before的特殊用法

before在高考的单项选择、完形填空以及短文改错中考的较多，尤其它的特殊用法。它的特殊用法主要有以下几种：

1.用于“It will /won’t be+时间段+before…”句型，表示“….之后才…. ；用不了多久就…；”另外还表示“不到…就…；刚…就…；到…之前”。

It will be two weeks before everything returns to normal . 两周之后一切才恢复正常。

It won’t be long before we meet again .用不了多久我们就会再见面的。

It may be many years before the situation improves .这次状况或许要过很多年才能得到发展。It was some time before I realized the truth . 过了很长一段时间我才了解到真相。

I will ask you some questions before I give my answer .在我没有作答前，我要先问你几个问题。We waited a long time before the train arrived .我们等了很久火车才到。

We hadn’t run a mile before he felt tired .我们跑了还不到一英里他就累了。

2.以免，不然, 趁着

Lock your bike before it gets stolen .锁好你的车子，以免被偷。

Put that away before it gets broken .把它收拾好，免得砸碎了。
