JOB INTERVIEWB group 3黄聪 刘颖 陈文希 黄燕琳
KAI-FU LEE:
The internship interview
At the beginning of the second summer holiday of my college life, I began searching for a part-time job to enrich my social practice. By way of one of my friends, I got an opportunity to work in the Goldman Sachs.
Because the company has some sensitive information, they attach much importance to the quality of their staff. They adopted the LIE detector to test their interviewers. I had never seen a real LIE detector before, so although I had never done anything wrong, I felt a little nervous.
The interview is a critical aspect of your job search. To land the job you must convince the employer that you’re the right person for the job. For assistance in developing your skills use the following interview guidelines, tips, and suggestions.
Before I made my explanation, the interviewee said: You have a very good character, come here and work tomorrow.” My heart beat even more quick now.
Reviewing these experiences, almost every job give me different feelings, and my knowledge of the society increased every time I worked. Through all these experiences, I learned that how the world evaluate me, what kind of quality is needed in me, and what kind of adjustment I need to make.
“Are you sure that you don’t? Then why you have a quicker heart beat now?” At that time, I thought: Can bridge be called a kind of gamble? I really have played bridge with my classmates some times, having some small wager on it. “Why your have so quick a heart beat? How much you lose every week? A thousand? Five hundred?” He made a detailed inquiry. I explained immediately, “Just when I play bridge with some classmates.” He then asked with a severe mood: “Really? Please tell me the truth!” I gasped in admiration: It’s so pitiful! Am I bound to lose such a good job just because of that I have ever staked in bridge?
Preparation for the job interview
1/Be physically and mentally prepared Start preparing for interviews long before you actually have one scheduled. Decide what to wear days before the interview. Make sure your clothes are wrinkle free with a nice crisp look, shoes are polished. Prepare additional copies of your resume and transcripts in case there are several interviewers. Also, it would be helpful to know ahead of time if it is a group or individual interview.
At the beginning, the interviewee asked: “Do you often drink to excess?” “No.” “Have you ever taken drugs?” “No.” “Have you ever peculated any pubic funds?” “No.” “Do you gamble?” “No.”
