• Parallelism: • Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us. • Let both sides, for the first time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms--and bring the absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations. • Let both sides seek to invoke the wonders of science instead of its terrors. Together let us explore the stars, conquer the deserts, eradicate disease, tap the ocean depths, and encourage the arts and commerce. • Let both sides unite to heed in all corners of the earth the command of Isaiah--to "undo the heavy burdens ... and to let the oppressed go free." • These four “let both sides……”make the lines more powerful. • Audience can get the idea easily from these carefully-structured lines.

Kennedy’s victory is all the people’s victory.
“We observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom-symbolizing an end, as well as a beginning--signifying renewal, as well as change…”

• Contrasts and Parallelism • Contrsats: • 『And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country. • My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man. • 』 • These lines use contrasts like “ask not”, “but” to emphasize his point of view. • Dr. Max Atkinson from BBC said that The poetic "ask not" quotation is among the speech's most memorable lines.

• Join F.Kennedy was the most popular president in U.S. history. • Americans evaluate him as one of the five greatest presidents in history.
Kennedy’s victory is all the people’s victory. • Kennedy, as a spirited image, he called on people to pursue freedom, human rights, etc. He took vigorous action in the cause of equal rights calling for new civil rights legislation. He wished America to resume its old mission as the first dedicated to the revolution of human rights. With the Alliance for Progress and the Peace Corps, he brought American idealism to the aid of developing nations and leaded the nation on its longest sustained expansion since WWII.
