Tradition and innovation(传统与创新)

Tradition is the root of a country. We must come to see that it doesn't mean a dependency on conservative values or a strong attachment to the past, but that it's a profound reflection of history and culture. A tradition is a ritual, belief or object passed down generation by generation within a society, also a basic character of a society still maintained at present, with origins in the past. Therefore, to respect and carry forward fine tradition is to remember the history and inherit the culture.

In the other aspect, innovation is the driving force of social development and the initial source of national progress. Through continuous innovations, science and technology take out a large amount of revolutionary breakthroughs. We are all aware of the big place that technology occupies in our lives, which is shaping our homes, cars, mobile phones, etc. What's more, a parallel movement towards innovation in the different economic and social fields is underway. It's no exaggeration to say that innovation has hugely changed our lives.

However, the problem we face with is how to coordinate tradition and innovation. Abandoning the tradition, innovation is like a building of no foundation, which is easy to collapse. And without innovation, tradition is just as standstill wheels, which couldn't keep up with the pace of times. So what we should do is to make a perfect combination of tradition and innovation. That is, we are supposed to enhance innovation spirit on the basis of inheriting tradition.
