On November 11th，the single students in Yangzhou University of JiangSu province was celebrating Singles’ Day by delivering cards each other and eating Youtiao.
传说公元3世纪时，古罗马有一位暴君叫克劳多 斯。离暴君的宫殿不远，有一座非常漂亮的破庙，修 士瓦伦丁就住在这里。罗马人非常崇敬他，不论男女 老幼，贫富贵贱，人们总会群集在他的周围，聆听瓦 伦丁的祈祷。由于古罗马战争频繁，暴君频频征召男 子入伍，为了确保他们的忠诚度下令：禁止情侣们结 婚。瓦伦丁对此颇有微词，在一堆小夫妻的请求下， 他悄悄为他们主持了婚礼，后来大家都悄悄找他结为 夫妇。好景不长，这个情况很快被暴君知道了，他把 瓦伦丁抓入地牢，折磨虐待，终于在11月11日这天将 瓦伦丁凌虐到死。人们为了纪念瓦伦丁就把11月11日 作为“光棍节”

An old story goes that once there were four single men, leading very boring lives. None of them were married, or had lovers, or did anything exciting. They just sat around all day and played Majiang.
One day they played Majiang from 11 in the morning until 11 at night. During the game, no matter who won, the winning card was always the‘sitiao' .Even more of a coincidence, it was 11/11. In order to commemorate the day, they nicknamed it Singles Day. Singles Day is now a special day for all fashionable youths.

These college students have since graduated, and carried their university tradition into society. Singles Day is now a special day for all fashionable youths.
