因而,对于广告的翻译, 我们不能追求只要是广告就翻译,这会失去广告翻译的慎重性。
但广告毕竟要达到宣传的目的,促使消费者去购买商品, 所以广告语的翻译甚是讲究。
广告语是集经济、文化、宣传、美学为一体的鼓动性的艺术言(loaded artistic language), 为使翻译有效地成为这种语言, 现从以下三个方面进行探讨。
一、译文亦注意仿拟
仿拟(parody), 又称“仿化”, 既仿照, 又变化。
也就是说译者可以通过对人们所熟悉的某些谚语、格言、名句等适当地进行改头换面, 构成一种很新颖的表达方式, 就可以成为某一商品的商业广告。
仿化波及的可以是一个或几个单词, 也可以是一个句子, 这种广告要能吸引消费者的眼力。
仿拟要严格遵循创意原则, 在完全理解汉语广告的表层内容、深层含义及产品形象的基础上, 将要套用的英文广告或谚语、格言的语言个性、深刻哲理及艺术特征, 灵活巧妙地改写, 突出该产品的引人注目的特色及产品形象, 从而在读者记忆中产生其美学作用(aesthetic function)和购物的指导功能(guiding function)。
日本在20 世纪90 年代有一份推销打字机的英文广告, 广告词是:
Don’t say,“show me another”.
Say “give me brother”.
Brother 是英文打字机的商标。
现在的广州黑妹牌牙膏也有一份广告, 它的汉语广告词是:“黑妹”牙膏, 强健牙龈, 保护牙齿”。

而且这不仅仅是语言的锤炼与雕琢,往往还涉及到很多深层次的文化问题。
如果处理不当,只会自掘坟墓,而这样的例子也是不少的。
