Chinese calligraphy
I am glad to have this opportunity to introduce Chinese calligraphy, a precious cultural heritage, and its contribution to Chinese tourism.
In china, there is an old saying: “No matter how high the mountain is, it will become famous if there is an immortal; no matter how deep the water is, it will get holy if there is a Chinese dragon.” Chinese calligraphy is like to the immortal of the mountain and the Chinese dragon of the water.
China calligraphy is quite different from other forms of writing. During their long history of development, Chinese characters have evolved into many different forms of Art, including the oracle bone inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, seal script, official script, regular script, running script and cursive script. Many Chinese characters belong to the hieroglyphics and know meaning from their shape. Whether knife carving calligraphy or brush calligraphy all have artistic effectth rough their shape’s exaggeration. Therefore, calligraphy has been a subject of artistic. Chinese calligrapher devoted a lot of effort to study calligraphy art form, rules and theories for thousands of years. Their achievements produced a great influence on Chinese characters calligrapher in North Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian countries. These calligrapher visited China frequently and explored the art of calligraphy. Traditional calligraphy of Chinese characters has not impacted by outside world, which is a major tourism resource in our country.
Most tourist areas have countless stone inscriptions in China (many of them were engraved inscription on the precipitous rock faces and sheer cliffs) plaque and the scrolls of poetic couplet in halls. Each dynasty inscriptions are in Guilin Qixingyan where is famousto stone.
Calligraphic relics in the tourist areas mainly consist of tablet forest and stone carving. For example, built in 1091 in the "Xi'an stele forest" there was a large number of the stone carving work of Zhou and Qin period. For those who are interested in regarding calligraphy as an art form, Confucian Temple in QuFuand Temple of Dai in mountain Tai is no doubt to visit. Both have hundreds of pieces of calligraphic styles of stone carving and tablet.
Many poets and monks wrote on precipitous rock faces and sheer cliffs to express feelings when they visited in Chinese history. Fortunately, many of their works were well preserved.
In addition to the stone cliff works, leaving the word in silk and paper is the more common form of calligraphy. Whatever form appearing of Chinese Characters Calligraphy will continue to attract overseas tourists.
