• Shows the world is round • The moon was blocked by earth’s shadow • Magellan’s ships proved it by sailing around the world.
My piece of the History News shows the mistake a map in 1406.it is the most detailed map in that time. But it has a huge mistake, everyone knows that Africa has an end which is the cape of good hope. In the map, Africa is joined a huge land called ‘unknown continent’, that is ridiculous! Because of this map, Columbus believe he will arrive in Asia if he sail west, but he found the new would instead of Asia. Also a sailor named Vasco da Gama shows it was wrong. He sailed around the cave of good hope. The result is the map gets the whole world wrong! Now we should put this map in the museum and use new maps on sailing! This piece of News also proved that the world is round by the moon sometimes will be blocked by earth’s shadow. Magellan’s ships also prove this by sailing around the Earth. So, it is true.
