As mayor, I will focus great attention on the sustainable development of our city. To begin with, I will make every effort to accelerate the progress of economy development, creating more chances of employment. When it comes to the public transportation, it’s necessary for me to improve it so as to make it more comfortable and convenient for citizens to go out. In terms of education, not only will I invest more money in improving the conditions of schools but also set up a great number of schools of good quality. More to the point, as a green life is advocated, more parks will be built and more trees planted in our city, adding more beauty to our daily life.

Hoping to help their kids learn more, many parents choose micro-foreign study tours. But they’re expensive and not as helpful as expected, which leads to parents’ reconsideration about their value.

I have to admit that I’m the supporter of the author’s point of view. Though micro-foreign study tours do have their benefits, I find that their value fails to equal their costs. Moreover, it may bring some harmful effects, too.

I’ve never been on such a tour abroad, but I’ve received some ads about it. From the schedule of the tours, I found only a limited amount of time was to be spent on studying, while much more was devoted to sightseeing or shopping. Therefore, these trips are more a waste of time than a learning experience. In addition to the information I gain from ads, I’ve witnessed many friends of mine taking with them a large sum of money on their study tours. Just as what I had expected, they returned

with bags of souvenirs rather than their deeper understanding of the foreign culture. If the micro-foreign study tours are really like that, I’d rather go on a trip myself which is much cheaper.

My dreaming micro-foreign study tour must be meaningful and truly help with my self-improvement. I shall enjoy my learning experience in a historical foreign school. If possible, I prefer a life with a friendly host family.
