Describe a person who has an interesting job.
Describe a useful advice you have received.

I do not watch TV that often nowadays but when I was a student, I used to watch televisions a lot. There are lots of programs that really liked and watched regularly. In those days I watch mostly news and some selective TV programs. The TV program that made a strong impression on me was a documentary that I watched on Discovery Channel. The TV program was called “The sacrifice of genius” and it was a serial that had around 10 episodes. I watched all of those episodes and enjoyed a lot. This was mainly a documentary serial which emphasized the sacrifice the famous and genius scientists like Marie Curie, Thomas Edison and 8 other scientists.I watched the TV program in my third year of my graduation program. In our local time, the program was broadcasted at 9.00 pm every Thursday. The program showed the life and work of the famous scientists and the sacrifices they made for humans and to make the world a better place. These stories were presented in a fascinating way and were very professionally made. The spectators would have the impression that they were actually watching the real scientists and their works.I have learned so many things about those scientists and learned the sacrifices they made. Those sacrifices were unbelievable and after watching this program, I could not stop thinking about those famous scientist and their supreme sacrifices. This program has helped me thinking in a different perspective that sacrifices for others can be more important thanpersonal achievements like wealth, fame and self-awareness. I later searched about details of those scientists and other famous persons as well and learned many things. I was actually inspired by this program and started learning closely about the people who made the world a place where we no longer need to live in the dark and do not have to fight the wild animals to earn our foods.Similar Cue Card topics that you should be able to answer as well:1. Describe a TV programme that you watched and would like to watch again2. Describe a radio or TV program that you like.3. Describe a famous TV program in your country.4. Describe a TV program that you watched and did not like.5. Describe a TV program you have recently watched.6. Describe a comedy show that you watched. You should sayWhat are educational TV programs? What function do they have? How they influence people?Recently, the discussion on western public service broadcasting system and public media problem has become a popular issue. Public service broadcasting, which is generally believed to originate in UK, is a pervasive broadcasting system based on the aim of serving the public interest. Their products contribute to the spread of freedom, pluralism, education prosperity and high quality program production. In this system, educational TV programs are the vital parts. For instance, the Open University program, which is produced by BBC, has beenaired for more than forty years. It is so successful that it set a good example for the other public educational programs. Many British people who don’t have a chance to study in a college have learned knowledge from this program. Because of this program, some of them are able to seek further education and get a college degree, which offers them more opportunities for better jobs. Moreover, the services have provided a competitive relationship with other media services agencies, leading to the increase in service quality of this industry. With the support of the UK government, BBC’s programs grow so fast. They are able to produce independent educational programs without any influence from other forces. That is to say, they can broadcast the truth faithfully. It offers a chance for people to speak freely with a neutral, equitable and objective stand. Describe an educational TV program. You should say:what the program iswhat type of program it iswhat contents it hasand explain what you learned from the program.I’d like to talk about a program from my childhood called “How 2”, I believe it’s originally a British TV show that was televised in my country with subtitles. The presenters certainly spoke with a British accent. It’s hard to pin down exactly what type of program it was, I guess a mixture of science and history, with some everyday facts thrown in for good measure. The title itself is a play on words, as the series would show you ‘how to’ do certain things. The show is aimed at kids in middle school or high school. The hosts would routinely do experiments to demonstrate science in action, I remember one in particular where the presenters were trying to pour water out of a bottle in the quickest way possible. The winner had a very good technique whereby she would swirl the water, creating a vortex and causing the liquid to fly out of the bottle far quicker than any of the others’.As you would expect, the show got me interested in science and learning, but it also showed that you could do many experiments yourself and have fun at home, with everyday objects and materials that were easy to get hold of. At school we would need equipment and the teacher would have to supervise us, but at home we could be left to our own devices, with just a bottle and some water to keep us amused.

Describe a visitor in your homeYou should say:Who was this visitorWhen did he/she visit your homeWhy did he/she come to visitAnd explain whether you like him/her or not雅思口语8分范文:I’m going to talk about an occasion when a very close friend of mine visited where I live.He is a Chinese person. His real name is Xin Lin, but we usuallycall him by his English name, which is Steven. He was studying in the same university with me in England when we did our Master’s last year, and we both lived in the same flat in the university halls of residence. We were so close with each other because we spent a lot of time cooking and talking with each other, but we have n’t met for a few months since we left England. So the occasion was a month ago when he visited Vietnam to travel. He had never been to my country although China is right next to Vietnam. So, he decided to come to my country to visit me.We were really excited to meet each other again, and he was excited as well to come to my house for the first time. I invited him for dinner, and I myself cooked something very special for him, which was a traditional Vietnamese dish. We talked a lot during the meal, and we reminded each other of the memories we shared in England.I was very happy when Steven came to see me. The reason is because we had not had a chance to see each other for a long time, and you know, it always feels good seeing an old friend. The occasion brought back a lot of good memories that I think I can never forget. 1. In your country, how do people treat visitors?I think people in my country are generally very hospitable, and they are usually very welcoming when having visitors. They would usually be willing to invite visitors to have dinner, especially if the person is a close friend or a relative.2. Do you think hospitality is less important than it was in the past?I do not think so. I believe it has always been important for people to be friendly and welcoming to people visiting their houses. It is even more crucial to behave properly with visitors coming from other countries such as tourists, because the way local people treat tourists can have a great effect on the image of a country. So, I think hospitality is as important today as it was in the past.3. What are the benefits of staying with a friend when visiting a new place?Well, the biggest advantage is that you can save money when staying in a friend’s house. This is because it is usually expensive when staying in hotels. Another benefit is that when you stay with your friend when coming to a new place, your journey is likely to be more interesting and enjoyable. If you stay alone, you might get bored and lonely.4. What are the advantages of staying in a hotel instead? It would be more convenient to stay in a hotel, I guess. Hotels are usually located close to the main tourist attractions of a city, so it will be less time-consuming if travellers choose a hotel. Also, you can receive good services from the hotel. For example, you can have free breakfast ready in the morning, while you will need to spend time cooking when you stay with a friend.雅思口语话题part2高分范文之城市角落(a place in your city you want to go to)Describe a place in your city you want to go toYou should say:What is this placeWhere is this placeWhy you like this placeAnd explain what do you want to do there1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:城市角落(a place in your city youwant to go to)There are lots of places I like to go, depending on my mood. Today ‘though, I’m going to tell you about a special place near to where I live. I will explain where it is and how I get there. I will try and describe what it looks like and explain why I like the location so much.I am lucky, although I live in a city, from my house I can walk to the edges of the Peak District, which is a beautiful national park just a few miles from the city centre. To get to the national park I have to walk from my house down some local roads, and up a steep hill past some allotments. After about a mile or so striding out away from the urban areas, I get to a lovely bit of woodland which has a public footpath you can follow on wards and upwards. It can be a bit of a scramble towards the end of the path as it is very steep indeed, but eventually, you leave the woodland and are on the edge of open farmland. Another footpath crosses some sheep-filled fields, and finally, you are on the moors of the Peak District. It is really spectacular. The Peak District can be a really wild place, with its vast expanses of open moorland. You are high up, and it is quite exposed so it can be very windy and cold even in the summer. There are rocky outcrops and strange configurations of stones that have been weathered by centuries of wind and rain to create dramatic shapes. Some boulders are in piles, and there are steep vertical cliffs too. The area attracts lots of people who like walking, climbing and bouldering because of its unique and beautiful landscape. Everywhere is dark wet peat underfoot and lots of heathers. This is a low growing plant that flowers at the end of the summer turning the wholelandscape purple. The park covers a huge area, I think around 555 square miles, so the terrain differs from area to area, of course, I am biased, but I believe I live near the most remarkably beautiful part.I love this place, because if ever I am feeling down, or a bit enclosed, in just an hours walk I can find myself in a deserted but picturesque place, where the elements are more extreme. In winterrain and wind can batter you, but in summer the sky seems to go on forever. Every day is different up there, and every hour of every day too. The area is so huge, that often you can have it all to yourself, of course, there are other walkers about, but you can quickly disappear in the vastness of the space. The people who live in Sheffield, like me, are very proud that we are so near to the Peak District National Park, and it is no surprise it became the United Kingdom's first national park on 17 April 1951. A birthday that should be celebrated I think!PART 31. The real summer in Canada lasts only two months, July and August. During these two months, thetemperature climbs above 20 and it's always sunny. The trees become green again and the whole city is full of various flowers. Day timeis longer and night time is shorter. Most time we have sunlight until 10 in the evening. The reason that I like summer is because summer time is the best season for outdoor activities. I love hiking, jogging, and biking. I can go to national parks or city parks easily in summer. Summer gives me so much fun.Just like what I've said, I love hiking, jogging, and biking in summer. I still remember I went to different national parks last summer for hiking. I saw beautiful lakes and mountains. I even encountered a bear looking for food, which was pretty amazing experience.Weather may affect people' choice of activities. It's warm outside in summer, so more people will choose outdoor activities. We always have more music festivals or food festivals in summer. Winter is super cold in Canada. People would like to stay home instead of going outside. Describe a person that you want to know more aboutWho is he or she? When did you meet this person?Where have you met? What did you do?Why do you want to know more about him or her? (Describe a person that you want to know more about)I love to meet new people. Today, I would like to talk about acharismatic person I met a year ago.Last year I was going to Mumbai by train for an official meeting. On the way, a young lady boarded the train from a small railway station. She occupied the seat in front of me. Very soon we started talking about our hobbies, studies and work etc. Her name was Sukriti Singh. She was a second-year student of the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. One particular thing which made her quite special was her high confidence level. Normally, girls don’t travel alone in my country. In most cases, they are accompanied by their parents or some other family member. But, since she was on her own, that clearly reflected her boldness.I found this girl very interesting. Her in-depth knowledge of latest technology and space science made me re-think about my opinion about females. I used to think that Indian women are only interested in fashion. Science is not their cup of tea. But, this meeting was a real mind-changer. She helped open my eyes towards the commonattitude of ignorance males have towards females regarding their intelligence. Now, I fully understand that women have the potential to succeed in any field. Describe a public place that you think need improvementsYou should say:What the place isWhen do you go thereWhat do you like and dislike in the public place1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:改进公共设施(public place that you think need improvements)The public place that I think need improvements is the community library near my home. I often go there after work, probably twice a week. There are several aspects I like about the library. The first one is the whole atmosphere. Every time I go into the library, I can see people in all ages reading books, surfing in the internet, discussing questions, or watching movies, which makes me feel peaceful. The second one is the variety of books. It not only has Chinese books but also some English books. The third one is the easy access to all the materials. Application to the library card is easy and free. People can borrow 6 books for one time. However, there are some parts I don't like about the library. For example, the library doesn't have a quiet study area. It's pretty noisy for people or students who want to study lonely and quietly. The library can consider to build a quiet study room in the future.雅思口语话题part2高分范文之:未来居住的城市(city or country you want to live)Describe a city or country you most want to live in the future You should say:What is itWhere is it locatedWhy do you like it1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:改进公共设施(public place that you think need improvements)The city I most want to live in the future is Guangzhou. Guangzhou is famous for dim sum, and dim sum is myfavorite food.雅思口语话题part2高分范文之:从某处(人)学会(sth you learned in a place/from a person)Describe something you learned in a place/from a personYou should say:What was it that you learnedWhen did this happenWhere was it/ Who taught youHow difficult was it to learn1-4月雅思口语新题part 2范文之:从某处(人)学会(Describe sth you learned in a place/from a person)Several years ago, I tried to learn how to bake cakes in rice cooker and succeeded in making it. My roommate is a baking genius and she taught me to bake cakes at home.Learning how to bake cakes in rice cooker was pretty difficult because of several reasons. First of all, the portions of materials used were hard to control because I didn't have enough professional cooking tools. I estimated all the materials and merged together. I actually failed once, and succeeded at the second time. Secondly, baking cakes in rice cooker is different from baking in oven. I couldn't change the temperature of rice cooker and I couldn't know how well the cake became with the time passing by either. I had to guess and make sure the cake was not over-cooked. I had to pay more attention to the cake and couldn't leave the cake alone. The last difficult thing was how to take the cake out of the rice cooker. I had to slip the whole cake into a plate with some skills.雅思口语话题part2高分范文之:好的服务(where you received a good service)Describe an occasion where you received a good service from a company or shopYou should say:What the service wasWhen and where it happenedWhom you were together withHow you felt about itAnd explain why you think it was good service1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:好的服务(an occasion where you received a good service from a company or shop)Two years ago, I succeeded in returning a broken sweater to customer service at ABC store in Canada with my friend. However, I found it's broken after being washed on the same day. I took this sweater to the store, wishing I could return it by some luck because usually clothes couldn't be returned or exchanged after being washed. The lady was so nice. Sheapologized immediately after listening to my request. She said it's their quality problem and promised to refund in 3 business days. She apologized again for the poor quality and shopping experience. Ididn't expect it could be solved so smoothly and easily. I would like to shop there again just for their great service.。

Media

Media1. What are the main media outlets in China today?A long time ago most people were only able to get news from radio; a few families were able afford a black and white television. The media outlets in China today are same as everywhere else. Television and radio broadcasts, the internet, and magazines are used and released just like any other country. The only difference may be that the government may censor them a little more, but the past china was even more closed off to world events and the government was even less open.2. What are some of the main differences between getting information from magazines and getting information from other media such as TV or the internet?Magazines do not give daily information; they only put out issues once a month. You can get daily updates from other media sources like the internet, newspaper, or television. Information magazines, newspapers, and television are not always reliable.3. How could we avoid unreliable information appearing on the internet?First, check out the author to see a name you recognize. Check his or her credentials and if they’ve been around for a while. Also you can check if you are able to find their articles on any creditable news websites. If not, this does not mean they don’t know their stuff, but it may raise a flag, that perhaps their article could be incorrect. The best of the best are often featured on famous news sites and have published a number of articles, so there will likely be at the very least, some reference to them.4. Do you think watching TV is a good way to get information?I think most news on television is too short. It does not give you all the information on aIt can be a good way to get quick news, and to get started on what is going on in the world, but television is not very informative. The best journalists are not usually on television; plus, you only get a few bias opinions by news companies owned by other big companies. I think news should be received from non-bias journalists that work just to give their own personal opinions, or just to report the facts; so that you can interpret the facts and conclude on your own opinions.。

They both go out of their way to try to help out family member that they like. They are both faithful to their husbands. They are also both very stubborn when it comes to needing to go to the doctor or hospital... neither of them wants to go.When I first met them, except for the color of their hair, I almost could not tell them apart. They are both kind of tall and VERY skinny. Their frames are so small and petite. They both have rather thin hair, long faces, and high cheek bones.Except for the few ways they are alike as far as their personalities, thats where it ends. They dont get along very well at all, mainly because my sister-in-law has an attitude with anyone who tries to give her advice or if she knows she is wrong about something when it is pointed out. They may look very similar and have some of the same personality traits, but the way each carries themselves and portrays their personality is very different, another reason I think they dont get along very well together.

I read newspaper almost every day and sometimes I purchase or borrow magazines to read as well. I'd like to describe a magazine that I usually buy each month and enjoy reading a lot. The name of this magazine is PC World which is a global computer magazine published monthly by IDG in USA. It offers advice on various aspects of PCs and related items, the Internet, and other personal-technology products and services. In each publication, PC World reviews and tests hardware and software products from a variety of manufacturers, as well as other technology related devices such as still and video cameras, audio devices and televisions.I have been reading this magazine for the last 6-7 years or so. It is specifically useful for people who love computers, other technology devices; software and IT related news and updates. I am doing my graduation in Computer Science and Engineering and love to learn about new hardware and software. This is a magazine that offers great hardware & software reviews, tips on advanced computing and many other useful articles.Reading a newspaper or a magazine is always helpful for learning new information. Newspapers provide contemporary local news, international news, editorials, entertainment, news, sports news and so on. Without reading newspapers or magazines one can't keep himself / herself updated with the latest news and views of the world.I purchase the PC World magazine every month and read it for about 7 days. Sometimes I read older versions as well to find out any particular reviews or articles. This magazine is helpful for basic, moderate and advanced computer users and techno lovers. Someone who has a computer should read it to increase his/ her knowledge on hardware and software. Even it’s helpful for those who are going to buy computers, printers, cameras, scanners, software or other hardware devices. I enjoy reading it a lot.Tips for answering this Cue Card Topic:To answer this cue card, first decide if you are going to talk about a newspaper or a magazine. If you want to talk about a newspaper, decide which one you would like to talk. For the magazine you should finalize the magazine name also. Deciding a particular newspaper or magazine would help you focus on the features and characteristics of it. There are some differences between a daily newspaper and a magazine. If you decide to talk about the magazine focus on following points:a) What type of magazine it is: weekly, monthly etc.b) what's it about: Lifestyle, technology, fun, business travel, fashion etc.c) For magazine describe the topics and issues it covers. Like a computer magazine covers the software and hardware reviews, tips on computing, tutorials, and price list etc. whereas a fashion magazine highlights the current trends in fashion, new arrivals and focus on brands.d) Why do I read it? Entertainment, tutorials, academic or professional benefits, new recipes etc.e) Why this magazine is better than similar other magazines? Article presentation, economic, has subscription facility, exclusive etc.If you talk about a newspaper focus on their news presentation, editorial and overall contribution to help people get unbiased and quality news and articles.Since, almost all the daily newspapers cover same type of news i.e. political, sports, editorial, international, business etc. you should focus less on the type of news they present. Rather emphasize what makes it a worth reading newspaper.Use the same techniques to answer the following cue cards also:1. Describe a magazine that you read often.2. Describe the newspaper that you read daily.3. Describe you favourite magazine.

She apologized immediately after listening to my request. She said it's their quality problem and promised to refund in 3 business days. She apologized again for the poor quality and shopping experience. I didn't expect it could be solved so smoothly and easily.
You should say:When you received itWho sent itWhat it was aboutWhy it was important to you1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:an important letter you received(重要信件)Ok, well I suppose one of the most important letters I’ve received was an offer letter from a university I applied to – Leeds University, to be precise – so that’s what I think I’ll talk about. And as for who the letter was from, well, I cant quite remember the name of the actual person who wrote it, I’m afraid, but if I’m not mistaken, it was sent by the university admissions office, who I guess are responsible for handling such matters.Anyway, regarding what the letter was about, well basically, it wasjust informing me that I had been accepted onto their Master’s program in Finance, so it was really great news for me, because this was the course that I most wanted to study, and out of all the various universities that I applied to, Leeds was definitely top of my list, as it was the one that most appealed to me, in terms of both the course content and social life. So, as you can imagine, I was over the moon after receiving the offer.I mean, it felt like all the years of hard work I’ve put into my studies seemed to have finally paid off, so it was like a dream come true for me, it really was.And finally then, with regard to why this letter was important, well, I think it goes without saying that it was extremely important, because essentially, it means that I’m gonna be able to study abroad, which I’m sure will have a huge impact on my future career, as it will hopefully enable me to apply for jobs which I wouldn’t have otherwise been considered for.And as well as this, I reckon that studying abroad will help me become more mature and independent, which I’ve noticed has happened with a few of my friends who have spent some time abroad, and I’m sure this’ll have a positive effect on my life in general. So it’s a big opportunity for me, and I’m really looking forward to it!雅思口语话题part2高分范文之:宠爱的广告(an advertisement that you saw)Describe an advertisement that you saw or heard or likedYou should say:Where you saw or heard itWhat kind of advertisement it wasWhat the content of the advertisement was (or, what product /service was advertised)and explain how you felt about this advertisement/ why you liked it.1-4月雅思口语新题part2范文之:宠爱的广告(advertisement)There are several types of advertisements that we see daily on TV, billboards, through the Internet, social networking sites, mobile applications, and mobile games. Many of them are very banal, full of marketing speech and kind of boring while others are average and their primary focus is to express the positive sides of a product to increase the sales. Finally, quite a few of them are creative, informative, humorous, fascinating and memorable.I usually do not like to watch advertisement between a movie/ TV programme and large commercial breaks are quite annoying to me. I personally think that the best way of advertising is using billboards, which can lead you to remember the brand name forever without actually annoying you.Well, the best advertisement I have ever seen that I still like for its uniqueness was on a highway in the United Arab Emirates and I really liked the idea of this advertisement. One day while passing the main road a big billboard caught my eyes. It was designed to look like the filtration zone of a cigarette which is commonly known as the cigarette butt. The large billboard was quite different in shape and it presented the message ‘Stop smoking even Marlboro’ quite visibly.I stole a glance at the billboard and thought about the message it conveyed. I actually did not think much and forgot about it. After an hour I found myself in front of a beach with a packet of Marlboro cigarette inmy pocket. While I was lighting a cigarette, I was wondering why I bought a packet of Marlboro? It is usually not my brand! To my surprise, I realised that the advertisement that I saw on the road had an immense effect on my psychology unconsciously. I was convinced that the billboard had forced me to buy that brand unconsciously. I think it was the first time I realised how advertisements can target peoples unconscious mind. Technically speaking this is the moment I realised that the best way to influence people’s buying behaviour is to use their unconscious mind instead of trying to deliver marketing speeches. When I thought more to analyse the billboard advertising and its effect on me, I realised that the advertiser tried to use reverse advertising techniques by delivering the message that Marlboro is less dangerous and smokers who wish to quit smoking should try this. Possibly all smokers- from light smokers to heavy ones, wish a day without smoking though many of them do not try hard. Then the billboard advertisement was pretending as if they were broadcasting an important public safety message. Moreover, they used a fascinating design on the billboard that would actually grab anyones attention. As you can see, they were quite successful as I still remember this advert very vividly and I like this advertisement due to the creative thinking of the maker.雅思口语话题part2高分范文之:宠爱的家人(sth you enjoy doing with an old person)Describe something you enjoy doing with an old person in your familyYou should say:What it isHow often you do itWho you do it withWhy you enjoy doing it with this personI enjoy spending time with my maternal grandmother. She is eighty and has an opinion on anything and everything. My grandma is an energetic person. She has some age-related problems but she gets about more than my mother or me. Actually, there are hardly any temples in South India that she hasn’t been to. She is fluent in most South Indian languages and also possesses a working knowledge of Sanskrit. I visit my grandmother at least once a month. When we were kids, we used to spend the weekends at her place and then she would tell us numerous stories from Hindu mythology and keep in entertained for hours on end. Actually, if I am deeply religious today, that is because of her. She also visits us very often, and whenever she does she makes it a point to bring us lots of gifts and other goodies. She is a generous woman who enjoys giving food and money to the needy. The reason that I enjoy spending time with her is that she has a positive attitude towards anything. Actually I have never seen her looking depressed or hopeless. She is great fun to be with.雅思口语话题part2高分范文之:学习技能( sth you learned in a place or from someone)Describe something you learned in a place or from someoneYou should say:What it wasWhere or who you got itWhat the situation wasHow you felt思路点拨:以下思路谨供参考,盼望大家依据自己的真实经受编写答案。

Because I did not do well in the college entrance exam, I could only apply for a university up north in China. And I could still remember what that day was like. It went like this.I arrived at my dormitory quite early in the morning with all my luggage. Surprisingly, all of my roommates have arrived before me and they were all busy making beds or cleaning the dorm, so we just briefly introduced each other. At noon, I suggested that we have lunch together and my suggestion was supported by them. Since we were just college boys, we did not have that much money to go to any fancy restaurant. Instead, we went to the dinning hall in our school where the food was awful and the decoration was rather thrifty, but I would say it was the most unforgettable meal I had during my college years.During the meal, we got to introduce each other in details. The six of us found that we came from 4 different provinces ranging from the northernmost to the southernmost where the cultures and lifestyles are strikingly different. The conversation just went on and on.Before we even noticed it, it was dinner time. So we ordered another round of food and continued. That night, lying on our bed, we envisaged our college years and our future. We all had our dreams and ambitions. Those were the days of ideals. But unfortunately, through the years, some of us failed to stick to their faith and went astray. To be 100% honest, I miss those days.雅思口语话题库part2话题范文之:Describe someone who isknowledgeable(博学的人)Describe someone who is knowledgeable(博学的人)You should say:Who the person isWhat field the person is expert atWhat interesting thing has happend to this person1.

My older brother shared everything with me and I was his passenger on the newly received bicycle from his birthday. He was a teen but rode on bicycles like an adult. After riding for a couple of days behind my brother, I wanted to learn to ride it myself. My brother, Jim, did not hesitate to teach me the riding. Initially, he explained how bicycle worked and took me to take the rider seat. I fell on the ground several times and Jim instructed me to keep the balance. In the first phase, Jim used to control the bicycle from behind so that I do not fall on the ground and graduallyI improved in riding the bicycle. Later, Jim allowed me to ride the bicycle alone. It was a nice experience to me. I know how to ride a bicycle and even I can drive a car now. Jim is my instructor in this case too.

Describe your favorite songYou should say:what the song ishow you feel when you listen to itwhat the song is aboutand explain why you particularly enjoy it.
音乐和艺术是人类社会思想生活的另一种非语言形式的表达(non-lingual expression of human thoughts, reflection of social life),是人类社会的灵魂(the soul of all human societies),常见的音乐种类有:pop, jazz, rock, country, classical, rap, heavy metal, instrumental and folk. Sample:My favorite song is Hero sung by Maria Carey, a brilliant American pop singer. When I first heard this song, I was deeply moved by the melody and the lyric. The lyrics are always lingering in my mind, “when you feel like hope is gone, look inside you and be strong, you will finally see the truth that hero lies in you.” Dreams are hard to come true, but people stick to pursuit them. The song isreally inspiring. I am sure every one of us will encounter many difficulties in our life. I heard it when I was in a bookstore. I bought the album. Now I remembered the song in my heart. When I meet difficulties, I will use the lyric of the song to encourage myself.IV. For instance, magazines are smaller in size than newspapers and usually more expensive. Newspapers contain fresher contents than magazines. In addition, magazines are like a book while a newspaper is much larger in size though there is lesser number of pages than in a magazine. So we could conclude that although these two forms of print media look like the same, there are many differences between them.Q. Whats the function of a report to the society?Answer: A report is any useful informational made with the specific intention of relaying information or recounting certain events in a widely presentable form. With regards to the function of a report, we could say in brief that it is multifunctional. Initially, it should provide information on what has to be done or needs to bedone. Moreover, reports are used for keeping track of information and this action results in making decisions. Hence, they are used in different fields such as the government, business, education, science, and so on and they can be divided into categories with annual, book, demographic, inspection, military and police reports being the most know types.Q. What kinds of books/newspapers/magazines do adolescents read in your country?Answer: Puberty is a transitional period of life so most of childrens hobbies and pastimes change during this time. As far as my country is concerned, I think that girls at adolescence read gossip and fashion magazines and novels with mainly romantic plot. Regarding boys, they read sports magazines most of the time, but there are some of them who read novels as well. When I was a teenager, my peers used to read Harry Potter books and as far as I can remember they were a mainstream.Tip: Adolescents in different countries read different kind of books, newspapers or magazines. Just talk about the most popular types in your country. For example you can say that boys read sports magazines, sci-fi, poetry, mystery and adventure books. With reference to girls, you can mention that they mostly read literature, romance, contemporary and beauty magazines, magazines and books about relationships.Q. With the popularity of Internet, do you think newspapers and magazines will disappear?Answer: Thats a controversial yet important issue to discuss about. Some people believe that magazines and newspapers will continue to be publicized irrespective of Internets rapid progress. The way we are accustomed to read a hard copy of a newspaper or a magazine will never get lost. The appeal of reading something printed is in our blood and it would not fade away very soon. However, it is undeniable that a large number of people would read it in a computer or a handheld device. There are many really large news and magazine companies that were established many years ago and they employed many workers. If printed newspapers and magazines disappear, all these corporations will automatically go bankrupt and thousands of people will be unemployed. My personal belief is that as the Internet is constantly advancing, the publication of the press will be restricted to some extent and all the major newspaper and magazine companies will have their online versions for readers. I can see for myself that I prefer reading thenews online rather than buying newspapers, but that does not mean that I never buy a magazine or a newspaper to read it.

I. TV Program
Describe a TV program/ performance (like/dislike), quiz show.
talk show, entertainment show, animal world之类的电视节目,另外有些同学不知道quiz show的意思,其实quiz show也是电视节目的一种,知识竞答类的节目,例如曾经比较火的一个节目《开心辞典》。
Describe a TV program/ performance (like/dislike)
You should say:
what was name of the program
when did you watch it
what did it talk about
and explain why you like/dislike this program.
I like watching TV. “Happy Dictionary”, a quiz show, is my favorite. For one thing, I a m impressed by its host “Wang Xiao Ya”. She is beautiful and incredible. In the program, the participants are introduced at first. Then they will be asked a question, the person who can answer correctly and quickly will have a chance to take the quiz. The host will ask the participant 12 questions. When you answered 3 questions and they’re all right. You have one prize. But if there is one wrong answer, the participant can’t have the prize. The prizes are decided by participants. For example, a fridge, computer, digital video camera, laptop, a free package holiday, and so on. The way the host asks the questions make them more difficult. The participants can get help from others for answering the questions but only three ways. If you have used one then you cannot use it again. The three ways are calling a friend by phone, asking the audience and letting the computer erase one of the wrong answers. I like this program
because it can enhance my general knowledge. I love “Happy Dictionary”.
II. Advertisement
Describe an advertisement
You should say:
what product or service is advertised
what the advertisement showed
why you remember this advertisement in particular
and explain whether you think the advertisement is effective
Well, today I'm going to talk about an advertisement of perfume. The perfume is the only one perfume which with time flying but also gives out new fascination.
I think everyone have heard about it. What is it? It’s CHANEL N°5. It mixed luxurious and elegance, with courageous and spirit of breaking tradition.
At the passageway of train, a young lady was immersed in thinking with the voice of train, and exhaling a sexy and attractive perfume. A young man passed by, then he couldn't stop himself loving her sweet smell. When the train arrived at the destination, she wanted to find him with deep and ungovernable longings. In the noisy city with different kinds of smell, they missed each other. Finally, he found her when he just wants to give up. At the end of this advertisement, a shining double "C" appeared.
Just as Marilyn Monroe once said, "I go to sleep with nothing, but a few drops of CHANEL N°5." Even though fate is like a game, the fascination of N°5 is always making no stand.
