My friends and I have had some epic leaf fights and made lots of leaf angels too!The winter in Riverside is like something out of a Christmas movie. We usually get a few big snowstorms that blanket everything in thick white powder. My brother and I spend hours outside building snowmen, making snow angels, and having snowball battles. I love sledding too - there's a huge hill at the park that's perfect for it. I always try to go as fast as I can! And when I catch the delicate crystal flakes on my tongue, they tasteso light and cold. Pretty much as soon as it snows, my friends and I get bundled up to enjoy the winter wonderland.I also have to mention that our downtown is really charming and picturesque. I love the old-fashioned looking shops with their colorful awnings and window displays. The ice cream parlour, toy store, and bookshop are my favorite places to visit and spend my allowance! There's also a town square with a big fountain where events are held throughout the year like outdoor concerts, art shows, and festivals. I always look forward to the Easter egg hunt, Fourth of July parade and fireworks display, and Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The whole community comes out to celebrate together.What I love most about Riverside though is the friendliness of the people. This is a small town where everyone seems to know everyone and people greet each other by name on the streets. The shop owners take the time to chat with you and remember what you like. There's also a real sense of community spirit here - folks look out for each other and lend a hand. My neighbors grow fruits and vegetables that they're always sharing, and people decorate their houses for every season and holiday.
