Square Dancing

The cartoon above shows a group of Chinese old ladies (also called dama) are doing a square dancing in front of a residential building. The noise coming from their amplifier has made the man crazy. Although he has complained to the government, it seems to be meaningless and ends up with the dama's complete victory.

In fact, it is the freedom of senior citizens to dance together. Square dancing is beneficial to them since it can maintain their health both physically and psychologically. Meanwhile, it helps to enrich their spare time. However, every coin has two sides. Such dancing can easily disturb the peaceful lives of residents in its neighborhood. Nowadays, noisy square dancing has become a common social concern.

To cope with the problem, effective steps must be taken. Firstly, dancing groups should control the sound volume so as not to disturb the everyday lives of other people. Secondly, the government also needs to provide the public with alternative spaces in which they can do group dancing. What’s more, rules and restrictions on noisy recreation and activities should be made while there is no need to ban square dancing in public places.

Online Booking of Railway Tickets

Online ticketing system has been launched to meet the requirement of train ticket booking. It is true that the system makes the whole process of booking railway ticket faster and more convenient as well as saving time and energy. But it seems to be easily broken down when there are so many users rush into the website at the same time. Therefore, people vary their opinions on the system.

As far as I am concerned, this system facilitates the process of purchasing train tickets. You can choose the train routes according to listed time schedules and available seats with pricing without waiting for hours in line. But there still exists some shortcomings of this still-new online booking system. Not only does the site crash on a regular basis, but also most elderly and migrant workers have no way to get tickets because they have no access to Internet. What’s more, people usually find they finish the payment but fail to get one ticket. Apart from the related network facilities to be improved and better services to be offered, government should take measures to reduce the demand of railway tickets.
