从话题上讲，本单元以世界不同地方人们的生活为话题，课文教学通过阅读材料使学生了解不同时区的时间差，以及不同地方人们在同一时间的活动。
从语言功能上讲，本模块训练的是现在进行时态的肯、否定形式和一般疑问句形式，在巩固第一单元所学知识的基础上，本单元进一步加强否定及疑问形式的训练。
另外，本单元借助课文内容涉及到的空间的变换，写作练习旨在借此教会学生书写明信片。
三．教学对象分析1．学生初中阶段尚未学习过现在进行时，这一语法项目对学生来说比较难于掌握。
2．世界不同国家人的生活习惯对学生来说吸引力极大，应充分利用学生的兴趣，锻炼其阅读能力。
