strong power in Chris has been influencing me all the time.Characters and the climate There are mainly three characters : Chris Gardner、Christopher、Linda ,and the leading character is Chris Gardner ,the father.The whole atmosphere is positive ,though there is a large part describing the bitter struggles of Chris ,hisspirit is inspiring , and there is no disappear but hope and stable belief in happiness.Development of eventsThe story of Chris Gardner is divided into six part ,I will introduce them one by one.Part one : Riding the bus It was in San Francisco 1981, Chris spent all his money on buying medical equipments , but later he found that they were unpopular among doctors ,because they were expensive and almost useless.everyday he did his best to promote the equipment to doctors ,but he can‟t earn enough for the rent and kindergarten , his life was difficult.Part two: Being stupid In this part ,Chris had to apply for a work as a stock woker ,so he left the medical equipment with a girl ,but the girl took it away!what a accident!Part three : Running He ran after the girl who had stolen the equipment ,finally ,he took it back ,another situation is that he had no money for the taxi ,so he escaped;eventually,he was sent to the prison for owing the taxes ,and the next morning ,he ran to the stock company for a interview with paint stains on his body.Part four : Internship Chris got the job as a internship for six months without salary ，it was really a hard time for him ,he had to sell the equipment while working as a internship.Afterall , he earned some money from the medical equipmentsPart five : Paying taxes In this part ,there was a big hit to him ,the government took $600 from his account and he only had $21.33 left ,he was broke again.this part was the most impressive but inspiring one.During that time ,he and his son spent a night in the WC ,and lived in the church hospice for many days ,although there were many barriers ,he carried on seeking for the happiness.Part six : Happiness It was an exciting part ,Chris was succeed ,and he did it finally ,he became a successful stock worker!My views on the storyAfter the move ,I thought of many things :we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equally , that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights ,that among these are life ,liberty and the pursuit of stopped loving,protecting and cheering up his son.During that hard time,Chris met a man smiling out of a super car and people around him was as happy as him.He asked the man what he does and the man told him he was a stockbroker.Since then he determined to be a stockbroker and pursuit his happiness.He try to seek the opportunity to meet the leaders of the stockbroker company and show his talent and determination to him.Finally he got the opportunity to be one of 20 interships of that company for a 6-month training without salary.Life becames harder for him as not only did he have to contact with hundreds of clients everyday, study for his test,but also he had to pick up his son from nursery, hurry to the line in front of the church for a bed,take a good care of him,and run to sell the scanner for their living.Although had experienced failure and insult so many times,Chris never gave up.In the end,he beated the other 19 men and got the job as a stockbroker,and so the happiness came to him as he had expected.It is a story with a satisfatory ending but a long and hard development.Life is hard,and happiness will not come to you in vain.Just like the sentence that the movie cites from The Declaration of Independence says,’everyone has the right to life,liberty and the pursuit of happiness.Why Thomas Jefferson put a’pursuit’part in there?The hero thought maybe happiness is the thing that we can pursuit but will never get.The truth is,from the whole movie we can learn,that happiness is the thing someone can get only by pursuit,harder and harder,never giving up.That’s what the movie mainly tells us,and what moves me most.Besides the encouraging theme,another part that touch my heart is the father’s love.After searching some background I learn that the hero Chris and his son Christopher in the movie are also father and son in real life.I think that’s a main reason why they play it so naturally and moving.The movie start with a shot that Chris went to pick up Christopher,and every time when Chris stayed with his son,the air became warm and happy.Chris taught his son to be strong and determined when they were playing basketball,and his son tells Chris some jokes when they were coming home.I almost cried when I watch two moments when they stayed with each other.One is when they were sleeping in the toilet of the subway.The father told his son they had got into a cave through a time machine to comfort him,and held him tightly as he fell asleep.When some one hit the door of the toilet trying to get in,he tightly cover his son’s ears in case of waking is when they are in the church at night.Chris had to fix his scanner under the light in the stair,but his son in the bed wouldn’t like to let him leave.Chris told his son he would not go far and he can hear him when he calls.The son finally said,’I trust you.You are a really good papa’.I think it’s his son’s love and trust that give his strength and support him to go through every hardship to eventually get success.Poor and desperate at first,then trying to work hard to get the opportunity,and finally becoming rich and happy.Generally speaking,the Pursuit of Happiness is an ordinary type of inspirational film.But I don’t think it boring at all with so many funny episodes,such as magic cube in the taxi,hippies who stoles the scanner,a beggar who believe the scanner is a time machine and so on.And the soft pleasant background music makes me love the movie more.All of those imply people to be optimistic as the hero when they are going through hardships.Even though there is no delicious food,no comfortable bed,the life still goes on,and you have to believe everything will grow better through your effort.Just as the song in the movie,’Lord,do not move that mountain.Give me strenghth to climb it.’That’s a respectful will to pursuit happiness.Once we go though the mountain,we will find a beautiful garden,only which is our really life,a happy life.‘If you want something,go Although the process was hard ,his persistence brought him success in the end.What impresses me most in the whole movie is the scene where Chris and his son are playing basketball on the rooftop. The son says he's going to be a professional player when he grows up. Chris says he wasn't a good player then, and he probably won't be any better when his son grows up. He wanted his son to do something else and not play ball all day. After listening to his father said this, the son some lost put away the basketball. Ive been as poor as Chris Gardner, and, like him, Ive been poor among very rich people in the Bay Area while trying to work my way up.Chris Gardner is a loving father and failing businessman. He is chosen for a competitive internship at Dean Witter, a stock brokerage. The internship, which offers Chris a very long shot at a better life, doesnt pay any salary. Chris has to live without a salary for six months while risking just about everything for that long shot gamble.Chris is really smart. He can solve a Rubriks cube in minutes. But, hes poor. Poverty, like an octopus, keeps trying to suck him down to the bottom, and make him stay there.His car is towed. His wife walks out on him, leaving him with a five year old son. He is arrested for unpaid traffic tickets. He becomes homeless. He has to rely on a homeless shelter.All this while, he must appear for work in the morning in a suit and tie, and be ready to charm some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the Bay Area. These people take wealth so much for granted that two of them stiff him for cab fare.Having lived through similar experiences, I cringed throughout this movie. My stomach hurt. I winced. I cried. I hugged my knees to my chest.The movie is very accurate, but painful to watch. I hope a lot of rich people, who think that they understand poverty, see it.This movie will be politically controversial. First of all, it doesnt touch the race issue with a ten foot pole. For example, when Chris appears to stiff a taxi driver for fare (it was really the rich white guy who failed to pay), the taxi driver never uses the "n" word. In real life, I think he probably would have.Is the movie afraid to talk about race, or does it not want to? I dont know, but I know that some will protest the movies not shoving race in the movie goers face. Im not one of those people. The movies approach to race -- treating it as almost incidental -- worked for me. As a poor white person, I can tell you that poor white people face the same obstacles Chris did.Second, does the movie sell the message that if you work hard, you will succeed, no matter what, and does that message tell the truth about success in America? I think that the movie is open to interpretation. Some will see it as an indictment of poverty in America. The scene of carefree rich people driving past the line to get into a homeless shelter is pretty devastating. Other people will become angry because they believe that the movies depiction of hard work leading to rewards, in some cases, is too facile. I disagree, but thats what youll hear.Third, is this movie meant to chastise black men who abandon their children? Chris is a role model exactly because he moves heaven and earth to be a good father to his son. This will be debated back and forth.The movie has a big philosophical statement to make, that has been lost on many reviewers, for example, Richard Schickel in TIME.Chris is shown running throughout the movie. Remember the title of the movie: "The PURSUIT of Happiness." Chris places emphasis on "pursuit." Jefferson, when he penned the Declaration of Independence, did not promise Americans happiness, but only the right to pursue it. The rest of the time we, like Chris, are chasing after it.当幸福来敲门英文影评【二】In preparation for writing this comment, which I am compelled to write for reasons which will become clear, I read a fair few of the major critics to see, if on this occasion, they had seen and felt what I had.James Bernadelli suggests this film should be known as the "Pursuit of Richness"; another column I have read suggests that themoney-will-solve-your-problems resolution is depressing and not the message Hollywood (or art in general) should be trying to put across.I ask myself when the last occasion might have been that any of these critics genuinely had to :spoiler: run, under painful, embarrassing duress, from a cab - because they didnt have the money; or when the forces of life seemed to conspire against them so unfairly that they broke down in tears. Spoiler: when your wealthy boss, who you CANNOT disappoint, asksyou to borrow the last five dollars in your wallet, and you know that that money is all you have in the world - to feed your family, to pay your gas.You go through times in life when you feel that things couldnt possibly get worse - and then they do - and then they do again. Sometimes, (like Chris and son at the beach towards the end of the film) you just want to get away from it all, other times you cry. Sometimes, and this is rare, you laugh - because if you dont youll cry. You know that if you let it all become too much, you will sink to the bottom of the sea.Chris Gardner (not the real one perhaps, but the one in this movie) is my personal hero; my shining example; my inspiration - the guy that never allows himself to sink - even when he can feel his shoelaces trailing on the seabed.I realised as I was watching this film that I was watching another me, so I never once stopped rooting for Chris. When he :spoiler: fixes the scanner in the shelter, I felt like I had fixed it.Im still working on getting the job that earns me enough to have a less painful life - when Chris finally achieves it, I want it for him so badly that I feel it in the very fibre of my being.I suppose that it doesnt matter that much that Chris wants to succeed as much for his son as for himself. In a way, the fact that Chris has a son makes this movie emotionally frightening and if (and only if) our basest fears are being toyed with by the director, it is only in exactly the same way that we sometimes look up in to the sky and say - like Jim Carrey in "Bruce Almighty" - is there anything else you could possibly do to me today? In my life, God doesnt appear and explain why he keepstoying with me. The truest belief is in oneself and one must never lose it.I adore this movie and I couldnt be more grateful for its existence. It comes at a time when I need it most. Its message: Keep going - never, ever give up.And so I come back to those reviewers. Money certainly doesnt mean happiness in this existence, but no money, in this cruel capitalist world, can cost you your life. Do not be judgmental of those who want more, it might just be enough to pay for their son to eat, to keep a roof over his head, to keep their dignity. This film is not about rags-to-riches as some reviewers have said. Its not about the American dream either. It is about dignity and integrity and how money (or lack thereof) could easily strip you of both.Chris Gardner never loses either and for this, he is an inspiration to us all.。

His wife, Linda, can not endure the pressure of supporting the whole family and left him, leaving her 5-year-old son, Christopher.
He not only suffered the dead-end down, but also became a single father. Chris has only 21 dollars and could not pay the rent, so he and his son were thrust out of the apartment.

I have watched an encouraging movie which named “The Pursuit of Happyness”.It is based on a true story of famous self-made millionaire Chris Gardner.
He was frustrated with poverty, but with regard to his son’s future and his own beliefs, Chris believed that: only if he works hard enough, happiness will come tomorrow!
You want something. Go get it！
There is an I in "happiness", There is no Y in "happiness", It's an I.
I'm the type of person, if you ask me a question, and I don't know the answer, I'm gonna tell you that I don't know. But I bet you what: I know how to find the answer, and I'll find the answer.
