Part 2 Topic

1, A teacher

Describe a teacher who taught you before. You should say: who he or she is/ what the teacher taught you/ where the teacher is now and explain why you chose this teacher to talk about.

My favorite teacher is Mr. Bennet from England. He was my foreign English teacher when I was in the senior high school. He came to our school as a volunteer teacher. He’s a typical Englishman in appearance. He has deep b lue eyes, a pointed noise, and light-colored, blond hair. His hair is rather thin, actually bald on top. In his class, I felt very relaxed because he was always quick to make a joke. If you were late for class you would probably be asked by him to either sing a song or dance in front of the entire class. And you know, that’s really ver y embarrassing. In his class, every student was encouraged to speak loudly whether they made mistakes or not. The contents he taught in class were made vivid so as to be easily accepted by us. I actually owned him a lot of gratitude for his feedback and encouragement that gave me the impetus to carry on pursing more in the vast English world. Now he has been back to England. I wish him a happy life there.

2, A person in history

Describe a person in history in your country. You should say: who the person is/ when you got to know this person/ what he or she did and explain why he or she influenced Chinese history.

3, A river/lake/sea

Describe a river/lake/sea which you like. You should say: what the river is called/ where it is/ what the land near it is like and explain why you like this river.

4, A foreign country

Describe a foreign country that you want to go to. You should say: where it is/ when you plan to go there/ what you want to see there and explain why you want to go there.

5, A school

Describe a school you attended at any time of your life. You should say: what it is/ what the school campus like/ what you learnt in the school and explain why your memory of learning there.

6, A library

Describe a library you’ve even been to before. You should say: wher e the library is/ when you first got to know it/ what you think about the library and explain whether you like it or not.

7, A favorite meal A birthday party

OK, talking about the favorite meal, I must show myself off here. Last year, it was on my Mother’s Birthday that I decided to cook the dinner for my family. So I announced that I would be the cook arranging the whole meal that day and anyone who liked to assist me was welcomed. I knew that crisp fried prawn was my mother’s favorite dish. All ingredients, including prawns, salt, pepper, ginger, sesame oil were ready. I began to follow the instruction of the cooking book step by step, to wash and clean the prawns, to make crisp cross-cuts on each prawn’s belly part, to mix them with salt, oil, pepper for 10 minutes, and then to deep fry them in boiling oil. When all dishes were ready, we enjoyed a delicious meal. My mother was smiling with joy, because that’s what I cooked for her the first time. It was just a simple meal. Actually I think I should give my gratitude to my mother for everything she has done for me.
