Tell Me More精讲之填字游戏篇

Tell Me More精讲之填字游戏篇(本文转载自舍得的新浪博客)填字游戏,CrossWord Puzzle,西方人很喜欢的游戏。

《六人行》(《Friends》)里也多次出现过做填字游戏的情景,只不过玩法略有不同。

大家可以找一份《China Daily》,上面就有这样的游戏,可以去体验一下其中的乐趣,只不过对于词汇量小的朋友来说,颇有些难度。

不过Tell Me More中的填字游戏要简单地多,因为它只和读音和拼写挂钩,词意如何,则是撇在一边的。

(PS:其实它有两种方式,除本文介绍的这一种之外,另一种是看词意填单词,不过后者在现有的版本中都已经被禁用了。

)这样就大大降低了这个游戏的难度,同时带来了另外两种好处:一是校正你的听力,一些类似的音随着你的练习的深入,你会逐渐分辨出它们之间的细微区别,这个能力太棒了。

舍得经常说,要想发音准,先要听得清。

就象唱歌一样,你连自己唱得调和词对不对都不知道,光在那吼,还自得其乐,怎么可能会有进步呢!做这个练习的第一好处就在这里。

二是训练你的拼写能力,拼写能力是猜出来的,猜的同时,你要不断地去总结,这样下去,单词不再是“一个个”字母组成,而是由“一串串”字母组成的。

比如你听到“”这个音的时候,你至少能想到“tion”这样的组合,而随着你的经验的增加,你可能还会去猜是不是“tien"(patience)。

在这样的学习中,能熟练使用演绎法和归纳法的朋友会比较占便宜一些。

下面来讲讲具体的使用。

以向导模式为例(此时舍得要为TMM的界面设计正一下名,原先舍得也有这样的误解:课程表中的练习图标上没有文字,需要拿鼠标放上去才会显示内容,舍得觉得这样很不合理。

现在想想自己的想法确实有一些偏颇,我们所在的位置是向导模式,向导模式的本意就是“你不用去管下面该做什么,一切都给你规划好了”。

你根本不需要知道练习叫什么名字,一步一步往下学就行了。

如果想自由选择练习的话,那你应该选“漫游模式”):点击课程表中的“填字游戏(通常位于偶数行第8个按钮)”按钮,进入填字游戏的主界面:在这个界面中,你只需要关注三个部分:一是左侧的小喇叭,点它可以重复听当前行的单词;二是右侧的字谜区,这是你的主战场,当前行显示为蓝色,你要把你听到的单词填到这里,填错某个字母的话,点击那个字母,输入一个新的就可以改掉;三是右上角的一组按钮,你可能会用到第二个“更正”(打勾标记)按钮和第三个“解答”(灯泡标记)按钮。
