(1)dare可作情态动词。一般用于否定句、疑问句和条件状语从句中，后接动词原形。作为情态动词，没有人称和数的变化，其时态只有一般现在时和一般过去式(dared)；否定形式为daren't。(2)当dare作实义动词且用在否定句和疑问句中时，其后接不定式，不定式符号to常可省略。

(3)I dare say是固定短语，意为“我敢说，恐怕也许是”，常作插入语。
