(1) When I was still a freshman in college, one Scottish professorcomplained to me about being overcharged at a grocery store. He explainedthat many business owners in China would assume that white “foreigners”are rich and unable to understand Chinese. My amiable professor, unwillingto start a conflict, would always pay the undue price even though he wasonly meagerly paid by my university and was able to speak perfect Mandarin. As a student of humanities, I’m particularly intrigued by theramifications of cross-cultural encounters entailed by the new era. Wehave to bear in mind that whenever we talk about the new era, there isalways an old era that keeps haunting us in various ways. Last year I wentto the University of Tokyo for a one-year exchange program. Before I left,my grandma seemed quite distraught and apprehensive: she told me to takecare of myself as if I was about to go to the battlefield. But we Chinese are not the only ones infested by outdatedmisconceptions. When I was bidding farewell to my American professor atan academic writing class in Japan, she stopped me and asked me, “Areyou really from China?” At first I thought she was pointing at my handsomeness, asking me whether I had been to Korea for plastic surgery.Well, clearly this is another stereotype that we should get rid of. Butto my disappointment, she was actually referring to my English skills.“I’ve never met any Chinese student who can talk and write like you do,”She said, “You must have been stayed in the States for some time, haven’t you?” It does seem that even a specialist in linguistics can’t escapethe illusion built up by the last generation of Chinese students: gaucheand diffident, unable to articulate themselves in English.Nevertheless, such stereotypes are becoming a thing of the past. When professors around the globe meet with an increasing number of students from China with both language proficiency and academic competence, well-qualified students will no longer be a surprise. Moreover, with more people going abroad and enjoying firsthand encounters with different cultures, people like my grandma will no longer be subject to the fossilized, antiquated narrative of the past. The interesting thing is, after I told my grandma my experiences in Japan, how clean, safe and beautiful their cities are and how nice, polite and considerate their people are, she gladly removed Japan from the list of least-want-to-visit foreign countries and put it instead to the most-want-to-visit one.Even the shop owner near my campus is now repenting for his peccadillo. When gradually more international purchasers become his patrons, he would no longer treat them differently. And he would even occasionally call out for them, yelling “come, come,”“cheap, cheap,”“thanks thanks” with a very strong Chinese accent. Meanwhile, my Scottish professor has now equipped himself with Wechat and Alipay, assimilating seamlessly into the local life here. The old era is like a cocoon, protecting us from possible dangers outside and providing us with warmth and comfort. However, an overreliance on memories and experiences of a long-gone past can also hinder us from genuine, meaningful interactions for the future, just as the cocoon can also serve as a wall to bar us from the beautiful world outside. But in order to make a brand-new attire or to build a modern silk road, we have to plunge the cocoons into hot water and obtain the silk despite the pain. So ladies and gentlemen, don’t be trapped by the old era. Transcend it, and embrace the new one.Thank you. (2) The struggle of the youth is the most beautiful奋斗的青春最美丽Friends, do you know what is meant by life? And what is meant bythe"struggle of the youth"? We know, there are many examples about the struggle of the youthappearingin the films we see, in the songs we listen, and in the friendswe meet.

Right before I got home, four satellite channels of CCTV were added to the 14 channels we had already had. In prime time at night, they all had interesting shows. Therefore, the five of us-my parents, my sisters and I-had to argue over what to watch. Finally, we agreed that we should watch the "most interesting" programme... If wecould agree what that was. However, all of us there remember that for a long time after we had TV, there were only one or two channels available. The increase in options reveals an important change in our life: the abundance of choice.Fifteen years ago we all dressed in one style and in one colour. Today, we select from a wide variety of designs and shades.Fifteen years ago, we read few newspapers. Today, we read English newspapers like the China Daily and the 21st Century, as well as various Chinese newspapers.Fifteen years ago, English majors took only courses in language and literature. Today, we also study Western culture, journalism, business communications, international relations, and computer science. The emergence of choices marks the beginning of a new era in China's history; an era of diversity, of material and cultural richness, and an era of the rebirth of the Chinese nation. We enjoy the abundance of choice. But this has not come easily.About 150 years ago, China was forced to open up its door by Western canons and gunboats. It has been through the struggle and sacrifice of generations that we finally have gained the opportunity to choose for ourselves. The policy of reform and openness is the choice that has made all the difference.Like others of my age, I'm too young to have experienced the time when the Chinese people had no right to choose. However, as the next century draws near, it is time to ask: What does choice really mean to us young people? Is choice a game that relies on chance or luck? Is choice an empty promise that never materializes? Or is choice a puzzle so difficult that we have to avoid it?First, I would like to say: To choose means to claim opportunities.I am a third-year English major. An important choice for me, of course, is what to do upon graduation. I can go to graduate school, at home or abroad. I can go to work as a teacher, a translator, a journalist, an editor and a diplomat. Actually, the system of mutual selection has allowed me to approach almost every career opportunity in China.Indeed, this is not going to be an easy choice. I would love to work in such big cities as Beijing or Shanghai or Shenzhen. I would also love to return to my hometown, which is intimate, though slightly lagging in development. I would love to stay in the coastal area where life is exciting and fast-paced. I would also love to put down roots in central and western China, which is underdeveloped, but holds great potential. All of these sound good. But they are only possibilities. To those of us who are bewildered at the abundance of opportunities, I would like to say: To choose means to accept challenge. To us young people, challenge often emerges in the form of competition. In the next century, competition will not only come from other college graduates, but also from people of all ages and of all origins. With increasing international exchanges, we have to face growing competition from the whole outside world. This is calling for a higher level of our personal development.Fifteen years ago, the knowledge of a foreign language or of computer operation was considered merely an advantage. But today, with wider educational opportunities, this same knowledge has become essential to everyone.Given this situation, even our smallest choices will require great wisdom and personal determination. As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important. As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.Nuclear power, for instance, may improve our quality of life. But it can also be used to damage the lives and possessions of millions.Economic development has enriched our lives but brought with it serious harm to our air, water and health. To those of us who are blind to the consequences of their choices, I would like to say, To choose means to take responsibility. When we are making choices for ourselves, we cannot casually say: "It's just my own business. " As policy makers of the next century, we cannot fail to see our responsibility to those who share the earth with us.The traditional Chinese culture teaches us to study hard and work hard so as to honor our family. To me, however, this family is not just the five of us who quarreled over television programmes. Rather, it is the whole of the human family. As I am making my choices, I will not forget the smile of my teacher when I correctly spelled out the word "China" for the first time, I will not forget the happy faces of the boys and girls we helped to send back to school in the mountains of Jiangxi Province. I will not forget the tearful eyes of women and children in Bosnia, Chechnya and Somali, where millions are suffering from war, famine or poverty. All these people, known and unknown, make up our big human family. At different points, they came into my life and broaden my perspective. Now as I am to make choices for myself, it is time to make efforts to improve their lives, because a world will benefit us all only if every one in it can lead a peaceful and prosperous life.

I am a Howell School’s girl and I am an outgoing girl too, so I like playing jokes with others.I am fourteen years old and I have learnt English for six years now I’ve loved English since the first time, I’ve heard it from a tape. The voice from the tape was very wonderful and the language was so nice .That time I thought, how wonderful the language is! And if I can speak English as well as the speaker in the tape, that will be amazing! So I asked my mum:“Can I learn English I really love it!” “Of course you can,but are you sure about it Can you insist on it” She was a bit excited. “Of course I can, mum. I love it very much,I want to learn it. ”I said confidently,“Oh,my good kid,you are very good,I am so excited about you are interested in English. ”Shegave me a sweet hug. We laughed together. Then,I’ve started my English learning way.At the beginning,I loved English because it soundscomfortable ,but I can’t believe that how difficult to learn English grammar. Then I felt tired, and I really want to give it up. Buton that main time,my English teacher found me was a bit strange,“What wrong with you,ViritaYou look a bit strange.” “Nothing, I just think English grammar is so difficult. It is boring,I don’t want to learn it anymore!” “WhyYou can’t give it up,Virita. I can help you just trust me.”“Really” “Of course!” Then she helped me with my English grammar after class everyday. We’ll love each other more and more. This is the story with English and me.Thanks for listening. 4Dear friends:If you can dream it, you can do it.——Walt DisneyIt was a long four years. Even after I had actually graduated, the nightmares began to haunt me, the university would call to say I hadn’t truly graduated. There had been a mistake and there was just one more class I needed to take. I was always so relieved to wake up and realize that it had only been a bad dream. In reality, I had completed every course needed for my degree, and I was a full-fledged college graduate! Now, the rest of my life loomed ahead of me. Sometimes abachelor’s degree prepares you for a specific occupation——youtrain to be an accountant, you graduate and get a position in an accounting firm. Often, however, your stint in college only prepares you to make further decisions regarding your future. You’re pretty sure what you don’t want to do!During my senior year of college, I had toyed with the idea of changing my major. At that point, I had finally discovered what captured my heart. But, wanting to finally be finishing school was a stronger pull. So, I took a few courses in physiology and exercise science, but not enough to receive a degree in physical therapy. That would require advanced schooling, beyond my bachelor’s degree——and I just wasn’tready to tackle that. Having completed my B.C. degree, I didn’t have any intentions of furthering my education. So, I did the safe thing and got an office job——the very thing I was sure that I didn’t want to do! I detested the office policies, the suits I had to wear and the downtown environment that I had to drive to every day. I knew this was not where I belonged. But god knew what path my career was to follow. A position opened up at the most exclusive health club in our city, so I applied. This was my kind of environment——an active, vibrant kind of place——completely at the opposite end of the spectrum from the office environment where I found myself. The position required that I work Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Perfect, I thought! I could keep my office job Monday through Friday and work at my dream job on the weekends. This arrangement lasted several months until, eventually, a full-time position opened up and I was able to resign from my office job.Over the next few years, I worked my way up the leader, gaining experience in several different departments. I found my niche as the director of member services——catering to our clientele and providing them with numerous cutting-edge programs. I would have stayed at that job forever——it seemed to be the pinnacle of all my dreams fulfilled. Here were fellow employees who had a passion for the same things that I did——health and fitness. Yet again, god had other plans for my life.Within two years, a newer, bigger, better and more state-of-the-art health club facility was built——just five miles down the road. And, in turn, the owner lost many members tothat club. And, in turn, the owner lost thousands of dollars. One by one we were each laid off. After trying unsuccessfully to land another similar position elsewhere, I knew what I had to do. Go back to school!thanks! 5Dear teachers and mates:We are in a constant state of trying to get something better and different. We are often trying to be someone different, even when the current us is pretty decent. If you are not happy being you, then who else can you be In each person s life, will meet a lot of individual who will impacted themselves. Some people teach you a lot of things. Some may give you a lot of encouragement As for me there are also some people inspired me.But the most great impact was my dear father. When I was a little girl,I often want to give up study instead play games. Then my father will told me Perseverance is the golden key to being successful in anything you do.It s a matter of hanging on long afte others have quit .When I was a teenager I like to make track for a star, and like images like, including dress etc. Then my Dad alwaystell me that Be what you are, not what you aren t,because when youare what you aren t,then you aren t what you are .All of the things are inspired me so much.Sometimes,I think my father was a philosopher, sometimes think he is a activists, always set an example for his child ,do what a father should do.He is always working hard to feed large family, he isalways considerate to forgive his naughty children, moreover he filial piety to the old person,to repay parents brought up. In a word, he always so good.Of course he s not a iron man,he also has a fragile, but he never lose self, and perseverance. What s more, when I meet with sometroubles and want to give up, he always encourage me.I still remember what he told me perseverance overcomes almost everything. When you fall, perseverance tells you get up.When you aredefeated, perseverance tells you to try again .When you feel like quitting, perseverance doesn t let you .Nowadays, I am an adults, and as a college student,I always unavoidably depending on my father, I often call to my father to ask some questions, meanwhile I also want to know how are they recently I start my college life followed with my fathers edification.Because of my dear father,I know how important to be myself.I have to be true to myself, because the only important thing in life is what you do with the time on spend here in earth. So I ll always be optimistic and happy in the following time. Also,as my father told me,just be perseverance to do everything. So that I can do anything I wish to create my future!Father is like a lighthouse, guide me in the direction of the future.I hope I could owning a wonderful future, and my father will company with me forever!thanks!

A Scene to RememberGu QiubeiShanghai International Studies UniversityAdvisor: Gong LongshengGood afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical 1) therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a 2) census about mountain 3) gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of 4) poaching and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies.Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks. All these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the UnitedNations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment. Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9) plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10) invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care. Because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because the y know it still belongs to them. This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it's all coming from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish. The other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else. a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seem to have been except the deer. And all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it's lime for us to do something, for our own and our coming generation.Once again, I have come to think of Mrs. Dian Fossey be- cause it's with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world. And no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.Thank you very much.。

1honorable judges, fellow students:good afternoon!recently, there is a heated debate in our society. the college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. but will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? will we be able to better the lives of others? will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?the cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. but the cynics are wrong. the college students i see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. we help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.the cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth.last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. i believe in all my fellow classmates. though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish.i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take onour responsibilities. we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. i believe in our future. 2once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: “hey, chicken! watch out your leg, it’s out!” the ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: “ shi…i am going to trip that elephant.”right now, i’m standing on this glamorous stage. but everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressful night, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i don’t remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that i’ve been through i’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again. 3As the song goes “ My future isn’t a dream .” I love the song which brings me confidence when singing it every time . I believe that all our dreams can come true if we have courage to pursue them .When I was young my father always asked mewhat I would be in the future . Sometimes I found it very hard to give a certain reply . “ I want to be a doctor .”“ I want to be a teacher .” and “ I ’d like to be a scientist !” Many of these answers are perhaps very childish and ridiculous . But I never think they are far away .How time flies! Who is able to give a definition to his future ? I know clearly that those high buildings are based on solid foundation . As a student , I should have a reasonable aim , and study hard . My goal is to enter the best university for further study after middle school . I know it’s hard work , and I ’ll come across many difficulties and frustrations . But no matter what they are , I’ll keep working on it and never give up . My teacher says there ’s only one kind of people that are truly successful : those who are brave enough to put up with hardships . Even if I won’t achieve the goal , I have no regrets for what I have done , for I have struggled for my life . 4 I Love You, China!Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I’m very glad to make a speech here. Today my topic is “I love you, China.”Since the day I was born, I began to have a proud name—Chinese. Since the day I began to talk, the most beautiful sentence I’ve ever learnt has been “I love you, China!”I love you, China, and I’m so proud of being a Chinese. I’m proud that I’ve got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. I’m also proud that I speak the most beautiful language in the world—Chinese.I love you, China, for I can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. Last year, I got an opportunity to visit the United States of America. During my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. While at table, he looked at me and asked: “Little boy, how long have you been in America?”“About a month,”I answered, “How lucky you are!” he said, “If you were living in China, how couldyou learn such perfect English?” I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn English at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “I’m proud of you, China. For you are offering us the best education.” When I came back from the USA, my friends asked me: “How do you feel about your staying there?”“Wonderful” I said. “Then why do you come back?” Hearing this, I told them there were lots of beautiful countries in the world, but none of them can compare with our own country—China. How true the saying is: “There’s no place like home!”I love you, China. As a young student, all we should do is to study hard and devote ourselves whole-heartedly in the future, to the great cause of building you into an even stronger and greater country in the world. I love you, my dear motherland! I love you, China!Thank you for your listening ! 5 On March 14th, 2021, professor Stephen William Hawking passed away. His contribution to inflationary cosmology has forever shifted our understanding of the universe. He wasn’t just a physicist for England, but for all mankind. His death marks the end of an era. He has passed the baton to a new generation of minds, to a new era. The exploration of nature waits for no man. So, are we ready to embrace the new era and new challenges? When I was a kid, professor Hawking was known to me as the author of A Brief History of Time. I bought a lot of science books back then, but they were really difficult to understand. Whenever I stumbled, I would turn to my physics teacher for help. We would go through pages and pages of materials together, whether it was middle school stuff or Feynman’s lecture from Caltech, sometimes hours on end. I felt like we were tearing off the mask of nature and staring at the face of god. It was his guidance that encouraged me to study physics today. We’re living in an era in which science is embedded in people’s lives. From teachers who pass on knowledge, to constructionworkers who build labs; from organizations that provide funding, to scientists who conduct research, we all contribute to science in our own unique ways. We the people say we’re ready. On October 5th, 2021, China finally had its first Nobel Prize in natural science. Ms. Tu Youyou’s work and her receiving the most prestigious science award made us proud. We’re living in an era in which China is building some of the best research projects and institutions worldwide. Just a month ago, Professor Zhang Miman won the UNESCO for Women in Science Award, making her the fifth Chinese recipient of this honor. A week after that, The Economist referred to China as “a continent-sized rapidly growing economy with a culture of scientific inquiry”. Physicist and vice president of the Chinese Academy of Science, Dr. Zhang Jie stated, “China now has the most accurate, sufficient and largest amount of data; China has the highest, fastest and best ability of data analysis. The Chinese government will be strongly pushing for the sharing and utilization of data resources.” We as a country say we’re ready.Science is an immortal topic of mankind. We’ve come this far because we’ve learned to work together and let the ideas evolve. The dispute over the completeness of quantum mechanics, for example, was resolved in the 5th Solvay conference, attended by 29 physicists from 10 different countries who have won 15 Nobel Prizes combined. That was almost 100 years ago. Now we’re living in an era in which information is transmitted at the speed of light, in which “International cooperation” is not just a slogan anymore, especially to the scientific community. Chinese Academy of Science now has 47 partners overseas. The International Council for Science now includes 122 national members, 23 scientific associates and 31 scientific unions. The facilities of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, or CERN, are available to over 600 universities and institutes around the globe. We, the world, are more than ready. We’re all made of particles that have existed since the beginning of the universe, I’d like to believe those particles traveled through countless eras to create us,so that we, the people, China, and the world, can stand on the shoulders of giants, march into the new era with our head held high, and make people like Professor Hawking proud.

英语演讲比赛演讲稿(8篇)this is no surprise though if you look at the insights of contemporary psychology. it turns out that we cant even be in a group of people without instinctively mirroring, mimicking their opinions. even about seemingly personal and visceral things like who youre attracted to, you will start aping the beliefs of the people around you without even realizing that thats what youre doing. and groups famously follow the opinions of the most dominant or charismatic person in the room, even though theres zero correlation between being the best talker and having the best ideas -- i mean zero. so ... (laughter) you might be following the person with the best ideas, but you might not. and do you really want to leave it up to chance? much better for everybody to go off by themselves, generate their own ideas freed from the distortions of group dynamics, and then come together as a team to talk them throughin a well-managed environment and take it from there.now if all this is true, then why are we getting it so wrong? why are we setting up our schools this way and our workplaces? and why are we making these introverts feel so guilty about wanting tojust go off by themselves some of the time? one answer lies deep in our cultural history. western societies, and in particular the u.s., have always favored the man of action over the man of contemplation and “man“ of contemplation. but in americas early days, we lived in what historians call a culture of character, where we still, at that point, valued people for their inner selves and their moral rectitude. and if you look at the self-help books from this era, they all had titles with things like “character, the grandest thing in the world.“ and they featured role models like abraham lincoln who was praised for being modest and unassuming. ralph waldo emerson called him “a man who does not offend by superiority.“but then we hit the 20th century and we entered a new culture that historians call the culture of personality. what happened is we had evolved an agricultural economy to a world of big business. and so suddenly people are moving from small towns to the cities. and instead of working alongside people theyve known all their lives, now they are having to prove themselves in a crowd of strangers. so, quite understandably, qualities like magnetism and charisma suddenly come to seem really important. and sure enough, theself-help books change to meet these new needs and they start to have names like “how to win friends and influence people.“ and they feature as their role models really great salesmen. so thats the world were living in today. thats our cultural inheritance. 英语演讲竞赛经典优秀演讲稿篇五英语演讲竞赛即兴演讲篇六英语演讲大赛英文篇七good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! The poet said: spring flowers to the door pushed open.I said:Thanksgiving to the door pushed open the living. Teachers are our growth, are our friends, teachers care for us , their words and deeds, let us benefit for life, we pay for teachers efforts and sweat, we should Thanksgiving teachers. Students study the lives of our fellow students to encourageeach other, help each other, to jointly overcome difficulties and setbacks, the common taste of success and happiness learning, we should be grateful for every day and we accompanied the students. Thanksgiving-Fighting, Thanksgiving unlimited! Students, and Society Thanksgiving! Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams. However,we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well asordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions. Well, just start with concrete objectives and stick to it. Don’t let the nameless fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of f→.←uture. Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance and through our creativity, we will make it.Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go,life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.Thank you!。

1Hello, everyone. Today you grateful?! There are many kinds of Thanksgiving, for example, as I was in the song sings, we must be grateful parents, parents gave us life, education of our talent, so that today we are happy to work, happy life -- and it is the happy life, help me, to today's topic --" Happy Thanksgiving".Lamb kneeling milk love, crow regurgitation-feeding affection, always haunt me, cry, I think. As a new generation, we still need to advocate Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving has given us life and moral cultivation, health attitude, ahead of the happy life. Inspired by this, I again see: winter night for my mother in the sewing, the 1000 hand-million lines woven I give, tears of excitement moment by condensation, I just want to love a sound: Mom, you worked hard!So grateful people would complain, he will live happily forever in love shining sunshine! In the face of the darkness, he will march forward courageously; in face of failure, he will Yuecuoyueyong -- because he firmly believe that: as long as the sun, the shadows behind him; because he knew: there is no sunlight, no direction, no parents, no our wonderful life; no company, we will not work happy; no gratitude, the world will become cold and no longer cute ......In fact, life is a mirror, you laugh it also laugh, you cry it is also crying. You are grateful to life, your life will be given to the sun; you blindly blame everyone and everything but not oneself, the result can only be all wasted! Often with a heart of gratitude, can purify our hearts, to enhance our mind, to shape our character, to do a" advance despite difficulties, optimistic and hard work" happy tumbler; in this way, you can do: the encounter of love setbacks, do not give up; meet the frustrations of life, don't worry; meet work hardship, not afraid ......In our heart a kind of Thanksgiving mind, let the world be full of love flowers! Thanksgiving so that we sincerely facing life, enthusiasm to others, frankly accept love. Thanksgiving is not a reality escape, is also a kind of singing way of life, because it comes from a deep love and hope for life. Grateful people must be beautiful, accept the gratitude of the people must be happy. 2We are all flowers of the motherland, we should be proud of the motherland, and become proud parents! We should learn from the past five thousand years of ancient Chinese history and culture, we should always bear in mind: "Uphold science and proud of Ignorance!"However, when the twenty-first century, when the flowers bloom, Wing shame been written down. Students to see themselves around it, when the test papers for each level of fat down, the number of man-made low-scoring cheers, how many faces of ignorance for outstanding students in the ridicule. Everyone in the look in their own thinking around how many do not learn all day idle, idle ignorance of believers! When the flowers open, a great number were black. And when that black garden flowers in bloom all over the motherland the moment, five thousand years of Chinese civilization will be in the hands of our generation, become a cultural desert, five thousand years of glorious history of the Chinese nation will bein our generation who was buried was one thousand two net! This is the Future Star, which is the flower of the future! From .Future Star of the light is slim, is no light; future bright flowers are faded, is declining!Star ah, flower ah, that is, we ah!Let us work together, eliminate the black flowers, take off those dark evil star. Ignorance of them will be eliminated by the community, they will eventually be fixed in history as an utter!Fellow students, let us act, bred, learning to be human, let us grow up healthy and happy, let the red flowers in bloom proud twenty-first century!Thank you! 3First ask a simple question: we come from? Sure everyone will say that we are parents to put up the world. Ah yes, ten years ago on a certain day, our parents with happy tears and smiles to greet our arrival. Thus, we have a life, has in this colorful world of enjoyment of life and happiness Happiness opportunities.Looking back to think about this carefully, we have been bathed in the love of the river Parent: When we first father mother shouted when the first step towards independence when the first to write a word askew when their parents are ... ... well at around to teach us. When we are faced with difficult and can devote all to help our people, are parents; when we are wronged, to patiently listen to our cry of the people, are parents; when we make mistakes, we can not hesitate to forgive U.S. person, are parents; when we succeed, we would like to celebrate the pleasure to share with us people, but also their parents. Parent's love, such as deep sea, the situation than the sky! If we say thatlove is a ship, carrying us from childhood to the juvenile; then love is a sea, and give us a Happy Harbor. If the mother's true feelings, ignited the hope of our hearts; then his father's love, it will be to muster our voyage of sailing! Therefore, regardless of parental social status, level of knowledge and other qualities, they are our biggest benefactor life, are worthy of our love of the people forever! However, students, and ask whether you have: We are thinking of their parents and how much? Attention than their parents whether it's birthday? Folk saying goes, there is: the birthday child's mother suffered day. When parents for our birthday celebration, we thought it used the death-like suffering, in return for our life mother? Given our lives whether or not bred mother say Sincerely blessing it? According to information available: there is nearly 50% of students do not know the birthday of their own parents, let alone a birthday blessing for parents. Students, perhaps simply nothing out blessings, but for parents, this is nothing more than pleasant to say, are beautiful, are unforgettable, are sufficient to enable them to tears!Of course, the hard work of parents is that we can not understand, although we should not live with their parents to share the hardships and difficult venture, but we are living in a smaller study on parents for us to worry about. To know that even if an interest in words, a cup of hot tea to quench their thirst, a satisfactory examination, a knowing smile, Parent, who will comfort the hearts of our anxiety in every possible way. Thanksgiving Parent, is not hard to do!Students, let us bear in mind the parents owe, Parent Institute Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving with a heart to deal with parents, with a sincere heart to communicate with their parents, not to re-think parenting is a matter of course, not to indulge in cable complained summation. Dear students, let usParent said: "Dad, Mom, I love you!"Finished my speech, thank you everyone!

The Power of DreamsGood afternoon, esteemed judges, teachers, and fellow students. When we are young, we dream of becoming superheroes, astronauts, and rock stars. As we grow older, we may start to believe that those dreams are out of reach. But I am here to tell you that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. My dream is to become a doctor. It is a long and challenging path, but I am determined to see it through. I have spent countless hours studying, volunteering at hospitals, and working to save money for my education. But my dream is not just about me. It is about making a difference in the world. As a doctor, I will have the power to heal and comfort those who are suffering. I can help to make the world a better place, one patient at a time.I believe that we all have dreams that are just as powerful and important as mine. Maybe your dream is to be a teacher, a scientist, or a social worker. Whatever it is, I urge you to hold on to that dream and work towards it with everything you have.Because the power of dreams is not just in achieving them, but in the journey we take to get there. We learn and grow in ways we never thought possible, and we inspire others to pursue their own dreams. So I challenge you today, my fellow students, to think about your own dreams. What do you want to achieve in this life? And what are you doing right now to make it a reality?Believe in yourself, work hard, and never give up on your dreams. They have the power to change the world.Thank you.2. The Importance of Taking ActionGood afternoon, esteemed judges, teachers, and fellow students. We all have ideas and dreams for our lives, but there is a key ingredient that is vital in turning those ideas into reality: taking action. It is easy to get caught up in the safety of our comfort zones, and to feel paralyzed by the fear of failure or the unknown. But the truth is, nothing will ever be accomplished unless we take action. Think about some of the greatest innovators and leaders in history. They did not accomplish their feats by sitting on their hands and hoping for success. They took risks, they went outside of their comfort zones, and they pushed through any obstacles in their way.But taking action doesn’t mean that we hav e to suddenly jump off a cliff and hope for the best. It simply means that we take small, measurable steps towards our goals every day. It means that we are intentional about our priorities and are willing to do whatever ittakes to make progress. For example, if your dream is to become an artist, start by practicing your craft every day. Create a portfolio of your work, network with other artists, and put yourself out there. If you want to be a writer, start writing every day, and submit your work to publications or start a blog.Whatever it is, take steps towards it every day. Believe in yourself, surround yourself with positive influences, and never give up on your dreams. In conclusion, I encourage you to take action towards your goals and dreams today. You are capable of achieving great things if you are willing to take the first step.Thank you.3. The Power of KindnessGood afternoon, esteemed judges, teachers, and fellow students. In a world that often seems divided and angry, it can be easy to lose sight of the power of kindness. But I am here to remind you that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a huge impact in the world around us.Kindness is not just a feel-good sentiment; it is a powerful force that can transform lives. A simple smile or a kind word can make all the difference to someone who is struggling. It can brightentheir mood, their day, and even their entire outlook on life. But the benefits of kindness extend far beyond those who receive it. Showing kindness can improve our own mental health, reduce stress, and even boost our immune system. So I encourage you, my fellow students, to cultivate kindness in your daily lives. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture; it can be as simple as holding the door open for someone, complimenting a classmate, or volunteering your time to help those in need. And kindness is not just for our friends and loved ones. It is for everyone, regardless of their background, beliefs, or opinions. We are all human, and we all deserve compassion and kindness. In conclusion, I urge you to make kindness a priority in your life. Through small and simple acts of kindness, we can create a ripple effect that spreads throughout our communities and makes the world a better place.Thank you.。

Today, I want to talk to you about the power of kindness. Kindness is a quality that we can all possess, and it has the ability to make a huge impact on the world around us.First of all, let's think about how kindness can make a difference in our daily lives. A simple act of kindness, such as helping a classmate with their homework or holding the door open for someone, can brighten someone's day and create a positive atmosphere. When we are kind to others, we not only make them feel good, but we also feel good about ourselves. Kindness can create a ripple effect, inspiring others to pay it forward and spread positivity.Furthermore, kindness is essential for building strongand supportive communities. When we are kind to our classmates, neighbors, and family members, we create a sense of unity and trust. Kindness can break down barriers and bring people together, regardless of their backgrounds or differences. In a world where there is so much division and conflict, the power of kindness is needed now more than ever. Finally, I want to emphasize the impact of kindness on the larger society. Acts of kindness, no matter how small, can contribute to creating a more compassionate and empathetic world. From volunteering at a local charity to standing up for someone who is being treated unfairly, each act of kindness has the potential to create positive change and make the world a better place for everyone. In conclusion, kindness is a powerful force that has the ability to transform our lives, our communities, and our world. Let's all strive to be kind to one another and make a positive impact, no matter how big or small. As the saying goes, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Thank you.。

On March 14th, 20xx, professor Stephen William Hawking passed away. We would go through pages and pages of materials together, whether it was middle scho ol stuff or Feynman’s lecture from Caltech, sometimes hours on end. I felt like we were tearing off the mask of nature and staring at the face of god. It was his guidance that encouraged me to study physics today. We’re living in an era in which science is embedded in people’s lives. From teachers who pass on knowledge, to construction workers who build labs; from organizations that provide funding, to scientists who conduct research, we all contribute to science in our own unique ways. We the people say we’re ready. On October 5th, 20xx, China finally had its first Nobel Prize in natural science. Ms. Tu Youyou’s work and her receiving themost prestigious science award made us proud. We’ve come this far because we’ve learned to work togethe r and let the ideas evolve. The dispute over the completeness of quantum mechanics, for example, was resolved in the 5th Solvay conference, attended by 29 physicists from 10 different countries who have won 15 Nobel Prizes combined. That was almost 100 yea rs ago. We’re all made of particles that have existed since thebeginning of the universe, I’d like to believe those particles traveled through countless eras to create us, so that we, the people, China, and the world, can stand on the shoulders of giants, march into the new era with our head held high, and make people like Professor Hawking proud. When I was still a freshman in college, one Scottish professor complained to me about being overcharged at a grocery store. He explained that many business owners in China would assume that white “foreigners” are rich and unable to understand Chinese. My amiable professor, unwilling to start a conflict, would always pay the undue price even though he was only meagerly paid by my university and was able to speak perfect Mandarin. As a student of humanities, I’m particularly intrigued by the ramifications of cross-cultural encounters entailed by the new era. We have to bear in mind that whenever we talk about the new era, there is always an old era that keeps haunting us in various ways. Last year I went to the University of T okyo for a one-year exchange program. Before I left, my grandma seemed quite distraught and apprehensive: she told me to take care of myself as if I was about to go to the battlefield. But we Chinese are not the only ones infested by outdated misconceptions. When I was bidding farewell to my American professor at an academic writing class in Japan, she stopped me and asked me, “Are you really from China?” At first I thought she was pointing at my handsomeness, asking me whether I had been to Korea for plastic surgery. Well, clearly this is another stereotype that we should get rid of. But to my disappointment, she was actually referring to my E nglish skills. “I’ve never met any Chinese student who can talk and write like you do,” Shesaid, “You must have been stayed in the States for some time, haven’t you?” It does seem that even a specialist in linguistics can’t escape the illusion built up by the last generation of Chinese students: gauche and diffident, unable to articulate themselves in English.Nevertheless, such stereotypes are becoming a thing of the past. And he would even occasionally call out for them, yelling “come, come,” “cheap, cheap,” “thanks thanks” with a very strong Chinese accent. Meanwhile, my Scottish professor has now equipped himself with Wechat and Alipay, assimilating seamlessly into the local life here. The old era is like a cocoon, protecting us from possible dangers outside and providing us with warmth and comfort. However, an overreliance on memories and experiences of a long-gone past can also hinder us from genuine, meaningfulinteractions for the future, just as the cocoon can also serve as a wall to bar us from the beautiful world outside. But in order to make a brand-new attire or to build a modern silk road, we have to plunge the cocoons into hot water and obtain the silk despite the pain. So ladies and gentlemen, don’t be trapped by the old era. Transcend it, and embrace the new one.Thank you. Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen,By the time we are born onto this land, our own Chinese story begins. On the frontpage, wrote one of the earliest Chinese stories, taken from the Great Learning: “If you can do something new, then let it happen every day. With perseverance, every day becomes a new day.”It was the moment when I realized that there has been something unchanged in the new era: that is always equipping ourselves with the new ideas and keep in pace with the time which never waits. Thank you very much! My grandpa was among the first group of English teachers sent to Australia by the Chinese government in the 1980s, when our country first opened its door. Off the plane, a hospitable Australian taxi driver asked him, “Where are you going today?” “Where to die?” My grandpa was shocked. With very limited access to authentic English, he had no idea of the Australian pronunciation for the word “today”.My mom was much luckier in the 1990s when she went to college. She had recorded tapes of BBC and VOA news to listen to. When she stepped on the soil of England, she was much more confident. The first day after arrival, hungry and tired after a long flight, and with a Chinese stomach longing for hot food and drink, her only wish was to have a big breakfast. The British waitress approached her asked with a British accent completely comprehensible to her well trained ear, “Madam, would you like a Continental breakfast or an English breakfast?” Well, the European continent is much bigger than England, so must be the breakfast. She responded: “Continental Breakfast, please.” The waitress took the order and Mom was very satisfied about herself until she discovered the tiny breakfast of cold milk and iced juice, instead of fried bacon and also fried sausages.I went to an American university for a summer program last year. After watching a movie, I decided to take a bus back to my apartment. However the bus didn’t arrive as scheduled. After waiting for about 20 minutes in the darkness, I was very uneasy and also scared. I stood there, staring into the direction which the bus should come from. But there was no bus but a street singer singing some unknown songs with his noisy guitar. The wind brought a feeling of chill, and as more and more stores closedand fewer and fewer people passed by, I couldn’t help shivering in the cold darkness. Suddenly, a piece of familiar music flowed into my ear. It was the best-known Chinese folk song: the Jasmine Flower! He was playing the Jasmine Flower with his guitar. Automatically, I tuned my Chinese ears to the familiar and nostalgic melody, with my heart warmed and my eyes wet. He played that music again and again until the bus came and I went aboard .From strangeness, misunderstanding to cross cultural resonance, it takes three generations. The driving force behind the change is globalization, which offers opportunities for cultures to meet, to break down barriers between countries, and to bring peoples together. When the Chinese folk song played by an American street singer got me through coldness and fear, I also came to realize that intimate connection brought about by globalization and also cross cultural resonance can also help the world get through difficulties and disputes.Ladies and gentlemen, if you would ask me whether globalization is enough, I will definitely say “no”. Globalization is a powerful force available to us, enabling people to communicate, to help, and to warm, just like what the American street singer did to me at that cold and dark night.英语比赛演讲稿篇五“Globalization is a conspiracy.” my South African friend, Nuhu, once told me. I was in a shock while he explained, “It’s a game that we’re forced to play by the rules set by the superior westerners.” And by learning about the drive of the original globalization, the primitive accumulation of capital, I’m convinced that enough is enough. The unequal, violent exchange should have been enough since a long time ago. However, what we do see today is that China has risen up by selling our products around the globe and learning advanced technology from others. And Africa is also believed to be the next China, another economic hub in the near future. So, although this might be an unfair game to play like what Nuhu claims, what he fails to see is that globalization is the very ladder for nations, especially those at the bottom of the global hierarchy to climb up. This win-win globalization is not enough. We can have more of it.But what is the backlash? We have been fearing that the tide of globalization, the outpouring of western values will undermine our own. So when the global stage is not hearing a lot from the Chinese culture and not to mention the African culture, I guess Nuhu is onto something. The globalization that amplifies some cultures while extinguishing the others should have been enough since the very beginning. And yet that’s not the whole picture. We see that our traditional works like Sun Tzu’s Art of War being worshiped by businessmen around the globe makes us start to relook at it and appreciate it again. And the Nobel Prize awarding for Moyan’s literature leads us to reflect on the development of our villages. So in the past, only we, Chinese people protect and pass on Chinese culture; but now, the international scholars, professors or even just ordinary people all over the world who get interested in our culture are preserving it. The uniqueness not well-protected by us transforms into the diversity universally-respected by global citizens. It is because of globalization that China and its culture are truly on a global stage. So globalization is actually an on-going process that keeps surprising us while startling those worries and fears. It’s adynamic system that we should look for ways to utilize and enhance. But with the Brexit and the success of Trumpism, it seems major countries are all shifting away from globalization. But just because they are slowing down, making turns and adjusting themselves instead of peddling up, it doesn’t mean they are going for anti-globalization.We are at an unprecedented point where the world becomes ever so connected that we need to figure out the boundaries and balance between censorship and openness; sameness and differences; patriotism and global citizenship. It’s the best time that every nation should seek for a better role to play in the globalization where we should continue to make improvements on.It’s very understandable for nations to panic and make changes but we should never quit for it’s clear to us all that globalization is the only way that we seek for co-prosperity.Globalization is not a conspiracy planned already, but a beautifully unfinished song to be written by us all.Enough is SO NOT enough.。

Im very glad to be here to have a speech. The topic of my speech is the spirit of sports. As far as Im concerned, Im a sheer amateur of sports, being fascinated by swimming, running, mountaineering and so on. I couldnt agree with these perspectives from people who dislike sports, because youll feel greatly relieved after being drenched in sweats by sports. Sports can also help you forget your worries and stress, feeling unprecedented relaxed. As is known, a healthy body is extraordinarily crucial. Moreover physical exercise undeniably exerts a far-reaching influence on keeping ourselves fit. In taking part in out-door sports, we are closer to nature and can take in fresh air. The beauty of nature will keep us clear-headed, which is essential to our health. Besides sports can stimulate the circulation of blood and help to excrete the wastes in the body. It also can work up our appetite and activate or digestion. In a word, sports can give rise to a strong body for us.In contemporary society, with the increasing focus on health, people in ever expanding numbers join the trend of doing sports and begin to accept more and more sorts of fashionable sports, ranging from hiking to diving. From this phenomenon, we can see not only do sports play a significant role in health, but also lay a solidfoundation for human beings spirit.Taking hiking for example, its a blend of man and nature completely way to travel, and also a kind of sports that not only need your physical strength, but also need the patience, perseverance and persistence. At the beginning of climbing a mountain, youll be exciting with the fantastic scene of mountain, river and water. However, after a half way, youll fell so tired and exhausted. The climbing road becomes more and more steep. At that time, it requires your persistence and determination to conquer arduous situations. It just likes the life, the closer the success is, the more difficulties you must endure. From my aspects, the enchantment of sports is that its a challenge for the limit of your body --- both a sort of healthy and popular life style and an reflection of optimistic and positive attitude. Just like nowadays, the development of Olympic games is harmonious and prosperous, for the reason that its not only for shaping humans body, but more for pursuing a king of spirit --- faster, higher, stronger. This is my speech. Thank you.。

还有一句话,不仅对想对我自己说,也想对每一个在努力的人说:the life we want, there is noshortcut.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
A gourd is used to hold liquids. However, Zhuangzi has taught us a good lesson that a gourd can be used to make a float, floating over the river and the lake. It’s clear to see a different mindset in him, which is the topic I’m going to focus on today: Success or Failure, Your Mindset Matters.
Ladies and gentlemen, have you ever considered the true relationship between success and failure? What is success? How do you define failure? Most of time, participation is the essence. That’s why we say the process is more important than the result. There are about 30 contestants this morning in this competition. If the first prize winners are the only successful ones here, this competition will probably lose its meaning.
When I began preparing for this English speaking contest, I was troubled by my speech writing. My coach wasn’t satisfied with them, because either my ideas were not typical or new just as Huizi was frustrated by a large kind of gourd. The chance to be chosen in this competition is one of thousands. How could I afford to lose? I was sleepless, couldn’t enjoy my m eals, and was nearly collapsed to come up with any good idea. I turned to my teacher, and he said your speech should be very well written to impress the judges and the audience. With so ordinary ideas and points, you cannot even convince me. It seems “winning” is the only word in my teacher’s dictionary. Failure does not have a place there.I can’t imagine wh at if I lose. I couldn’t get out until I read one of my teacher’s blogs.
It goes like this:
Failure doesn’t mean you are a “failure”, it means you haven’t succeeded yet. Failure doesn’t mean you have accomplished nothing, it mean s you have learned something.
Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it means you have to try something in a different way.
My problem solved, this verse has just opened my mind. The competition is not just about winning and losing. Actually the time I spent on preparing my speech has developed my creative thinking and critical mind. Suddenly, I felt enlightened and smartened,so to win a prize or notno longer bothers me, because I know I’m a winner already. Thank you!。
