Of course! Here's an English essay of around 2,000 words, written from a child's perspective, covering both the long essay and short essay sections of the Liaoning Gaokao English exam:The Best Day Ever!Hi there! My name is Lily, and I'm 8 years old. Today was the best day ever, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!It started off like any other Saturday morning. I woke up early, feeling super excited because my best friend Emily was coming over to play. We had been looking forward to this playdate for weeks! After gobbling down my favorite breakfast of pancakes and strawberries, I rushed to get dressed and tidy up my room.Just as I was putting away the last of my toys, the doorbell rang. I raced downstairs, and there was Emily, grinning from ear to ear. "Hi Lily!" she exclaimed as I opened the door. "I brought my new board game to play. It's called Chutes and Ladders!""Awesome!" I replied, giving her a big hug. We hurried up to my room and set up the game. For the next hour or so, we were completely absorbed in playing round after round, giggling and cheering each other on.Eventually, we got a little bored of the game and decided to go outside and play in the backyard. The sun was shining brightly, and a gentle breeze was blowing. Perfect weather for adventures!The Short Essay (around 250 words)My backyard is like a magical wonderland to me. There's an old oak tree that's perfect for climbing, and underneath it is a little hideout made of branches and leaves that Emily and I built last summer. We spend hours in there, telling stories and using our imaginations to go on exciting make-believe quests.Today, we decided to play pirates! We found some old pieces of fabric and made makeshift eye patches and bandanas. Then, using sticks as swords, we set off to find buried treasure around the yard. We dug holes here and there, letting out delighted squeals whenever we uncovered an interesting rock or twig that could be part of our "loot."After a while, we got thirsty from all our adventuring, so we went inside for a snack. My mom had made us some fruit smoothies, which we slurped down happily. As we sat at the kitchen table, slightly out of breath from running around, Emily turned to me with a mischievous grin."You know what we should do next?" she asked...The Long Essay (around 1,500 words)..."We should put on a play!"My eyes went wide with excitement. "A play? Like a real play with costumes and everything?"Emily nodded vigorously. "Yeah! We can make our own tickets and sell them to our families. Then we can use the money to buy ice cream later!"I loved this idea. Every few months, Emily and I would come up with some sort of performance or show to put on for our parents. We had done magic acts, talent shows, you name it. But we had never done a full-blown play before. This was going to be our biggest production yet!We got to work right away, heading up to my room to start planning. The first order of business was deciding on a story."What about a fairy tale?" I suggested. "Like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty?"Emily thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Nah, those are too overdone. Let's make up our own story...Something with daring heroes and evil villains and maybe...monsters?""Ooh yes!" I agreed eagerly. "A fantasy adventure Play sounds perfect."And so our imaginations ran wild as we began constructing an epic tale. After much discussing and giggling, we had a basic plot outlined:Once upon a time, there were two brave friends named Lily and Emily who lived in a magical forest world. One day, they discovered that an evil sorcerer had put a dreadful curse on their land, causing terrifying beasts to appear and wreak havoc! The friends would have to go on a perilous quest, facing obstacle after obstacle, to find the one weapon that could defeat the sorcerer and his monsters: the Shining Sword of Light.We could hardly contain our excitement as we fleshed out the characters and different scenes that would make up our play.I would be the hero Lily, a skilled archer and fighter. Emily decided her character would be my sidekick, a friendly forest pixie who could work magic and help guide us on our journey.Once we had the basic story mapped out, it was time to get creative with costumes and props. We rummaged through ourclosets and playrooms, pulling out anything we could use. For my heroine outfit, I grabbed a long skirt that could pass as a medieval-style dress. I also found an old plastic bow and arrow set that would be perfect for my archer skills.Emily's pixie costume was even more fun to put together. We made her a little tutu out of green tulle and used pipe cleaners to fashion tall, pointy shoes for her pixie feet. We even made her a wand using a stick, some tinfoil, and craft gems!With our costumes ready, we moved on to preparing the rest of our set and props. We set up my bedroom to be the "stage" area, using a large cardboard box that we painted to look like a castle in the background. We also created masks and costumes out of paper and fabric to depict the evil sorcerer and his beasts.For the all-important Shining Sword of Light, we took a small toy sword I had and wrapped it in shiny aluminum foil. Perfect!As opening night approached, we could hardly sit still with anticipation. We made tickets using construction paper and crayons and handed them out to our parents and siblings. My little brother Zachary was going to be in charge of lights and music for the show.Finally, it was showtime! Our families gathered in my room, clutching their tickets and whispering excitedly. The house lights dimmed, and Zachary played some suspenseful music from my mom's phone to set the mood. Emily and I took our places backstage behind our cardboard castle, our hearts pounding with nervous energy.And then...the curtain opened (which was really just us pulling aside the castle backdrop). Emily's pixie character began narrating the story in a tiny, squeaky voice as I stood ready in my heroine pose with bow in hand."Once upon a time, in a faraway enchanted forest, there lived two brave friends..." Emily said dramatically. "The heroic Lady Lily, peerless archer and warrior...and her loyal companion, the magic pixie Glimmersweet!"The play had begun! I can't even describe to you how incredible it felt to be up on that "stage," acting out the story we had imagined together. Emily and I improvised most of the dialogue, which often set us into spontaneous fits of giggles that we just incorporated into the show.We faced our foes valiantly—the Ogre of the Dark Woods (a scary monster mask I had made), the Snake Queen (a stuffed animal snake), and finally the climactic battle with Cedric the EvilSorcerer himself, played by my teddy bear wearing a robe and cape made of towels.When I finally claimed the Shining Sword of Light and vanquished Cedric, the audience (our families) erupted into wild applause and cheers. Emily and I grinned and bowed, completely out of breath but on a blissful high from the joy of performing.Once the show was over, our families showered us with praise and hugs. We passed around a little basket to collect our "ticket money," which amounted to a whole 5! Emily's mom took us out for celebratory ice cream cones, which we happily licked as we walked home later that afternoon.As I snuggled into bed that night, I replayed the wonderful events of the day over and over in my head. Between the fun of playing make-believe, putting on a show for our loved ones, and the delicious ice cream at the end, it really had been the best day ever. I couldn't wait to make more amazing memories with my best friend.Well, that's all for my extra-long story time! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my incredible day of adventures, games, and theatrical performances. A kid could not ask for a better Saturday. Until next time!Love, Lily。

AA new study shows students who write notes by hand during lectures perform better on exams than those who use laptops(笔记本电脑).Students are increasingly using laptops for note-taking because of speed and legibility(清楚度). But the research has found laptop users are less able to remember and apply the concepts they have been taught.Researchers performed experiments that aimed to find out whether using a laptop increased the tendency to make notes “mindlessly” by taking down word for word what the professors said.In the first experiment, students were given either a laptop or pen and paper. They listened to the same lectures and were told to use their usual note-taking skills. Thirty minutes after the talk, they were examined on their ability to remember facts and on how well they understood concepts.The researchers found that laptop users took twice as many notes as those who wrote by hand. However, the typists performed worse at remembering and applyingthe concepts. Both groups scored similarly when it came to memorizing facts.The researchers’ report said, “Wh ile more notes arc beneficial, if the notes are taken mindlessly, as is more likely the case on a laptop, the benefit disappears.”In another experiment aimed at testing long-term memory, students took notes as before but were tested a week after the lecture. This time, the students who wrote notes by hand performed significantly better on the exam.These two experiments suggest that handwritten notes arc not only better for immediate learning and understanding, but that they also lead to superior revision in the future.21. The World's Best Arts TeacherDAn Australian professor is developing a robot to monitor the health of grazing cattle,a development that could bring big changes to a profession that's relied largely on a low-tech approach for decades but isfacing a labor shortage.Salah Sukkarieh,a professor at the University of Sydney,sees robots as necessary given how cattlemen are aging.He is building a four-wheeled robot that will run on solar and electric power.It will use cameras and sensors to monitor the animals.A computer system will analyze the video to determine whether a cow is sick.Radio tags(标签)on the animals will measure temperature changes.The quality of grassland will be tracked by monitoring the shape,color and texture (质地)of grass.That way,cattlemen will know whether they need to move their cattle to another field for nutrition purposes.Machines have largely taken over planting,watering and harvesting crops such as corn and wheat,but the monitoring of cattle has gone through fewer changes.For Texas cattleman Pete Bonds,it's increasingly difficult to find workers interested in watching cattle.But Bonds doesn't believe a robot is right for the job.Years of experience in the industry - and failed attempts to use technology - have convinced him that the best way to check cattle is with a man on a horse.Bonds,who bought his first cattle almost 50 years ago,still has each of his cowboys inspect 300 or 400 cattle daily and look for signs that an animal is getting sick.Other cattlemen see more promise in robots.Michael Kelsey Paris,vice president of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association,said a robot could be extremely useful given rising concerns about cattle theft.Cattle tend to be kept in remote places and their value has risen,making them appealing targets.12. The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th of the eighth month of our Chinese lunar calendar. As one of the traditional Chinese festivals, it has been enjoying great popularity in our country. Usually, no matter how far away or how busy we are, we will try to come home for the celebration. The moon that night looks the brightest in the whole lunar month. What we love most is the time we enjoy the full moon together. With the beautiful moon up in the sky, we sit together and eat moon cakes and fruit, sharing our stories. In addition to these traditional activities, we have a wider range of choices such as travelling and visiting our relatives or friends。

1.词数100左右;

其实外研社英语教材提供了非常多的素材,如必修5第三单元Adventure in Literature and the Cinema中关于哈克贝里芬历险记的The Steamboat;
选修6第二单元的Fantasy Literature中的The Cat That Vanished和The Lord of the Rings以及第四单元Music中关于Porgy and Bess的课文,选修7中关于《雾都孤儿》的节选Ask for

1.农场情况;
2.采摘过程;

1.词数100左右;
2.可以适当增加细节,以使行文连贯;
