I’m glad to hear that you want to travel to China. I strongly recommend(推荐) you travel in my hometown- Xi’an.
Xi’an is the capital（首都，省会） of Shanxi Province. It’s also one of the most important cities in northwest China. In history, Xi’an was the capital of 12 dynasties. It was the starting point of the “ Silk Road”, which played an important part（对...起重要作用） in international relations a thoustand years ago.

Xi’an is also a modern city. There are a good many colleges and universities, factories and institutes(协会，学院) in Xi’an. Some satellites（卫星） and new types of plane are made here.

There are a lot of places of interest （名胜古迹） in Xi’an. You will see many ancient tombs and several large museums around the city. After you visit them, you will know more about the history of my country.
