The Spring Festival

My favorite Chinese festival is the spring festival , it is celebrated on the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar.
Before the festival , our houses have to be cleaned and we need to buy new clothes for a new year’s coming.
On the eve, my family goes to my grandparents’ home for a reunion dinner. Our family usually has jiaozi, fish, niangao and a great many dishes.
On the first day of our New Year, people wear their new clothes and visit relatives and friends . That’s one of my favorite parts of this festival.
It’s my favorite festival because I enjoy spending time with my relatives .It makes me feel very happy and loved to be with my family!

The festival has a history of more than 2,000 years. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar. On that day, people watch exciting dragon-boat races and make delicious zongzi, a kind of special food made of rice and meat, wrapped in bamboo leaves. These two are both done in memory of Qu Yuan, a great poet in history.

The Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. It is often celebrated on August 15 of Chinese lunar calendar.
During the festival, family members often get together and have a big dinner. At night, they often sit in the garden, sharing mooncakes and admiring the moon.
A moon cake is in the shape of the round moon on the night of Mid-Autumn Festival, They carry people’s best wishes to the family members who are far away from home. There are many different kinds of moon cakes and they are very delicious.
When the Mid-Autumn Festival is near, shops are often beautifully decorated. Many
kinds of mooncakes are displayed for people to buy. People send presents such as wine, fruits and mooncakes to their friends and relatives.
