Our village carpenter (木匠) , John Hill, came one day and made a dining table for my wife. He made it just the right size to be put into the place between the two windows. When I got home that evening, John was drinking a cup of tea and writing out his bill (账单) for his job.

I gave his bill back to him.

Interesting things happen to time when you travel because the earth is parted into 24 zones (时区) , one hour apart (一个时区相差一小时). You can have days with more or fewer than 24 hours, and weeks with more or fewer than 7 days.

If you make 5 days’ trip across(横跨) the Atlantic Ocean (大西洋), your ship goes in to a different time zone every day. And when you go in to each zone, the time changes one hour.
