If you didn't understand something and had to ask for clarification, he'd let out this big dramatic sigh and say something like "Weren't you listening? I already went over this!" Or if you didn't get an assignment finished, he would snatch it off your desk and shout "What, you couldn't be bothered to do the work I assigned?" Not exactly making students feel safe, respected, and wanting to learn.I remember kids used to actually try to fake being sick to avoid his class. That's just not right for a teacher to make the school environment so unpleasant that kids dread coming.So when grading day rolled around for Mr. Franklin, you'd better believe my classmates and I went to town giving him terrible scores and leaving all kinds of constructive criticisms about how he could improve. Things like "Be more patient and helpful when students don't understand" and "Find ways to make your lessons more interactive and engaging" and "Work on your classroom management skills."
