Apparently4 sensitive to criticism, the bull forgot all about the matador and charged at the drunk. The crowd suddenly grew quiet. The drunk, however, seemed quite sure of himself. When the bull got close to him, he clumsily stepped aside to let it pass. The crowd broke into cheers and the drunk bowed. By this time, however, three men had come into the ring and they quickly dragged the drunk to safety.

Okay, let's dive into Lesson 70 of New Concept English, Book 2. This one's really interesting, so let's get started!First up, the dialogue between the two friends is so natural. They're talking about a trip to the seaside, and you can almost feel the sea breeze and hear the waves. The way they describe the scenery is just so vivid. Then, there's the part where they talk about booking tickets. One of them mentions using the Internet, and it's such a casual reference to modern technology. It's likethey're just having a normal conversation, but it's also showing us how the world has changed.Another cool thing is the way they talk about the weather. They're discussing whether it'll be sunny or rainy, and it just feels so real. Like, you know, when you're planning a trip, the weather is always a big concern.Oh, and did you notice how they slipped in some vocabulary practice? They used words like "seaside," "sunny," and "book tickets" in natural conversation. It's a great way to learn new words and phrases. And finally, the end of the lesson is just so upbeat. They're both excited about the trip, and you can feel their enthusiasm through the words. It's a great reminder that learning English can be fun and exciting, too!。

The pictures it sent us were very disappointing because its main mirror was faulty! 可以判断出只有b. there was a problem with its main mirror 与课文实际内容相符,其他3个选择都与课文事实不符。

2. a根据课文第10-11行the Hubble will tell us a great deal about the age and size of the universe 可以判断只有a. will tell us a great deal about the universe 是课文所提及的内容,其他3个选择都不是课文所涉及的内容。

3. c只有c. will be repairing(将要修理)与前一句中的is going to put...right(准备修正)的时态和意义相符合,所以应该选c.

a. is repairing,b. has already repaired 都与前一句时态不符合;d. to repair 是动词不定式,不能做谓语,不符合语法.4. c只有 c. will be taken (将被送上)这个句子才能意思通顺。

因为该句需要被动语态:four astronauts will be taken to the Hubble(宇航员将被送上哈勃)。

其他3个选择都不是被动语态,所以选c.5. a只有a. for 可以引导表示目的的短语,在句子中做目的状语,而其他3个选择b. so that, c. so long as 和d. which 都只能引导从句而不能跟名词短语,因此选a.6. da. when, 和c. while 这两个词意思相同,都可以引导时间状语从句,表示当.... 所以我们选择d.7. ca. As soon as , 和b. Before 表示“在……

funny(可笑的,滑稽的);c. nuisance(讨厌的人),d. cruel(残酷的)都不够恰当,不符合课文的内容。
a. run

a. moved(移动);b. damaged(损害,损伤);c. packaged(把……

Lesson 70
1. d
Apparently sensitive to criticism, the bull forgot all about the matador and charged at the drunk 能够判断,只有d. and attracted the bull’s attention 与课文的内容相符合,其他3个选择都与课文的事实不符。

2. b

a. he will,
b. that he will, d. he may

才合乎语法. a. passing, b. to pass, c. in passing 都不能用在let 后面,只有d. pass 是不带to 的动词不定式,所以应该选d.
6. b
Up till that time 和 d. ; c. So far(到当前为止)只能用于现在完成时.

a. turn, b. to turn 都不合乎语法;d. it was turning 是过去实行时,一般不适合于以before 或者after 引导的状语从句中;只有c. it turned 是一般过去时,最合乎语法,所以应该选c.
8. a
a. conscious of (意识到,知道的),
b. knowledgeable
about(对…… 敏感的), d. sensible about(对…… 是unaware of 的反义词,所以选a.
9. c

a. increased(增加),
b. began(开始),d. behaved(表现)这3个词都不能做系动词,所以都不对。

a. in 与aside 意思相反;b. on 与aside 意思不同,不合乎题目意思;c. this 不是准确的表达方式,意思不通;只有d.
11. d
本句只有选d. felt sorry for 才能同前一句(It looked on sympathetically)的意思最接近。

12. c
a. taking care of ,
