构，误以为高级词汇和复杂结构越多，作文就会显得越有档次。

于是在写作文时，就一门心思地堆砌辞藻，刻意制造复杂句，把简单的问题复杂化，结果弄巧成拙，不是造成行文晦涩难懂，就是有故意炫耀之嫌，给阅卷老师留下班门弄斧的坏印象。

在追求高级词汇和复杂结构的过程中，存在的主要问题有：
1．吃不透高级词汇的用法。

Advocate是高级词汇，但是它后接名词、动名词或从句，很少后接动词不定式的复合结构。

当表
示提倡某人做某事时，我们可以使用以下结构：call on someone to do…或appeal to someone to do…，在考试中，我们宁缺毋滥，宁愿舍弃高级表达，也要确保正确，减少犯错误的几率
2．表达高级，但词不达意。

写作的主要目的是为了表达意思，在于沟通，而不是唬人，没有必要“为了复杂而复杂”，我们要根据表达内容和实际行文的需要，恰当使用英语词

汇和结构，准确无误地表达出我们的所思所想。

在上面表格中的三种表达中，“不当表达”不知所云，已经背离了中文意思，变成了：有回报的事情是垃圾废物被大大减少。

3．句子越长，越容易失控。

长句有风险，使用需谨慎。

句子越长，结构越复杂，表达就越容易失控。

中学生驾驭长句的能力有限，如果达不到一定的火候，就容易犯错误。

在上面的“不当表达”中，faced with与句子的主语没有
逻辑主谓关系。

我的个人建议是，没有金刚钻别揽瓷器活，如果没有十足驾驭长句的把握，倒不如把长句拆分几个短句，也可以去收到异曲同工之妙。

英语作文为什么要练字？每一届高三学生都要问我同样的问题，而我也总是用下面三个同样的原因来说服他们：
首先，高考阅卷时，作文要被扫描成电子文本，阅卷老师长时间看着电脑屏幕，容易视觉疲劳。

在

这种情况下，不整洁的卷面很容易引起阅卷老师的反感。

其次，在看电影时，我们常常以貌取人，有的角色一看外表，就知道是坏人。

同样，一篇文章要想获得阅卷老师的青睐，在外貌上必须具有“高分作文的气质”，看上去就像出自一个好学生之手。

字迹潦草、乱涂乱画、错用标点等细节问题似乎在暗示：这是一篇没品位的作文。

再者，练好英语字非常简单，每一个人都可以做到，不像练习中文书法那么复杂。

为了赢得阅卷老师的眼球，我们要给自己的书面表达适当的“化一点淡妆”。

为了赢得阅读老师的芳心，漂亮公正的书写就要从今天做起！
英文书写应符合书写规范，字母要写清楚、整齐、美观，字母的大小和字母之间的距离要匀称。

英语书写有圆体、意大利、手写印刷体等字体。

一手漂亮的英文字令人赏心悦目，肯定为作文加分，但是在考试那么紧张的情况下，去花大量的时间去写意大利体，似乎有点不切实际。

因此，我建议学生还是模仿经济实惠的印刷手写体，每个字母向右倾斜5度，且倾斜度都要大致保持一致，如下图：
写英文字母要掌握正确笔顺。

如字母i，应该先写下面的部分，然后再打点。

有的学生却按写汉字的习惯从上到下写，写快了，就会把点和下面的十笔连在量起，显得十分别扭。

字形t应为两笔。

不少人却将两笔合成一笔，看上去不像t，倒像l或是e，难以辨认。

另外，把r写成v，把q写成把g，把k 写成h等等，都是中学生书写中常见的毛病。

不少人在四线三格的练习纸上书写尚有规矩，能按字母的占格、高低和大小要求书写，但在白纸或横线纸上书写，却显得十分幼稚拙劣。

字母或跳上跳下，或一律写成同一高度，占上中两格的字母与占中下两格的字母完全没有高低之别。

这些现象都要防止。

另外，书写时还要注意词与词之间要保持一定的距离，不能紧靠在一起。

字母之间的连写也应该按照习惯，不能随意乱来。

除了上面的七种方法之外，我们还可以在英语作文中灵活使用以下的一些方法：
1．助动词do (does/did)+动词原形
[中文] 你到那儿后务必给我来信。

2．very，only，single，such等形容词
[中文] 你怎么敢买这么贵的宝石呢？
[原话] How can you buy the expensive jewels.

3．用ever, never, very, just, really等副词
[中文] 我的确不知道下一步该怎么做。

[原话] I really don’t know what to do next.

4．疑问句中用in the world, on earth, at all等介词短语

5．感叹句

6．用倒装句
