Passage 1
The challenge of the new class studying
In order to have more progress in the new semester, I decisively chose a new English lesson. However, when the first class, facing the spoken English is very fluent classmate, abnormal feel self-abased. As a weak subject, English always make me very upset, looking forward to make a change, but has refused to action. In this new mode, however, I feel very different learning atmosphere. For synchronous learning with other students, I to copy shop to buy the new teaching material, also successfully in the paper format this unit to learn many interesting knowledge.
In class, the teacher introduced the basic format and content of English literature. As a science student, I think this lesson learned knowledge for my great help. After class I search the related literature, articles on the site and has carried on the simple comparison, getting a better understanding of the article introduces the key points.
Passage 2
Relax Yourself
What does it mean to relax? Despite hearing this term thousands of times during the course of our lives, very few people have deeply considered what it's really about. As a student who is really nervous about the studying, I am tired of learning, but can't find a solution. Why so many of us operate as if life were one great big emergency?
As the pace of modern life continues to quicken, many people are in the habit of rushing through life. A certain degree of stress is beneficial to us, but too much stress is certainly harmful, so it is necessary to know how to reduce stress. There are many ways that can help us solve this problem, but the following may be the most effective. First, learn to Collie to terms with yourselves. Don't set a goal that is too high because there are many things in this world that are beyond your reach. Learn to be content to go as far as you can. Second, learn to Collie to terms with the world around you. Don't try to change other people or other things. There are people and things in this world that you can do nothing about. So learn to accept them. Third, don't be too interested in material things and don't try to "keep up with the Joneses." Don't harbor any jealousy, vanity or resentment to others. Be satisfied with what you have. Finally, keep in touch with your friends. Talk with them, share with them your happiness and misery. This will help to make you feel better.
Passage 3
Success Is a Choice
All of us ought to be able to brace ourselves for the predictable challenges and setbacks that cro p up everyday. If we expect that life won’t be perfect, we’ll be able to avoid that impulse to quit.
Whether it’s a financial loss, the loss of respect of your peers or loved ones, or some other traumatic events in your life, these major setbacks leave you doubting yourself and wondering if things can ever change for the better again.
Adversity happens to all of us, and it happens all the time. Some form of major adversity is either going to be there or it’s lying in wait just around the corner. To ignore adversity is to succumb to the ultimate self delusion. But you must recognize that history is full of examples of men and women who achieved greatness despite facing hurdles so steep that easily could have crashed their spirit and left them lying in the dust. Abraham Lincoln overcame all difficulties during the Civil War to become our arguable greatest president ever. Helen Keller made an impact on the world despite being deaf, dumb, and blind from an early age. There are endless examples. These were people who not only looked adversity in the face but learned valuable lessons about overcoming difficult circumstances and were able to move ahead.
Passage 4
The Wholeness of Life
There is a wholeness about the person who has come to terms with his limitations, who has been brave enough to let go of his unrealistic dreams and not feel like a failure for doing so. There is a wholeness about the man or woman who has learned that he or she is strong enough to go through a tragedy and survive, she can lose someone and still feel like a complete person.
Life is not a trap set for us by God so that he can condemn us for failing. Life is not a spelling bee, where no matter how many words you have gotten, you are disqualified if you make one mistake. Life is more like a baseball season, where even the best team loses one third of its games and even the worst team has its days of brilliance. Our goal is to win more games than we lose. When we accept that imperfection is part of being human, and when we can continue rolling through life and appreciate it, we will have achieved a wholeness that others can only aspire to. That, I believe, is what God asks of us —not “Be perfect”, but “Be whole”.
If we are brave enough to love, strong enough to forgive, generous enough to rejo ice in another’s happiness, and wise enough to know there is enough love to go around for us all, then we can achieve a fulfillment that no other living creature will ever know.
Passage 5
