Justin was really good at basketball and he thought it was the only way out of his school. He could run with the fast and beat any of the older boys at the court and the younger boys didn’t have a chance.A.toyB.ballC.keyD.flag解析本题虽考查名词词义,但实际是一道词汇复现题,根据第一句中“Justin擅长打篮球”,可以判断下文提到的是“他可以带球跑得很快”,故ball复现了basketball。
At last, to my total shame, another student took my place. I that my father rewrote my first article himself, instead of simply trying to help me to improve it. But in my heart I knew it was my fault because I allowed him to do it.A.agreedB.realizedC.rememberedplained解析最后一句的含义是“但是在我心里我知道是我的错,因为我允许了他这么做”。

You can also discover how the Romans buried their dead and see tombstones (墓碑) which survive to this day. There is a “hands-on” area allowing visitors to dig on a certain site and study their findings with the help of museum staff. You can piece together pottery (陶器), or try writing just as the Romans would have done.

[典例] 1The instructors called for an ambulance. __55__, after a brief stay in hospital, Ben was wellenough to be allowed to __56__ and later the family met up for dinner.55.A.Fortunately B.FranklyC.Sadly D.Suddenly56.A.return B.relaxC.speak D.leave[分析]55.
根据下文的“after a brief stay in hospital”,“well enough”和“later the family met up for dinner”这些暗示中我们可知Ben“很幸运”,“被允许出院”。
