如何培养小学生良好的英语书写习惯

古人云,“字如其人”。
我们的日常学习、考试、工作及生活都离不开书写,即使在电脑打字广泛运用的今天,手写在一些场合仍具有不可替代的作用。
小学阶段的英语教学是启蒙性教学。
启蒙时期学习的东西,给人的印象最深刻,形成的习惯最难以改变,甚至对于一生都有重要影响。
良好的英语学习习惯的养成主要是靠教师的细心引导。
我们身为英语启蒙老师,对待小学英语学习的基础的英语书写教学,应当有计划地、有步骤、有方法地对学生进行训练,为他们进入高一层次的英语学
习打下坚实的基础。
一、小学生英语书写存在的问题
我认为目前小学生英语书写主要存在以下几点不足:
1.书写字母时弄不清字母书写的笔顺,几笔完成以及字母在四线三格中占的位置;
2.书写单词时混淆字母的印刷体和手写体,如把小写l写成大写I,把大写的J写成小写的l;
3.写句子时忘了首字母大写;
4.句末的标点忘记点或者把英文句号“.”写成中文句号“。
”。
5.句子中单词间距不合适或不均匀。
6. 在书写英文时,常出现直、方、角现象。
介于以上几点,我认为培养小学生良好的书写习惯是小学英语教学重要任务之一。
二、小学英语书写习惯的目标要求
书写英文时,纸稍向左斜放,纸的下边与桌面边缘成10°角,不要正放。
启发学生加强自我督促意识,保持正确坐姿,握笔方法。
特别要向学生指出,每个字母都要稍向右斜,斜度要一致(约5°)。
山东教育出版社出版的《小学英语》这套教材,从三年级第一学期开始接触字母、学习字母,要求学生能在四线格中正确书写26个字母;从三年级下学期开始进行单词书写练习;四年级第一学期开始要求学生能在四线格上书写句子;四年级第二学期要求在四线格上更加熟练地写句子,做到大小写、笔顺、词距、标点和格式正确。
五年级开始培养学生能够整齐、美观的进行短文的书写。
三、小学生英语书写习惯的培养策略
1.利用好榜样的作用
“师者,人之模也。
”要求学生养成良好的书写习惯,首先教师要给学生树立良好的榜样。
教师的书写对学生而言是一块样板,教师的示范性书写不仅要体现在新授课的板书之中,同时要体现在一切展现给学生的材料之中。
例如,教师在板书时,一定不能连笔,对于刚开始学习书写的三年级学生,要在
黑板上画出规范的四线格。
由于小学生模仿能力强,笔者发现,通过实物投影仪书写模仿的效果比让学生通过黑板板书模仿的效果要要好得多。
另外,对于那些写得漂亮的学生书面作业,就把它展示出来,并可能尽可能多地展示每一位学生的作业,让他们都能体验成功,也带动其他孩子加入养成良好书写习惯的行列中来。
2. 师生一起归纳书写技巧
教育家波莉亚认为:学习任何知识的最佳途径是由自己去发现,因为这种发现理解最深、也最容易掌握其中的规律、性质和联系。
儿童的想象力是很丰富的,三年级的时候学生可以自己在教师示范了几个字母的手势之后自己编出更形象的手势来。
到了四年级随着创造想象力的发展,学生们自己都能对字母进行形象的描述,孩子们对自己的描述更能加深印象。
如:有的学生说大写的G像一个小孩抱着膝盖蹲在地上,有的则说它像一只母猴坐在地上;当笔者问他们小写的f占几格时,有学生说它该顶天立地的,所以三层楼都让小f给占了(四线三格被学生形容成三层楼)。
下面都是学生通过想象总结出的一些生动有趣的字母形象:一把弓(D)、曲项向天歌的鹅(e)、小海狮顶球(i)、一把伞(J)、漂亮的蝴蝶结(k)、小鸡出壳(Q)、两个山谷(W)、两扇门(m)、隧道入口(n)、一个树杈(Y)等等。
结合学生的总结和想象,再在教室的英语
角粘贴英语字母书写的儿歌和口诀来加深学生对字母规范书写的理解和记忆。
在句子书写教学时,我就运用网上查询到的一首顺口溜来强调句子的书写要领:“头大写,尾标点,句号缩成小圆点。
词词分开别粘连,糖葫芦一串没法念。
”这样有趣生动的顺口溜形象地帮助学生更全面地掌握并铭记英语的句子书写规则。
总之,师生共同的总结比单纯由教师强调字母和句子的规范书写注意事项的效果和效率都要高得多,为学生的规范书写奠定比较扎实的基础。
3.运用“比较法”教学,分清易混淆字母
我在作业批改中经常发现小学生容易混淆以下字母:b和d,m和n,u 和v, v和r,i 和j, p和q,I 和l, 以及J 和l。
特别是学生搞不清印刷体中的大写的I和小写的l,甚至小写i和y的书写体与印刷体的区别。
因为教材中印刷体大写的I和小写的l都是直直的一根棍一样的立在单词里,所以一些学生抄出来的句子是Who’s your EngIish teacher? Wh a t is he Iike? l s he strict?如果说is的拼写还无原则性错误,那么,EngIish ,Iike和l s的拼写可就太离谱了。
如果我们在字母教学之初就开始采用比较法教学,学生到高年级学习时出现的抄写和拼写的错误就会大大减少。
4.开展多样化书写活动,保持学生书写的兴趣
小学英语教学的另一重要任务是激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣。
听说活动具有交际性和趣味性,学生比较乐于接受,
而书面作业,特别是抄写就显得有些枯燥。
所以,我们就定期举行英语书法展,优秀作业展等也能激发学生书写的兴趣,并使学生养成准确书写的习惯。
例如,每个学期,我都要在班级当中举行两次以上的班级书写比赛和书写PK赛。
并告诉学生优美的英语书写也是一种书法艺术,也是一种美。
让学生懂得自己在平时书写英语字母、单词、句子的时候,在完成日常的作业的时候,就是在创造美。
苏霍姆林斯基在《给教师的建议》中告诉我们:“你在任何时候也不要急于给学生打不及格的分数。
请记住:成功的欢乐是一种巨大的情绪力量,它可以促进儿童好好学习的愿望。
请你注意无论如何不要使这种内在的力量消失。
缺少这种力量,教育上的巧妙措施都是无济于事的。
”之所以摘录大师的这段话是因为班级里总有部分学生的书写形象跟不上一定的要求,在比赛中要落后一些。
为了不打击孩子们的积极性,对学生书面作业的评价 ,书面作业没有最低分和最高分。
我在批改学生的书面作业时,对有错误和书写不认真的,给的是A-或者是B;对那些书写正确而又漂亮的,打上A+等。
另外,在批改书面作业时,我除了给他们写一些等级,必要时,也用中文写上几句鼓励的话。
我还利用课前、课后零星的时间,经常表扬、鼓励那些作业整洁美观的学生,让他们成为班级中学习的榜样,带动一大批。
结合本年级英语学科的评价体系,让英语书写的习惯在评价体系中占到一席之地。
具体的做法是:连续
三次得到“Wonderful!”的同学能够得到一张书写小喜报,而这个喜报到期末时能作为平时形成性评价的一部分。
针对那些不能按时按量按质完成的同学,成立一个帮对的小组。
让四人小组长督促他们,以较高质量完成任务。
在班内形成一个共同提高的团体。
5.建立学生英语学习档案袋
在英语学科的档案袋里,放进学生自己认为满意的书写作业。
可以让学生们针对自己的不同阶段,了解进步情况。
之后,我请他们再给自己制订一下可行的有关英语书写的目标,重在原有的基础上有所提高,然后再向更高的目标努力,达到书写优美。
由于我们面对的是尚未成年的小孩子,自觉性和自我控制能力相对较差,在整个活动的过程中,难免有反复的现象。
作为老师,要能及时发现不良的苗头,巩固已有的成绩,鼓励孩子们向更高的目标努力。
这个工作是长期的,也是比较琐碎的。
但惟有持之以恒,才能有最终的成果,必须认真是予以对待。
英语书写教学不是一蹴而就的,以上几方面的操作也不是孤立的。
小学生学习英语,主要通过课堂教学形式。
所以,良好的英语学习习惯的养成主要是靠教师。
只要我们在英语书写教学中多实施一些活泼的、创新的方法,那么学生的英语书写水平一定能在宽松和谐的环境下愉快而迅速地达到既定要求,做到书写正确、美观,并养成良好的书写习惯。
