各国“公司”英文的缩写

各国“公司”英文的缩写有限公司Co.,Ltd. Company LimitedInc.表示了公司的性质。

INC是incorporated的缩写（有限）公司的意思。

Inc.的原形是Incorporation 意思是指：组成公司/注册/合并。

如果加在公司名称后面，多是它的分词形式，但是已变成一个固有的形容词汇：Incorporated .使用这种用法，多是美国式的用法，不要加Ltd. 但是它的含义却是：’某某股份有限公司’重点在于性质是‘股份制’的有限公司，意味着‘按股分公司组成的’、‘组成（股份）公司的’。

随着我国改革开放的不断深入，祖国各地各类公司如雨后春笋般地开办起来。

令人遗憾的是，目前有关“公司”、“有限责任公司”、“股份有限公司”的英译很混乱，现归纳如下：1 “公司”的英译无章可循吴景荣主编《汉英词典》，商务印书馆，1979年，对“公司”的英译为“company”和“corporation”p.396。

戴鸣钟，戴炜栋主编《汉英综合辞典》缩印本，上海外语教育出版社，1991年，对“公司”的英译为“company”和“corporation”p.322。

单其昌主编《最新汉英对外经贸词典》，外语教学与研究出版社，1993年8月，第1版，P.263，对“公司”的英译1 company，2 corporation，3 Corp. 4 Co. 5 firm，因此，company和corporation成为我国翻译“公司”的首选之词。

但对二者的取舍，存在极大的分歧，无章可循。

例如：中国振华电子工业公司China Zhen Hua Electronic Industrial Corporation山东淄博电子工业公司Zibo Electronics Company海南电子工业公司Hainan Electronics Industry Corp.绍兴电子工业公司Zhenjiang Shaoxing Electronic Company依据英文词典的释义，有人认为就公司的规模而言，corporation大于company。

但这又不是绝对的；因为闻名世界的大公司也有使用Company的情况，如Shell Oil company，USA—JAPAN ELECTRONICS CO.。

所以大与小是相对的。

也有人就公司的范围而言，认为company在语域方面的适用范围宽于corporation。

摘要本文通过目前我国对“公司”、“有限责任公司”和“股份有限公司”的英译的混乱现象所做的探讨，旨在能够从实际出发，参照国外的状况又根据中国公司法中国名称固有的特点，灵活变通，进行规范，逐步形成一套具有中国特色的相对一致的英译方法。使每一公司有一个恰如其分的英译名，以利开展对外业务
2.把“national” 一词变为我国省份或公司所在大城市的汉语拼音进行翻译。因为我国企业素有使用注册地址命名的习惯，因而对各级全民所有制公司，这种做法是最简捷和普遍的。如：甘肃省机械进出口分公司―China Gansu Machinery Import & Export Corp.。

虽然股份有限公司与有限责任公司有其共同点，但是两者毕竟是有严格界线的，不能混为一谈。那么，英译这两类公司的名称时也应注意其区分。笔者最近翻阅李子福主编《中外电子材料、印制电路、表面贴装企事业名录》和国内40 多份期刊上一些公司名称的英译，发现对有限责任公司（简称有限公司）和股份有限公司的英译混淆不清。如：桂林机床股份有限公司(Guilin Machine Tool Co., Ltd.) ，杭州华盛机床有限公司(Hangzhou Huasheng Machine Tool Co., Ltd.) ，上海贝岭微电子制造有限公司(Shanghai Belling Microelectronics Mfg. Co., Ltd.) ，前锋电子股份有限公司(Qianfeng Electronic Co., Ltd.) 。把有限责任公司（有限公司）和股份有限公司都英译为“…Co., Ltd.”，但也有不同的英译。如：湖北金洋治金股份有限公司(Hubei Jinyang Metallurgical Incorporated Co., Ltd.) ，长虹电器股份有限公司(Changhong Electric Corp. Ltd.) 。下面就国内部分词（辞）典对这两类公司的英译列表如下：
4.将“总”字译为“international”。如：国际商用机器总公司International Business Machines Corporation。
有总，必有分支，下面归纳“分公司”、“支公司”或“子ห้องสมุดไป่ตู้司”的英译：
1.译为：“Subsidiary”，“branch” 或“office”。如Sanhong Electronic Device Co., Ltd. Shijiazhuang Branch, Sullair Corporation, Subsidiary of Sunstrand Corporation, MOTOROLA CHINA INC BEIJING REP. OFFICE。
戴鸣钟，戴炜栋主编《汉英综合辞典》缩印本，上海外语教育出版社，1991年，对“公司”的英译为“company”和“corporation”p.322。单其昌主编《最新汉英对外经贸词典》，外语教学与研究出版社，1993年8月，第1版，P.263，对“公司”的英译 1 company， 2 corporation， 3 Corp. 4 Co. 5 firm，因此，company和corporation成为我国翻译“公司”的首选之词。但对二者的取舍，存在极大的分歧，无章可循。例如：

3.译为“national”，用national来表示该行业的最上层机构或“总部”是十分贴切的。尤其是我国对外贸易经济合作部直属的一些企业，此译法值得一提。 “national”一词常置于China之后，但有时也有例外，置于“corporation”一词之前。如：中国技术进口总公司―China National Technical Import Corporation，中国五金进出口总公司China National Metals and Minerals Import and Export Corporation，中国华润总公司China resources National Corporation。

根据1999年12月25日第九届全国人民代表大会常务委员会第十三次会议《关于修改〈中华人民共和国公司法〉的决定》，第一章，总则第三条；有限责任公司和股份有限公司是企业法人。有限责任公司，股东以其出资额为限对公司承担责任。股份有限公司，其全部资本分为等额股份，股东以其所持股份为限对公司承担责任，公司以其全部资产对公司的债务承担责任。由此可见，有限责任公司与股份有限公司最主要的共同点是：股东对公司债务承担的责任都是有限的，都仅限于个人的出资额。股份有限公司区别于有限责任公司的特点包括：公司资本筹集的公开性（向社会公开发行股票的形式），股东出资的股份性，公司股票的流通性等等。
依据英文词典的释义，有人认为就公司的规模而言，corporation大于company。但这又不是绝对的；因为闻名世界的大公司也有使用Company的情况，如Shell Oil company，USA―JAPAN ELECTRONICS CO.。所以大与小是相对的。也有人就公司的范围而言，认为company在语域方面的适用范围宽于corporation。诸如联合开发公司 (United Development Company)，器材公司(Material Company)，商贸公司（Trading Company），实业公司(Industry Company)，石油公司(Oil Company)，信托公司(Trust Company)，保险公司[Insurance Company (Corporation)]，航运公司(Shipping Company)，出版公司(Publishing Company)，化妆品公司[Cosmetics Corporation (Company)]，集团公司(Group Company)，大多数使用company一词，但二者之间也没有什么严格的界限。还有人认为按英美等国的法律，corporation一定是具有独立法人资格的大公司，在美国英语中corporation指股份有限公司，如Unicorn Microelectronics Corp.，但在美国具有法人资格的大公司也不乏采用company。如：Engineered Components Co.，与Gulf Energy and Minerals Company。还有人认为从语体角度来看，company通俗而corporation较为正式，但这也是相对而言的。另外，在英美的一些公司名称中，也有以老板的名字命名，而不用company和corporation的情况。如Harris(哈里斯公司)Dickerson(狄格森公司)。因此我们说，有规则，就有例外。以上诸方面的探讨对“公司”英译的规范是具有重大意义的。
2.在“Company” 和“corporation”之前加上“General”一词，general与company或corporation紧放在一起，中间不被其它修饰成份隔开，以免产生歧义。虽然这种译法在国内逐渐被大家接受，但在英美国家的公司名称中实际使用general一词的并不多见。如：中国航空工业总公司 ―China Space Industry general Company，北京建筑材料集团公司―Beijing Construction Material Group general Corp.，哈里斯总公司（美）Harris Corp,。
“公司”、“有限责任公司”“股份有限公司”的英译

摘要本文通过目前我国对“公司”、“有限责任公司”和“股份有限公司”的英译的混乱现象所做的探讨，旨在能够从实际出发，参照国外的状况又根据中国公司法中国名称固有的特点，灵活变通，进行规范，逐步形成一套具有中国特色的相对一致的英译方法。使每一公司有一个恰如其分的英译名，以利开展对外业务
2.把“national” 一词变为我国省份或公司所在大城市的汉语拼音进行翻译。因为我国企业素有使用注册地址命名的习惯，因而对各级全民所有制公司，这种做法是最简捷和普遍的。如：甘肃省机械进出口分公司―China Gansu Machinery Import & Export Corp.。
3.将省份名、地名置于句首或置于“Co., Ltd.”“Corp.”之前，并用括号括起来，这是一种典型简捷的方法。如：南京四通计算机分公司Nanjing Stone Computer corp.或者Stone Computer (Nanjing) Corporation。但在分清“分公司”与“总公司”之间的关系时，又是见仁见智。
