1. a born artist一个天生的艺术家
Messi is a born football player.
2.his best friend
good/well, better, best
最高级前除了加the以外,还可以加形容词性物主代词,如his
比较级前除了可以加much/even等以外,也可以加the(当总体只有两个的时候)
3.like to talk: like to do和like doing的区别
like to do表示意愿(意思类似would like to do)
She likes to swim this afternoon. 她今天下午想游泳。

like doing表示兴趣爱好
She likes swimming. 她喜欢游泳。

4.has impressed the whole country 现在完成时和一般过去时的区别
一般过去时表示在过去的某个时间点发生的事情
现在完成时强调过去发生的事情对现在的影响,不可以加明确表示过去的时间状语,如yesterday, five years ago
Some works of art in this museum were stolen last week.讲述上周被偷,但不知道是否找回。

Some works of art in this museum have been stolen.潜在含义是艺术品仍为找回。

5.art community:名词作定语
6.so作“所以”解时是conj.,需要连接两个句子,不能放在句首。

7.something better or different:后置定语
介词短语、副词作定语的时候一般后置
These are the roads leading to the beach.
On my way home, I was still angry.
不定代词的定语一般后置
I’m hoping for something good.
8.give up和give in的区别
give up放弃、抛弃、投降(give up sth.)
The police have given up all hope of finding the two drivers alive.
give in屈服、让步、上交(give in to sth.)
Don't give in to your fear.
9.however adv. 但是,然而(也作conj.),however后要加逗号
I tried. However, I failed.
10.made me unhappy: make sb. + adj./do(不定式)
make意为“使、让”,同let,但是let多用于祈使句中
11.either … or …两者中的一个
neither … nor …两者都不
当连接主语时,后面的谓语用就近原则。

Either you or he takes it.
Neither you nor I am right.
12.All of us know that …宾语从句
主语+谓语+(连接词that+)从句
I hope that I can be a football player as good as Messi.
三种情形不可以省略that:
(1)宾语从句的主语是that时
He says that that is a useful book.
(2)宾语从句中含有主从复合句时
I’m afraid that if you’ve lost it, you must pay for it.
(3)两个以上的宾语从句由并列连词连接时,只有第一个that可以省略
He said (that) the film was very interesting and that he enjoyed seeing it very much.
用连接代词/副词/if/whether引导的宾语从句之后再提,这里仅举例:
I wonder how you keep in touch with Tom.
He asked me if I liked watching TV.
注:判断用that还是if/whether还是wh-,是根据从句的语义,而非从句的形式。

13.it's necessary to pay attention to every detail.形式主语
当主语过长而其他成分较短时,用it作形式主语,而将真正的主语放在句尾。

用于现在进行时,表示一种语气,抱怨、赞叹

意义上的不同
Doctor Fang has done operations for about ten hours.
20.of sb. to do和for sb. to do的区别(课外阅读)
of:形容词为clever, kind, nice等描述人物性格特征的词,of后的人与形容词有主表关系。

for:形容词为easy, important等不描述人物性格特征的词,for后的人与形容词没有主表关系。

It is kind of you to help me.
It is important for us to learn English well.
