cities by following the outlinebelow:A)More people are raising pets in citiesB)People’s opinions on the practice vary.C)Your opinionYou should write no less than 150 words on ANSWER SHEET 2. (15 points)Long time ago, dogs were raised by people as hunting partners. But this canine function has completely changed today. Instead, people are keeping them as pets, especially in big cities. According to a report, about one third urban families raise pets like dogs or cats. Not infrequently, you can run into someone walking his or her dog in parks, along the streets either in the morning or in the afternoon. As regards this practice, opinion may vary from person to person. A lot of people take an understanding attitude. In their opinion, old people, with their children grown up and living separately, can take their pets as good life companions. Pet raising engages them in one way or another, which helps reduce their solitude. Other people think differently. In their eyes, dogs and cats are after all beasts. They may attack people physically and spoil our environments with their dirts. Besides, old people can enjoy their life more meaningfully by contributing to their community services. There is some element of truth in both opinions above. In my opinion, while pet lovers should not be denied the joy of keeping pets, they should also make sure that their passion poses no physical threat to other people and causes no harm to our shared environment.Test 3Writing A (10 points): Xinming Evening Newspaper is now recruiting a marketing manager. Write an application letter to the Human Resources Department, telling them your intention and introducing your qualifications for the job vacancy. You should write about 100 words on ANSWER SHEET 2Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter. Use “Zhang Wei” instead.Don not write the address.Writing B (15 points): Write an essay on the topic A Life Without Cell Phones by following the outline below:A)We are increasingly dependent on cell phones.B)What will our life be like if we don’t have cell phones.C)ConclusionNot long time ago, cell phones were gadgets meant only for the rich and powerful. But this has become a thing of the past. And as cell phones become increasingly affordable, we are also getting increasingly dependent on the device. In classroom, on the bus or in the metro, we always see people using cell phones for one purpose or another. As one of my friends puts it, cell phone is not just a piece of technology, it has become an integral part of us and our life. But what would our life be like if we don’t have cell phones? We would certainly have difficulty getting into contact with people, which is terrible to think about in times of emergency. And for many people, the fun in their life would be much reduced. But we would also feel liberated after work and during holidays, for without cell phones, our bosses couldn’t reach us for extra work. And instead of texting and checking our email, we could then see the real world or read books that really matter to us. More importantly, we would have more face-to-face talk and become better spouses and better sons or daughters. The discussion above indicates that cell phones have both merits and demerits. We should thus moderate the use of a cell phone rather than have ourselves attached to it. Everybody should keep in mind that like any other technology, cell phone is a good servant, but a bad master.Test 4Writing A: ABC Company is recruiting a cartoon designer. Your colleague Thomas Smith is applying for a job vacancy. Write a letter in his favor. You should write about 100 words on ANSWER SHEET 2Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter. Use “Zhang Wei” instead.Don not write the address.Writing B (15 points): Write an essay based on the following table. You should describe, interpret the figures and give your comments.Recently, a survey has been conducted on reading volume among 1000 people inShanghai. In 2006, 39% of them read 2 to 5 printed books and 21% read 5 to 10 book. But these percentages decreased to 37% and 18% respectively in 2012. Interestingly, these one thousand people’s electronic reading has increased from 13% in 2006 to 19% in 2012. How should we account for such changes within the 6 years?Such changes result from a variety of factors. First and foremost, most people, old and young, possess electronic reading devices such as mobile phones and i-Pad. As a result, they pull away from printed books as reliable sources of knowledge or information. Secondly, the fast pace of life and the heavier life pressure leave people little time or derpive them of the solitude for book-reading. Last but not least, paper books are also becoming expensive and thus buying and reading them makes less sense to more people, especially in this electronic era.Needless to say, this change in reading habit is not a good thing both for individuals and for the whole society. In my opinion, the public should be reawakened to the sensibility of readig and digesting books that are officially published. And the government is also under the obligation to create incentives for such meaningful activities.。

2013年英语二作文Title: Trust and Responsibility: Pillars of a Strong Society。

In the intricate fabric of human interactions, trustand responsibility stand as the bedrock upon which the edifice of society is built. Like the sturdy pillars of an ancient temple, they support the weight of relationships, commerce, governance, and every aspect of our collective existence. The significance of trust and responsibility cannot be overstated, for without them, chaos would reign supreme, and societal cohesion would dissolve into disarray.Trust is the adhesive that binds individuals together, fostering cooperation, collaboration, and mutual understanding. It is the belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something, an intangible yet potent force that permeates every interaction, from the most intimate personal relationships to the grandest global alliances. When trust is present, communication flowsfreely, conflicts are resolved amicably, and progress marches forward unhindered.Responsibility, on the other hand, is the flip side of the same coin, the obligation to fulfill one's duties, obligations, and commitments. It is the recognition that one's actions have consequences, not only for oneself but for others as well, and the willingness to accept accountability for those actions. Responsible individuals are the backbone of society, diligently carrying out their roles with integrity, diligence, and a sense of duty that transcends personal gain.In essence, trust and responsibility are symbiotic, each reinforcing the other in a perpetual cycle of reciprocal reinforcement. Trust cannot exist without responsibility, for what value is there in placing ourfaith in others if they cannot be relied upon to act responsibly? Similarly, responsibility loses its meaning in the absence of trust, for who would willingly shoulder the burden of accountability if they do not believe that others will do the same? The importance of trust and responsibility is perhaps most evident in the realm of governance, where leaders are entrusted with the welfare of entire nations. A government that fails to uphold the trust of its citizens, or shirks its responsibility to govern fairly and justly, soon finds itself facing discontent, unrest, and ultimately, revolt. History is replete with examples of regimes that collapsed under the weight of their own corruption, incompetence, or disregard for the principles of trust and responsibility. In the economic sphere, trust is the lifeblood of commerce, lubricating the wheels of trade and investment. When consumers trust that the products they purchase are safe and reliable, when investors trust that their funds will be managed prudently and ethically, and when businesses trust that contracts will be honored and disputes resolved fairly, economic prosperity flourishes. Conversely, in an atmosphere of mistrust and uncertainty, markets stagnate, investments dry up, and prosperity gives way to poverty. On a more personal level, trust and responsibility form the foundation of healthy relationships, whether between friends, family members, or romantic partners. Without trust, love withers, friendships fade, and families fracture. Without responsibility, promises are broken, commitments are abandoned, and loyalty becomes a hollow sentiment. It is only when trust and responsibility are present in equal measure that relationships can thrive, nourished by honesty, respect, and mutual support. In conclusion, trust and responsibility are the twin pillars upon which the edifice of society rests. Without them, the fabric of human civilization would unravel, leaving chaos and discord in its wake. It is incumbent upon each of us, as individuals and as members of society, to uphold these principles in our thoughts, words, and actions, thereby ensuring a future built on a foundation of trust, responsibility, and mutual respect.。

The sun was shining brightly through my window, but all I wanted to do was crawl back under the covers and stay there all day.As I stumbled into the kitchen, I realized that we were out of milk for my cereal. Great, just what I needed to start my day. I made a mental note to stop by the store on my way home from work.Work was a nightmare. My boss was in a foul mood, and nothing I did seemed to please him. I felt like I was walking on eggshells all day, afraid to make a wrong move and set him off.On my way home, I stopped by the store to pick up some milk. As I was standing in line at the checkout, I overheard a little girl talking excitedly to her mom about her day at school. It made me smile, despite my bad day. When I finally got home, all I wanted to do was relax and unwind. I poured myself a glass of wine and settled down on the couch with a good book. Sometimes, the simple things in life are the best remedy for a tough day.As I lay in bed that night, reflecting on the day's events, I realized that even though it had been a rough day, there were still moments of joy and happiness sprinkled throughout. They forged within me an unyielding belief in myself and my ability to overcome any obstacle that may come my way.And so, I carry the lessons of 2013 with me wherever I go, knowing that the pain and adversity I endured has made me a stronger, wiser, and more compassionate human being. I am forever grateful for the experience, however difficult it may have been, for it has shaped me into the person I am today.。

2013考研英语二作文It's been a long day. I woke up early this morning, feeling tired and groggy. I struggled to get out of bed,but eventually managed to drag myself into the shower. The hot water helped wake me up a bit, but I still felt like a zombie as I stumbled into the kitchen to make breakfast. After breakfast, I had to rush to catch the bus to work. Of course, I just missed it and had to wait for the next one. By the time I got to the office, I was already running late. I spent the whole day at my desk, staring at a computer screen and trying to stay awake in boring meetings. Finally, the work day was over and I could go home. I was looking forward to relaxing and maybe watching some TV. But when I got home, I realized I had forgotten to do the grocery shopping. So I had to drag myself back out to the store and pick up some essentials. Now that I'm finally back home, I can't wait to justcollapse on the couch and do nothing. Maybe I'll order takeout for dinner and just spend the rest of the evening being lazy. It's been a tough day, but at least it's over now.。

2013英语二大作文It was a hot summer day, and I was feeling incredibly bored. I had nothing to do and no one to hang out with. I scrolled through my phone, hoping to find something interesting to do, but nothing caught my eye. I sighed and flopped down on the couch, feeling sorry for myself.Suddenly, my phone rang, and it was my friend inviting me to go to the beach with her. I jumped at the chance and quickly got ready. The beach was crowded, but the sun was shining, and the water looked inviting. We spent the whole day swimming, sunbathing, and just enjoying each other's company. It was the perfect way to spend a summer day. After the beach, we went out for dinner at a new restaurant in town. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively. We laughed and talked for hours, enjoying each other's company and the good food. It was a great way to end the day.As I laid in bed that night, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the spontaneous adventure. It was a reminder that sometimes the best moments in life are the ones that happen unexpectedly. I went to sleep with a smile on my face, looking forward to the next spontaneous adventure that life would bring.。

2013全国二英语作文

2013全国二英语作文With the rapid development of technology, its influence on various aspects of our lives has become increasingly significant. In the field of education, technology has brought about profound changes that have transformed the way we learn and teach. This essay will explore the positive and negative impacts of technology on education and discuss how it has reshaped the learning environment.Firstly, one of the most notable positive impacts of technology on education is the accessibility it provides. Students can now access a wealth of information and resources online, which was not possible a few decades ago. Theinternet has become a vast library where students can find scholarly articles, educational videos, and interactive learning tools that cater to different learning styles and preferences. Moreover, technology has made education more interactive and engaging. The use of multimedia tools, such as presentations, videos, and animations, has made learning more dynamic and has helped to maintain students' interest and attention. Interactive whiteboards and educational software have also facilitated a more participatory approach to learning, where students can actively engage with the material rather than passively receiving information. However, technology also poses some challenges to education. One of the main concerns is the potential for distraction. With the prevalence of smartphones and social media, students may find it difficult to stay focused on their studies. The constant stream of notifications and the temptation to check social media can lead to a decrease in productivity and a lack of concentration during study time.Additionally, the reliance on technology in education can lead to a decrease in critical thinking skills. With the ease of finding information online, students may become less inclined to think deeply about the material or to develop their problem-solving abilities. This over-reliance onreadily available information can hinder the development of essential cognitive skills that are crucial for success in the modern world. In conclusion, technology has had a significant impact on education, offering both benefits and challenges. While it has made learning more accessible and engaging, it also presents the risk of distraction and a potential decline in critical thinking skills. It is essential for educators to find a balance between leveraging the advantages of technology and ensuring that students develop the necessary cognitive abilities to succeed in their academic and professional lives.。
