Recently, I participated in an English competition, and I was asked to write an essay in English and Chinese. I think this is a great opportunity to practice my language skills and showcase my abilities. In terms of writing in English, I think it's important to have a good understanding of the language and its grammar rules. Additionally, it's important to have a wide range of vocabulary to express your ideas clearly and concisely. For example, instead of using the word "good," you could use words like "excellent," "outstanding," or "remarkable" to make your writing more interesting and engaging. When it comes to speaking in English, it's important to practice as much as possible. One way to do this is by finding a language partner or joining a language exchangeprogram. This will allow you to practice speaking with someone who is fluent in English and can give you feedback on your pronunciation and grammar. As for writing in Chinese, it's important to have a good understanding of the language and its characters. Additionally, it's important to know how to write in a formal and polite manner, especially when writing business emails or letters. For example, instead of using the word "you," you could use the more formal "您" to show respect. When it comes to speaking in Chinese, it's important to practice your tones and pronunciation. Chinese is a tonal language, which means that the meaning of a word can change depending on the tone used. Therefore, it's important to practice your tones to ensure that you are conveying the correct meaning.

2Once I saw the TV show, it was about the fathers and their kids having the match, they were separated by five groups and compete for the match. At first, they were competing happily, but as the game came to the end, the last group was so worried. The father inspired his kid to stick on and finish the match, while the kid was crying because he knew he must be the last. After the match, the father told his kid that winning was not the most important thing for the match, the first thing was to enjoy the game and finish it, the result was not that important.I agree with the father, the child must be endowed with the consciousness that to enjoy the game is more important than to win. Every match can only have one win, but we can enjoy every match.

1My Amazing Day at the English Writing Contest!Wow, what an exciting day I had last Saturday! I got to take part in the biggest English writing competition for kids in our whole city. I was a little bit nervous at first, but it turned out to be so much fun. Let me tell you all about it!It started off pretty early in the morning. Mom and Dad woke me up at 7 o'clock, which is super early for a Saturday. But I didn't even mind because I was so psyched for the contest. I put on my lucky shirt (the one with the rocket ship on it) and had a huge bowl of my favorite Rocket Crunch cereal to get energized. When we arrived at the community center where it was being held, there were kids everywhere! From little kids in kindergarten all the way up to sixth graders, the whole place was packed. My heart was beating like a drum in my chest. This was seriously the biggest event I had ever been a part of.First up was the opening ceremony. The principal of our school was the host and he came out on stage wearing a funnyEnglish police officer costume. He did a little comedy routine to warm up the crowd, telling jokes and doing silly dances. I couldn't understand all of his English, but it was still hilarious. Then he explained all the rules for how the writing part of the contest would work.Basically, we had 90 minutes to write a story on one of three possible topics. We could choose between writing about (1) my biggest wish, (2) my favorite memory, or (3) if I could be any animal. I decided right away that I wanted to write about being a cheetah. Cheetahs are my absolute favorite animal because they are the fastest land creatures on Earth. I could already picture my epic story in my mind. When the time started, I put my pencil to the paper and the words just seemed to flow out of me. I was describing how fast I could run as a cheetah, hunting wild game on the golden savannah. How the wind would whip through my fur and make my whiskers flutter. The thrilling chase and finally sinking my teeth into my prey. Page after page, I filled it up with all the details.About halfway through, I got a little stuck and had writer's block for a while. I just couldn't think of what to write next. But then I had an idea - I decided my cheetah could make friendswith a human boy and we could go on adventures together. That unlocked my creativity again and then I was off to the races! Finally, the time was up and I had filled up several notebook pages with my story. My hand was actually getting a little sore from writing so much. But I felt proud and accomplished. I had given it my absolute best shot. While the judges were reading through all of our entries, we got to participate in some fun English activities and games. Things like English charades, vocabulary matches, and my favorite was English Family Feud. We were put on teams and had to try and guess the most popular answers to questions, just like on the real TV show. My team ended up winning that round! At long last, it was time for the main event - the awarding of the prizes! The principal announced the third place, then second place winners. When he got to the first place winner, he called out...my name! I couldn't believe it. Out of everybody there, my cheetah story had been chosen as the best. I walked up on stage in a complete daze and accepted the huge trophy. It was almost as big as me!On the way home in the car, I stared at that trophy the whole time, running my fingers over the engraving. I had never won anything that major before. Mom and Dad were beaming withpride. And the best part? The first place prize was free enrollment in a summer English immersion camp! I'm going to get to spend two weeks this summer living together with other English language students. We'll get to practice speaking, writing, and experiencing English all day long. How cool is that?I can't wait to improve my English skills even more. Writing that story made me realize just how much I love the English language. Who knows, maybe I'll grow up to be an amazing English writer someday! But for now, I'm just proud of my hard work and thankful I got to have such an awesome experience. The English Writing Contest was a day I'll never forget!篇2My Super Fun Day at the English Writing Contest!Wow, what an exciting day I had! I got to go to the big English Writing Contest downtown and it was the coolest thing ever. I'm going to tell you all about my fantastic adventure. It started super early in the morning when Mom woke me up at 6 AM. I was pretty sleepy but she said I needed lots of time to get ready. We had to leave the house by 7:30 to make sure we arrived at the contest on time. I gobbled down some cereal and gulped my orange juice. Then I got dressed in my special outfit -a blue button-down shirt, black pants, and my favorite red sneakers. The drive there took forever! But Mom let me listen to music and we played some road trip games to pass the time. We finally made it to the big convention center where the contest was being held at 8:45. There were kids everywhere with their parents. Some looked excited, others a little nervous. I was a mix of both!We had to go through a big line to check in and get our contestant numbers. I'm contestant #159! How cool is that? After checking in, we went to sit in the massive ballroom where rows and rows of tables were all set up. Each table had a teturn number on it and pencils, pens, and paper for us to write on.A few minutes before 9:30, a lady came on the big stage at the front and welcomed us all. She explained the rules - we'd have 2 hours to write a story on the prompt they gave us. We couldn't use spellcheck or get any help. Just our brains and pencils! Then at 11:30 they'd collect our stories and a team of judges would read them.At 9:30 on the dot, the lady unveiled the prompt on the big screen: "You wake up one morning and realize you've somehow swapped bodies with your family pet. Describe your new life andhow you swap back!" What a crazy prompt! I was stumped for a minute but then I started getting some ideas. For the next two hours, I wrote and wrote and wrote. My hand cramped up a little but I tried my best. I had to keep erasing and rewriting some parts because I'd come up with better ideas as I went along. The time flew by so fast!At 11:30 sharp, they told us to put down our pencils. Some kids looked sad because they weren't finished. Not me though - I was proud of my story! The volunteers came around and collected all our papers, putting them into big boxes. While the judges started reading our stories, we all got a break for lunch. My mom packed me a turkey sandwich, apple slices, carrots, and a chocolate chip cookie. It tasted so good after all that hard work! After lunch, we went back to the ballroom and they had activities set up for us. I got to decorate a picture frame with fun stickers and glitter glue. Some kids played English word games and others read short books. It was a nice way to relax a little. Finally, at around 2:30 PM, the judges came back out on stage. A huge hush fell over the room as we waited for them toannounce the winners. They named the 3rd place, then 2nd place winner. I crossed my fingers super tight, hoping I'd get 1st place. And then...they called out "First place goes to contestant number 159!" That's me!! I WON I was sooooo excited, I jumped up and down cheering. Mom gave me a big hug and had proud tears in her eyes.I got to go up on stage and the lady handed me a beautiful trophy. It's this golden cup on a marble base with the words "English Writing Contest Champion" engraved on it. So cool! The judges said they loved how creative and descriptive my story was.I gave a quick speech thanking my parents and teachers for all their support. After that, they let us go home. I was grinning from ear to ear the whole drive back, staring at my awesome trophy. Mom told me she's going to take it to work and show it off to all her coworkers! When we got home, I emailed my story to my grandparents and teachers so they could read the winning entry too. What an unbelievably fun day! That writing contest was challenging but also so rewarding. I worked super hard and it paid off. I can't wait to do it again next year and defend my champion title! Maybe you should enter too - you might just win!篇3My Awesome Experience at the English Handwriting CompetitionHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 5th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. I just had the coolest experience ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it! A few weeks ago, my teacher Mrs. Robinson announced that our school was hosting an English Handwriting Competition. I was super excited because handwriting is one of my favorite things. In class, we had been practicing cursive writing and learning fun handwriting styles like bubble letters and calligraphy. I spent so much time perfecting my handwriting skills because I really wanted to enter the competition. My parents were really supportive and helped me practice at home too. My little sister even let me borrow her colored pencils and special pens! Finally, the day of the competition arrived. I was a little nervous waiting in the auditorium with all the other students. There were kids from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. The judges looked very serious, but Mrs. Robinson gave me an encouraging smile. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. The first round was cursive handwriting. We had to copy a short paragraph in our best cursive on special competition paper.I made sure to keep my letters neat and connected. Next was the print round where we had to write the same paragraph in print. I focused hard on making my print letters straight and spaced perfectly. After that was the creative round, which was my favorite! We got to write a short story or poem in whichever fun handwriting style we wanted. I chose bubble letters because they always look so fun and colorful. I wrote a silly story about a alien visiting Earth and trying to communicate through handwriting. I added lots of colors, patterns, and decorations around my words. While the judges Were scoring that round, we got to take a snack break. I snacked on a granola bar and drank some apple juice, trying not to get too nervous. The final round was a surprise handwriting challenge where the judges gave us a new prompt to copy as neatly as possible. Finally, after what felt like forever, it was time for the awards ceremony! I was crossing my fingers and toes, hoping I did well enough to place. When they announced the 3rd place winner...it was me! I was stunned and soexcited. I beat out dozens of other students to place 3rd overall in the whole competition.Up on stage, I received a bronze medal, a special calligraphy pen set, and a certificate. I was all smiles in the photo with the judges and principals. All my hard work and practice had paid off! Winning that handwriting medal was such an awesome feeling. On the way home in the car, my parents told me how proud they were. We went out for my favorite pizza to celebrate. That handwriting competition day will always be a special memory for me. It just shows that with dedication and passion, you can accomplish amazing things, even with something assimple as handwriting!I'm already looking forward to next year's competition. Maybe I can win 1st place then! But for now, I'm going to cherish my 3rd place medal and keep working on my handwriting skills. Writing is such a beautiful form of art and expression. I'm so grateful my school encouraged us to appreciate the art of handwriting through this fun competition. Thanks for reading about my awesome experience!篇4The Big English Writing Contest!Wow, I'm so excited to tell you about the super cool English writing contest that my school had last week! It was the biggestevent of the year and all of us kids were buzzing with excitement. Even the teachers seemed pumped up!A few weeks before the contest, our English teacher Mrs. Johnson announced that we would all get to participate in a huge writing competition. The best writers from each grade would get to move on to the finals and the overall winner would receive an awesome prize – a brand new bicycle! As soon as she said that, my hand shot up. "Mrs. Johnson, I love writing stories and I'm going to win that bike for sure!" I declared loudly. Some of the other kids laughed at my confidence, but Mrs. Johnson just smiled and nodded.Over the next few weeks, we practiced and practiced our writing skills. We learned about using vivid descriptions, adding juicy details, checking our spelling and grammar, and so much more. I have to admit, some of it was kind of boring. But I kept my eye on the prize – that shiny new bike! Finally, the day of the big contest arrived. The gym was transformed into a huge writing room, with rows and rows of desks and chairs facing the front. We each got a special pencil, freshly sharpened, and a stack of lined paper to write on. No erasers allowed! When the bell rang to begin, you could have heard a pin drop. Everyone was completely silent, pencils poised over the blank pages. Mrs. Johnson read out the writing prompt: "You discover a magical doorway that leads to the world's greatest adventure. Describe where you go and what happens!"My mind started whirring with ideas – a fantasy world, brave heroes, epic quests! As soon as she finished reading, I put pencil to paper and the words started pouring out of me. I wrote and wrote and wrote, getting lost in the story I was creating. An hour and a half later, the bell rang again and it was time to put down our pencils. My hand was cramped up but I had filled up something like 10 pages with my tale! As I looked around at the other kids rubbing their hands and stretching, I felt pretty confident.Over the next couple of days, the teachers scored all of our stories. The air was tense with anticipation as we waited to find out who would make it to the finals. When Mrs. Johnson posted the list of finalists on the bulletin board, I almost fell over with joy – my name was on it! Along with nine other students from various grades. For the finals, we had to write another story right there on the spot, with no preparation. This time the prompt was, "Youwake up one morning with a remarkable super power. What is it and how do you use it?" My super power writing skills kicked into high gear as I spun a crazy tale about being able to fly. When it was all over and our stories were judged, they announced the winner at a big assembly. Everyone cheered wildly as the principal said my name and I jumped up, blushing like crazy. I had won the grand prize bike!As I stood there, holding my shiny blue trophy and looking at that beautiful new bicycle on stage, I felt so proud of myself. All that writing practice, taking my teacher's advice to heart, never giving up on my dream – it had all paid off in the best way.I could hardly wait to go shredding around the neighborhood on my prize!Writing this winning story was one of the greatest thrills of my life so far. Maybe someday I'll even be a famous author! All I know is that thanks to this incredible experience, I have alife-long love of creative writing. Bring on the next writing adventure!篇5My Big Day at the English Writing CompetitionHi everyone! My name is Emma and I am 10 years old. I love writing stories and poems in English. Last month, I got to enter a really fun English writing competition at my school. I was so excited! Let me tell you all about my big day.A few weeks before the competition, my English teacher Mrs. Roberts announced it in class. "Students, next month we will have our annual English Writing Fair. You can write any kind of story, poem, or essay you want in English. Then a group of judges will read everyone's writing and pick the best ones to get prizes!" she told us.As soon as I heard about the writing fair, I knew I wanted to enter. Writing is one of my biggest passions. I love making up characters and storytelling worlds. I also really enjoy the challenge of using new vocabulary words and trying out different writing styles. An English writing competition sounded like a dream come true!Over the next couple of weeks, I spent a lot of time after school brainstorming ideas and drafting my story. I decided to write a fantasy adventure tale about a young girl who discovers she can talk to animals. I outlined the whole plot, created character bios for the main humans and animals, and even drewa map of the magical forest where a lot of the action would take place.Once I had outlined everything, I started working on the actual writing and revising. Some days the story flowed easily, but other times I got stuck and had to take breaks. Whenever I wasn't sure about word choices or grammar points, I asked my parents or Mrs. Roberts for advice. I also used my English dictionary a bunch to make sure I was spelling everything correctly. After many late nights of writing and rewriting, I finally finished my story two days before the competition. I did one final proofread, printed it out neatly, and put it in a folder decorated with my favorite stickers and drawings. I could hardly sleep I was so eager for the big day to arrive! At last it was the morning of the writing fair. My parents dropped me off at school early feeling proud and confident. As I entered the auditorium where the competition was being held, my heart started pounding with excitement and nerves. Long tables had been set up around the room, each with a different genre label like "Fantasy," "Poetry," "Realistic Fiction," and so on.Mrs. Roberts came up to me with a warm smile. "Good morning, Emma! I can't wait to read your story. Just place yourfolder on the Fantasy table over there when you're ready for the judges."I found the Fantasy table and carefully set down my folder, admiring the colorful drawings and descriptions covering the tabletop. So many other students had already turned in their writing. The room was buzzing with energy and creative spirit.Throughout the rest of the day, the judges circulated reading all of the entries, taking notes, and having quiet discussions. Although I tried to be patient, I kept glancing over at the Fantasy table, dying to know what the judges thought of my story. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, it was time for the award ceremony. The principal and special guest judges took the stage and started announcing the winning writers in each genre.I listened with bated breath as they got to the Fantasy category."In third place for Fantasy...Emma Thompson!"I let out a squeal of joy as my name was called. I hugged my parents proudly as I went up to accept my bronze medal and certificate. My hard work had paid off!The first and second place winners were amazing too, with such creative, well-written stories. Although I didn't get one ofthe top prizes this year, I was really happy with my bronze medal. Just being part of the writing fair was incredibly special. On the way home in the car, I cycled through feelings of accomplishment, gratitude, and inspiration. I gave my medal a loving look. "This is just the beginning. I'm going to keep writing and entering every English competition I can. Just you wait - next year, I'm going for the gold!"。

It requires not only a good command of English vocabulary and grammar, but also the ability to express my thoughts and ideas fluently. When I first heard about the competition, I was both excited and nervous. I knew it would be a great opportunity to test my English skills, but at the same time, I was worried about whether I could perform well under pressure.I remember the first round of the competition, whichwas a written test. The topics ranged from current eventsto personal experiences. I had to write an essay within a limited time, and I found it quite challenging to organize my thoughts and convey them in a coherent way. However, I managed to finish the essay and felt relieved that I had completed the first round. In the second round, I had to give a speech on a given topic in front of the judges and the audience. This was even more nerve-wracking for me, as I had never spoken in public in English before. I practiced my speech countless times, trying to improve my pronunciation and intonation. When the day of the competition arrived, I was extremely anxious, but I reminded myself to stay calm and confident. Surprisingly, I delivered the speech without stumbling over my words, and I even received positive feedback from the judges. After the competition, I realized that the experience had helped me improve my English in many ways. Not only did I expand my vocabulary and improve my speaking and writing skills, but I also gained confidence in using English in various situations. I learned to think on my feet and express myself more fluently, which are essential skillsfor effective communication in English.

1A Magical Journey to the Land of BooksThe bell rang, signaling the end of another school day. I rushed out of the classroom, eager to start my weekend adventure. However, this wasn't just any ordinary weekend. This was the weekend of the big English writing contest! I had been working on my story for weeks, and I couldn't wait to put pen to paper and let my imagination run wild.As I hurried home, my backpack felt lighter than usual, as if the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. The warm spring breeze caressed my face, and the sweet scent of blooming flowers filled the air. It was the perfect day to embark on a literary journey.Upon arriving home, I dumped the contents of my backpack onto the living room floor and sifted through the pile until I found my trusty notebook. Its pages were filled with scribbles, doodles, and half-formed ideas – the seeds of my soon-to-be masterpiece.I plopped down on the cozy, worn-out couch and opened the notebook to a fresh page. The crisp, blank canvas seemed to beckon me, daring me to fill it with words and worlds of my own creation. I grabbed a pencil and let the ideas flow, my hand struggling to keep up with the torrent of thoughts rushing through my mind. Before long, I found myself transported to a realm of pure imagination, a place where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blurred. In this wondrous land, talking animals roamed freely, and magic was as commonplace as breathing. Here, I was the master of my own destiny, the architect of extraordinary adventures. As I wrote, the characters sprang to life, each with their own unique personalities and quirks. There was Nibbles, the courageous yet mischievous mouse, whose insatiable curiosity often landed him in precarious situations. And then there was Willowbark, the wise and ancient oak tree, whose branches sheltered the forest's secrets.Together, they embarked on a quest to save their beloved woodland home from the clutches of the evil sorcerer, Grimlock. Along the way, they encountered a host of fantastic creatures, from the playful pixies who danced among the wildflowers to the fearsome dragons that guarded the enchanted caves. With each turn of the page, the stakes grew higher, and the challenges more daunting. But Nibbles and Willowbark refused to give up, their unwavering determination fueled by the bonds of friendship and the hope for a better tomorrow. As the hours ticked by, the world around me faded into the background, replaced by the vivid landscapes and captivating characters that danced across the pages of my notebook. I was no longer just a writer – I was an explorer, a storyteller, a weaver of dreams. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, I put down my pencil, my hand aching from the marathon writing session. I had done it – I had crafted a tale that would surely captivate the judges and win me the coveted first-place prize. With a contented sigh, I closed the notebook and gazed out the window, where the sunset had painted the sky in a breathtaking array of colors. In that moment, I realized that the true magic wasn't found in the fantastical realms I had created, but in the power of imagination itself – the ability to transport ourselves to worlds beyond our wildest dreams, simply by putting pen to paper. The days leading up to the contest seemed to crawl by at a snail's pace. I spent every spare moment poring over my story, polishing it to perfection. I could recite entire passages from memory, each word etched into my mind like a cherished heirloom. At last, the big day arrived. With trembling hands and a pounding heart, I submitted my masterpiece to the judges, a mixture of excitement and trepidation swirling within me.The hours ticked by agonizingly slow as the judges pored over the entries, carefully considering each word, each turn of phrase. Finally, the moment of truth arrived, and the winners were announced. When they called my name, a wave of disbelief washed over me. Had I heard correctly? Had my humble tale truly captured the hearts and minds of the esteemed judges? As I made my way to the stage to accept the first-place prize, the reality of my achievement began to sink in.With tears of joy glistening in my eyes, I clutched the trophy tight, a physical manifestation of the boundless power of imagination. In that moment, I knew that this was just the beginning of a lifelong journey – a journey filled with countless adventures, heartwarming tales, and the magic of storytelling. As I stood there, basking in the adulation of the crowd, one thought echoed through my mind: the pen truly is mightier than the sword, for it has the power to shape worlds, ignite dreams, and touch the hearts of all who dare to read its words.篇2The Best Day of My LifeI couldn't believe it when they called my name at the English writing contest awards ceremony. My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest! I had won first prize! As I walked up onto that big stage to receive my trophy, I thought about everything that had happened to lead me to this amazing moment. It all started a few months ago when my teacher, Mrs. Robertson, told our class about the upcoming English writing contest for elementary students. She encouraged all of us to enter by writing a short story or essay on the theme of "My Most Unforgettable Experience." At first, I didn't think I would actually do it. Writing has always been one of my favorite things, but I'm just a kid - what were the chances I could win against all the other students? But then I remembered how my mom is always telling me, "You'll never know unless you try." She's been saying that to me for as long as I can remember, pushing me to chase my dreams and do my best at everything. Thanks to her constant encouragement, I've learned to love challenges and adventure. So I decided to go for it and enter the writing contest. What did I have to lose?Picking my topic was easy - I knew right away I wanted to write about the time last summer when I got to go on a weeklong camping trip with my dad and older brother in the mountains. It was, without a doubt, the most unforgettable experience of my young life so far. I spent the next few weeks after school working really hard on my essay, revising it over and over until it was perfect. I must have gone through 20 drafts at least! Whenever I got stuck, my dad was there to help me think through ideas and fix my writing. He's my biggest fan. Finally, the big day came to submit my contest entry. I was so nervous handing it in, but also proud I had put in my best effort.A few weeks later, Mrs. Robertson posted the list of finalists and I couldn't believe my name was on it! Just making it that far was exciting. But I tried not to get my hopes up too high about actually winning. The night of the awards ceremony, my whole family came to cheer me on - mom, dad, my brother, grandma and grandpa, even my aunt, uncle, and cousins! As we waited for the results to be announced, dad winked at me and said, "No matter what, we're already proud of you, champ." Those words helped settle the butterflies in my stomach. Then it was time for the winners to be revealed, starting with third place. I felt a little deflated when that name wasn't mine. Then second place was announced, and again, it wasn't me. By process of elimination, I knew that meant the first place winner had to be...me! They said my name and this huge smile spread across my face as the room erupted in cheers and applause.Walking up on that stage was easily one of the greatest thrills of my life so far. The judges told me they were amazed by my vivid descriptions and creativity. As the winner, they asked me to read my essay out loud so everyone could hear it. I felt so proud and confident, like a professional writer!Afterwards, my family surrounded me with big hugs and congratulations. Mom had happy tears in her eyes. "I knew you could do it!" she said as she squeezed me tight. Dad ruffled my hair and said, "That's my champ. I'm so proud of you, kiddo." My brother gave me a fist bump and said, "Nice work, little bro!"Winning this contest has been such an awesome experience that I'll never forget. It makes me believe that I really can be a writer when I grow up if I keep working hard and chasing my dreams. I feel like I've learned so much through this process about drafting, revising, and persevering to do my best work. I'm already looking forward to next year's contest! But more than anything, this award has meant the world to me because of how happy it's made the people I love most. Seeing the pride and joy on my parents' and family's faces has been the greatest prize of all. It feels amazing to have accomplished something so cool at my age. I proved to myself that when you take a chance and put your whole heart into something, you really can make your dreams come true. This first place trophy will always have a special place on my bedroom shelf to remind me of this incredible day. I'm going to keep working harder than ever, using my writing skills to create new stories and someday maybe even become a published author! Thanks to this contest, I've learned that the key to success is simple: never give up on your dreams and always believe in yourself. Who knows what amazing things I'll go on to accomplish?篇3My Amazing Summer AdventureHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I just had the best summer ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it! This summer, I went on an amazing adventure with my family. We went camping in the mountains for two whole weeks! It all started when my dad announced we were going camping instead of our usual vacation at the beach. At first, I was a little disappointed because I love swimming in the ocean and building sandcastles. But my parents promised it would be really fun and we'd get to do all sorts of cool outdoor activities. So I got excited! We had to pack a lot of stuff for our camping trip. We brought a huge tent, sleeping bags, camp stoves, lanterns, life jackets, fishing poles, and tons of other gear. My mom made sure we had enough foodlike granola bars, trail mixes, and hot dogs to roast over the campfire. It took us forever to load everything into our car!The drive up to the campground in the mountains took about 5 hours. I could hardly sit still I was so antsy to get there! When we finally arrived, I was amazed at how beautiful it was. Tall trees and wildflowers were everywhere and a huge lake glistened in the sun. After pitching our tent, my dad taught meand my little brother how to build a safe campfire. We roasted hot dogs and made gooey s'mores for dessert. They were so delicious!Over the next few days, we stayed busy with lots of fun activities. One day we went hiking and saw a family of deer up close! Another day we went canoeing around the lake. I got to row the canoe myself which was trickier than I thought. We even went fishing and I caught a huge trout! My dad showed me how to clean and cook it over the fire. It tasted amazing. One of the most exciting days was when we went whitewater rafting down a rapid river. Our guide gave us all special gear like helmets and life jackets to wear. We had to paddle really hard to navigate through the churning whitewater. At one point, we went through a section called "Drunkard's Drop" and our raft plunged down this huge waterfall! We got totally drenched but it was an incredible adrenaline rush. Definitely the highlight of the trip!In the evenings, we made a campfire and roasted s'mores again. We also played fun games like charades or told spooky stories. My favorite part was stargazing before bedtime. The night sky looked like a sparkling blanket of diamonds because there were no city lights to dull their brilliance. We spottedmeteors, planets, and even the Milky Way stretching across the heavens. But my absolute favorite memory was near the end of our trip. One night, we heard some rustling outside our tent. My dad bravely went to investigate with a flashlight. And there, just a few feet away, was a HUGE black bear lumbering around our campsite! We all held our breath and stayed perfectly still and quiet. After what felt like forever, the bear finally wandered off. In the morning, we saw his muddy footprints all around our tent. Can you believe we were that close to a real bear? I was blown away!Eventually, it was time to pack up and head home. I was really sad to leave the beautiful mountains and all the fun we had camping. But I also couldn't wait to tell my friends about my crazy adventures. Especially the part about the bear! This was a summer I'll never forget. I'm so lucky my parents took me on this amazing trip where I got to experience the great outdoors. Maybe we'll go camping again next summer. As long as there are no more surprise bear visits!篇4My Big Win at the English Writing Contest!Hi everyone! My name is Sarah and I'm 10 years old. I just won first place in the city-wide English writing contest for elementary school students! I'm so excited to tell you all about it.It all started a few months ago when my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class about the contest. She said any student from grades 3-5 could enter by writing an original story or essay in English. The best ones would win prizes!I really love writing stories, so I definitely wanted to enter. But I wasn't sure if my English was good enough to win. You see, my family moved to this country from Korea when I was 6 years old. Even though I've been learning English for 4 years now, writing a whole story correctly is still pretty hard for me.But my mom said I should try anyway. "The only way to get better at writing is to practice," she told me. "Even if you don't win, entering the contest will help improve your English skills." My dad agreed, and said he was proud of me for being brave enough to take on the challenge. So I decided to go for it! I spent several weeks after school working really hard on my story. I would write a few paragraphs, then read them out loud to myself or my parents to check if they sounded right. If something sounded off, I'd rewrite that part over and over until it flowed smoothly. The story I wrote is called "My Superpowered Adventures." It's about a regular 4th grade girl named Lily who accidentally gets struck by rainbow-colored energy from a meteor shower. This gives her the ability to shoot colorful energy beams from her hands! At first Lily is confused and scared by her new powers. But soon she figures out how to control them, and starts using them to help people and fight bad guys. She rescues a puppy from a burning building, stops some bank robbers, and even saves the whole city from an evil scientist's giant laser beam! But she has to be careful, because her powers drain her energy so she can only use them for a short time before getting tired.I tried hard to make the story fun and imaginative, with lots of action and details. But I also wanted there to be an deeper message behind it. I think the real "moral" is that we all have special talents and abilities inside us, kind of like Lily's superpowers. And if we work hard to develop those talents, and use them to help others instead of just ourselves, we can make the world a better place. It took me a long time to get the whole story just right. Some nights I stayed up way past my bedtime, writing and rewriting pages and pages. A few times I even cried out of frustrationwhen I couldn't find the right words in English! But my parents kept encouraging me, telling me not to give up.Finally, after a whole month of work, my story was finished. I did one last check for any spelling or grammar errors, then carefully printed out a final copy and handed it in to Mrs. Johnson on the due date, just in time!A few weeks later, the results were announced at a special assembly. I was absolutely stunned when the principal said I had won first place in the whole 3rd-5th grade division! I'll never forget the feeling of pride and joy as I walked up on stage, smiling from ear to ear, and received my trophy and 100 prize. My parents were just as happy and proud as I was, maybe even more. My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. I just won first prize in the Big City English Writing Contest for elementaryschool students. I'm so excited to share with you the story that got me the big trophy! It all started at the end of last school year. My parents promised to take me and my little sister Emily on a special summer trip if we both got good grades. Well, I studied really hard and Emily is just a smartypants, so of course we earned that trip! My parents decided to take us camping in the great outdoors. At first, I wasn't too thrilled about it. Camping? No TV, no video games, and way too many bugs for my taste. But my parents said it would be an adventure we'd never forget. Little did I know just how true that would be!We packed up our trusty minivan with a ton of stuff - tents, sleeping bags, a camping stove, lanterns, and enough food to last us a whole month in the wilderness. We drove for what felt like forever until we finally reached Mountain Ridge National Forest. As soon as we stepped out of the van, the freshpine-scented air hit my nose. It smelled so clean and natural, not at all like the smoggy city I'm used to. I have to admit, I felt a little thrill of excitement.Dad picked the perfect spot to set up our campsite - a grassy meadow right next to a babbling stream. We had to do everything ourselves, from putting up the tents to gatheringfirewood. Emily and I worked up quite an appetite with all that activity under the warm summer sun. I'll never forget that first campfire dinner - smoky hot dogs and gooey toasted marshmallows. Mmm, delicious!Over the next few days, we went on some awesome hikes to explore the forest. We spotted so much cool wildlife - a family of deer, a couple of sneaky raccoons, and even a black bear from a safe distance! My favorite hike was up to Falcon Peak, the highest point around. From the top, we could see the entire forest stretching out below us in a million shades of green. What an incredible view! One morning, we decided to go for a swim in the stream near our campsite. The water was freezing cold, but it felt amazing to splash around and cool off from the heat. That's when the big adventure happened. Emily and I were paddling around when she spotted something in the water. "Look, Tommy!A turtle!" She bent down to grab it, but the "turtle" suddenly moved and revealed itself to be a huge snapping turtle! Its powerful jaws crashed shut just inches from Emily's arm. We both screamed at the top of our lungs and scrambled out of the stream as fast as lightning. My heart was pounding like crazy, butwe were safely out of harm's way. From then on, we stayed far away from any possible turtle habitats! On our last night of camping, we had a special treat - a night hike to go stargazing. I had seen stars in the city before, but whoa, the stars out there in the wilderness looked like brilliant diamonds scattered across a pitch-black velvet blanket. I could even see the hazy band of the Milky Way stretching across the entire sky. It was so beautiful and serene. Mom said that moments like that are what camping is all about - connecting with nature and leaving the noise and distractions of the city far behind. That camping trip turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life so far. I learned how to pitch a tent, build a campfire, follow trail markers, and identify different trees, flowers, and animals. Most importantly, I discovered a whole new appreciation for the great outdoors and all the amazing adventures waiting to be had out there in nature. I can't wait for my next camping trip!I hope you enjoyed reading about my camping escapades as much as I enjoyed living them. Maybe my story will inspire you to unplug from electronics and go explore the outdoors yourself.Who knows what unforgettable adventures you might find? Thanks for reading, and happy camping!篇6My Journey to Becoming an Award-Winning WriterWow, I can't believe I actually won first place in the English writing contest! When I found out, I was so excited I did a little happy dance right there in my classroom. My teacher, Mrs. Johnson, had the biggest smile on her face as she handed me the award certificate. "Excellent work, Jamie," she said. "I'm so proud of you!"I still remember the day she first told our class about the contest. "Students," she announced, "I have a very special opportunity for all of you writers out there." My ears perked up because writing stories is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Mrs. Johnson explained that the contest was open to all elementary school students in our district. The prompt was to write a creative fiction story on the theme of "adventure."As soon as I got home that afternoon, I plopped down at my desk and started brainstorming ideas. An adventure story...what sort of adventure would I want to go on? I started doodling pictures of knights, spaceships, jungle explorers. So manypossibilities! Eventually, I settled on the idea of a young girl who discovers a secret, ancient treasure map and goes on an epic journey to find the treasure before an evil villain can get there first.I spent the next few weeks working really hard on my story. I'd write a few paragraphs at home, then bring it to school to have Mrs. Johnson look it over. She'd make suggestions like "Add more descriptive details here" or "Show the character's emotions more in this part." Taking her advice, I'd revise my story, then go home and repeat the cycle - writing more, getting feedback, revising. It was a lot of work, but I loved every minute of it. Making up the adventures, deciding what crazy obstacles my characters would face, thinking about how they'd solve the problems along the way...it was like I was on the treasure hunt myself! Whenever I got stuck, I'd re-read my favorite adventure books by authors like Rick Riordan to get inspired. Finally, after a ton of brainstorming, writing, and revising, my story was complete. I titled it "The Quest for the Golden Scarab" because the treasure they were searching for was an ancient Egyptian artifact. The day I turned it in, I felt so proud of all the effort I had put into it.A few weeks later, Mrs. Johnson gathered us all on the reading rug to announce the contest results. When she said my name as the first place winner, I was completely shocked! Out of all the other great writers in my class and all the other schools, my story had been chosen as the best. The judges' comments praised my "vivid descriptions and imaginative plot." I couldn't stop smiling.Winning that contest gave me a huge confidence boost in my writing abilities. I realized that with passion and hard work, I could create something really special on the page. Mrs. Johnson encouraged me to enter more competitions and keep working on my craft. Now, writing isn't just a hobby, but a big part of who I am. I've won a few more contests since that first one, and I even had a short story published in a kids' literary magazine last year! My ultimate dream is to become a bestselling author when I grow up. Maybe I'll write epic fantasy series like Harry Potter, oraction-packed adventure books in the spirit of Indiana Jones. Whatever I end up writing, you can be sure it will be filled with creativity, imagination, and lots of heart.Sometimes I'll re-read "The Quest for the Golden Scarab" and smile, remembering how it was the story that kicked off myjourney to becoming an award-winning writer. That little fourth grader who loved making up adventures had no idea her crazy daydreams would one day turn into something so special. I have Mrs. Johnson, my family, and most of all, my love for writing stories to thank for that.So keep exploring those imaginary worlds and going on make-believe quests, future writers! You never know where your adventures may lead. Maybe you'll be the next big award winner...。

(3)Follow Positive Fashions, Resist Negative Fashions. Fashions refer to the things that most people tend to do. Some fashions are positive and meaningful while some are negative and harmful. So we can’t simply say we should follow fashions or we shouldn’t follow fashions. It’s the effect fashions have on society that counts. When it comes to clothes, fashions should not be followed. What others wear may not fit you. Also, you don’t need to change your likes and dislikes in order to follow fashions. It’s stupid to run after fashions without consideration. What clothes we should buy depends on our financial ability, our tastes, our identity and so on. If everyone follows fashions without thinking, people will lose their own personality and our society will lack the motivation to develop. In a nutshell, we shouldn’t follow wearing fashions. It’s important that we dress what we like and feel comfortable in it.Fashions also include donating money and items. It’s the fashion that we should follow. We nchuan and Yushu earthquake destroy many people’s homes. As Chinese, we have the res-ponsbility[*1] to give a hand to them. To help them rebuild their houses and pick up their courage, we should do what we can. At one time, many people give out a large number of money and items without hesitation. We are glad to see that the fashion has been formed. On no condition should we give up helping others. That fashion represents Chinese spirits. Everyone following the fashion, [12] we will over come[*3] any difficulties and head to the bright future.Should we follow fashions? At some time, we should; at some time, we shouldn’t . If the fashion has a positive effect on our society, it should be encouraged. If the fashion does harm to our society, it must be resiste d. It’s the principle we should insist on. Only in this way can our country develop rapidly. Treat fashions correctly, and everyone will live a better life.

When it comes to fashion, what will you come up with? Gucci, Prada, Channel or Nike, Puma, Addidas? If these are all the things you can think of, I have to say your definition of fashion is too shallow[11] . As far as I am concerned, following fashions is not just about chasing labels, it pertains with choosing a lifestyle, adjusting your values as well, which can be of great help to us as long as we don’t lose our own style when pursuing it.The advantage [*2] of following fashions can easily be seen from how the fashions come about. Let’s take[*3] the popularity of Japanese clothes adored by such enormous number of people is[*4] that the dresses and shirts are beautifully decorated with bows ,laces, making young girls unable to resist the temptation to buy them. As we can conclude from the example, it is because something is charmfu[*5] l enough to attract people that it turns into fashion, which makes it totally reasonable for people to follow fashions as they can benefit from it.Besides, it is an obvious truth that humans are social animals. Such [*6] is human nature that we like to get together and communicate with each iother[*7] , and invariably, fashions become a hot topic. Therefore, following fashions creates common points[*8] among people, leading to more communication and harmonious relationship. If you keep up with fashions, I guess, you will never be isolated and left silent [*9] in a party.Last but not least, fashions actually contain varieties of new ideas of life. They can be a new healthy lifestyle, the latest inventions to improve life quality or some nobel [*10] thoughts of a better city, all of which may be creative indeed. [111] Only when you follow the fashions and absorb these new ideas, can you keep pace with times and enjoy your life better.Nevertheless, to follow fashions never amounts[*12] to lose yourself in the tide of fashions. It will be absolutely stupid if you have no feature of your own and just follow the steps of others. In my opinion, keeping your own style is something foundamental [113] and essential in following fashions. To sum up from the facts mentioned above, we can safely reach the conclusion that as long as you stick to your own style, following fashions is bound to present you with a more enjoyable life. So let’s catch up with fashions!
