2012年英语考研作文Living a Low-Carbon Life。

The issue of climate change has become a major concern for the world in recent years. The increase in carbon emissions caused by human activities has led to global warming, which poses a serious threat to the environment and human health. In order to reduce the impact of climate change, it is necessary for us to adopt a low-carbon lifestyle.Firstly, we can reduce our carbon footprint by using public transportation instead of driving. Cars emit a large amount of carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming. By taking the bus or subway, we can significantly reduce our carbon emissions. Secondly, we can save energy by turning off lights and unplugging appliances when they are not in use. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also helps us save money on electricity bills. Thirdly, we can reduce waste by recycling and reusing items. Thisnot only reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfills but also conserves natural resources. In addition, we can also make changes to our diet to reduce our carbon footprint. Eating less meat and dairy products can significantly reduce our carbon emissions. This is because the production of meat and dairy products requires a large amount of energy and resources. By eating more plant-based foods, we can reduce our carbon footprint and improve our health.Living a low-carbon life is not only good for the environment but also good for our health and well-being. By adopting a low-carbon lifestyle, we can reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future. Let usall do our part to protect the environment and create a better world for future generations.。

Every generation faces its own unique set of challenges and opportunities. As we navigate the complexities of the modern world, it is more important than ever to be equipped with critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is the ability to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and make informed decisions. It is a skill that is essential for success in both our personal and professional lives. One of the most important aspects of critical thinking is the ability to identify and challenge assumptions. Assumptions are beliefs that we hold to be true without having sufficient evidence to support them. They can be dangerous because they can lead us to make decisions that are not based on facts. By challenging assumptions, we can open ourselves up to new possibilities and consider different perspectives.Another key aspect of critical thinking is the ability to evaluate evidence. When we are presented with information, it is important to be able to assess its credibility and relevance. We need to be able to determine whether the information is accurate, reliable, and unbiased. By evaluating evidence carefully, we can make more informed decisions and avoid being misled by false or misleading information.Critical thinking is a skill that can be developed and improved through practice. There are a number of things we can do to become more critical thinkers, such as reading widely, questioning our own beliefs, and engaging in thoughtful discussions with others. By developing our critical thinking skills, we can become more informed, more effective decision-makers, and more active participants in our communities.

It's been a long time since I last wrote an English essay. I remember struggling with it in high school, but now I'm trying to get back into the groove. It's not easy, but I'm determined to improve my writing skills. One thing that I've realized is that writing in English is quite different from speaking it. When I talk, I can use slang and colloquial expressions without worrying too much about grammar. But when it comes to writing, I have to be more careful with my language.Another challenge for me is organizing my thoughts. I tend to jump from one idea to another, which can make my writing confusing. I need to work on structuring my essays in a more coherent way.I've also noticed that my vocabulary is quite limited.I often find myself using the same words over and over again. I need to expand my vocabulary and learn how to usemore sophisticated language.Overall, I know that improving my English writingskills will take time and effort. But I'm willing to put in the work because I believe it will benefit me in the long run. I just need to stay focused and keep practicing.。

The exam itself was tough, but Ifelt a sense of accomplishment when it was over. The English exam consisted of multiple choice questions, writing tasks, and listening comprehension. I found the multiple choice questions to be the most difficult, as they required a deep understanding of the language. The writing tasks were also challenging, but I enjoyed expressing my thoughts and ideas in English. As for the listening comprehension, it was a test of both my language skills and my concentration.During the preparation period, I spent a lot of time in the library, poring over English textbooks and reference materials. It was a daunting task, but I knew I had to prepare myself well in order to succeed.I spent countless hours studying vocabulary, practicing writing, and honing my listening and speaking skills. One of the most effective methods I used to improve my English was to watch English movies and TV shows. By immersing myself in the language, I was able to pick up on colloquial expressions and idioms that are not typically taught in textbooks. For example, I remember watching theTV series "Friends" and learning phrases like "How youdoin'?" and "I'm all ears." These expressions not only helped me better understand the language, but also made my speech more natural and fluent. In addition to watching TV shows, I also sought outopportunities to converse with native English speakers. I joined language exchange groups and participated in online forums where I could practice my English in a real-world setting. In your essay, you should1)describe the drawing briefly.2)explain its intended meaning,and3)five you comments,You should write neatly on ANSWER SHEET2.(20 points)高分范文,商志制造How instructive and impressive the above image is! Indeed, few things could be so symbolic and philosophic as this picture. Portrayed in it are two men, who respond to the same scene in entirely different ways: When their bottle is overturned, one expresses his disappointment and discouragement, while the other is hurry to raise the bottle up, with a smile on his face and optimism in his mind. What on earth does the illustration virtually intend to mirror? That this picture does carry rather important intended meanings goes far beyond any reasonable dispute. Studying it further, we may learn that simple as it may seem at first glance, what the illustrator really aims to convey is apparently far-reaching ——different people may come up with different outlooks on life. When facing with stresses, setbacks or feelings of inadequacy, some tend to be optimistic, but others might be pessimistic. Looking around, we may find that similar happenings are too numerous to list. A convincing illustration occurring to me goes to an acquaintance of mine, who is always confident and optimistic in school and in life, even when there is little hope. When he failed in the Students’ Union election last semester, he, instead of being upset, viewed it as an opportunity to exercise his ability and felt no sorry about it at all.“ However much importance we attach to people’s lack of optimism , it is far from enough, ” notes Dr. Gao Lei, a pioneer of behavioral studies of Tsinghua University. It is the responsibility of the government, mass media and schools of alllevels to take the lead to promote optimism, awakening people to the significance of optimism. Moreover, we should strive to help people develop a positive outlook on life and the world. I am strongly convinced that only when we are equipped with optimism and confidence can we achieve more rapid progress and even greater success in problem-solving and life success.。

The cartoon depicts a scene where a man is sitting infront of a computer, with piles of books on his desk, and a bookshelf behind him. He seems to be struggling to find the information he needs online, while the books on his desk remain untouched. The caption reads, “Has technology made us lazy?”。

The intended meaning of the cartoon is that technology, particularly the internet, has made us too reliant on itfor information and has made us lazy in terms of seeking knowledge from other sources. The man in the cartoon represents many of us who have become too dependent on technology and have forgotten the value of traditional methods of learning, such as reading books. In my opinion, technology has undoubtedly made ourlives easier and more convenient.

In your essay, you should1. describe the drawing briefly,2. explain its intended meaning, and then3. support your view with an example/examples.You should write neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. There is an old saying about optimism that goes something like a pessimist sees a dark tunnel,an optimist sees a light at the end of tunnel, and a realist sees a train coming down the track. This is what the cartoon describes. In the picture, the person is telling his subordinate that the present failure is only temporary postponement of the success. However,if he does not work hard enough and be realistic,he will not succeed. Simple as the picture is,the symbolic meaning it conveys is deep and profound. Optimism can help you to be happier, healthier and more successful. Pessimism leads,by contrast,to hopelessness, sickness and failure, and is linked to depression, loneliness and painful shyness. In other words, optimism is the necessary fuel to keep the train moving forward and realistic information is the key to keeping us on track. Therefore, when we are facing problems we should not only be optimistic but also be realistic and find possible solutions.Take sales representatives at a Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as an example.According to the recent survey, the positive thinkers among representatives sold 37 percent more insurance than did the negative thinkers. Of newly hired representatives, optimists sold 20 percent more.A further study indicates that when things go wrong the pessimistic representative tends to blame himself,“I’m no go od at this,” or “I always fail.” On the other hand, the optimist representative looks for loopholes. He blames the weather, the phone connection, even the other person.

高分佳句:①There is an old saying about optimism that goes something like a pessimist sees a dark tunnel,an optimist sees a light at the end of tunnel, and a realist sees a train coming down the track.

②Simple as the picture is,the symbolic meaning it conveys is deep and profound.

③Optimism can help you to be happier, healthier and more successful.
