试题紧扣《课标》对英语教学目标的要求，内容紧跟时代，贴近学生生活实际，力求凸显英语语言的工具性和人文性。
试卷侧重考查学生英语语言综合运用能力，关注英语学习中的情感因素、跨文化意识和创新思维培养，继续向师生呼吁要走出题海，回归教材，立足基础，着眼运用，品味生活，拓展思维，并在减轻学生课业负担方面进行一定的探索实践。
一、试题总体特点和典型试题分析1．精心设计情境，立足基础，着眼运用2012年中考试卷中的单选题、完形填空、选词填空题、句子翻译题凸显了立足基础、着眼应用的特点。
