范文赏析
0).Equality Between Men and Women
At present, more and more people think that men and women should enjoy equal rights. Many countries even have passed laws to guarantee such an equality between different sexes. Accordingly, there are now no longer certain jobs or certain places that are closed to women. The number of business women, female doctors, scientists and leaders is considerably increasing.
There are three main reasons for the improvement of women's social position. First women themselves have been persistently struggling for the equality. Second, men also realize that women are not born inferior to men. Women can do a great many things as well as or even better than men.
Third, the social development has produced a great demand for women's participation in every field.
In spite of these changes the liberation of women has not been completely realized. Prejudices against women are deeply rooted still in some people's mind, especially in the distant rural areas, so our mankind should take further painstaking efforts to really realize the equality.
1).My View on Fake Commodities
Fake commodities can be found, now and then, in the market, which has aroused a lot of public attention. It is reported that these commodities range from foodstuff, clothes to radios, and TV sets and even medicines.
Fake commodities are harmful in many ways. To begin with, they bring about great loss in both properties and lives. For instance, if someone buys some fake medicines, it may not cure him of his illness; on the contrary, it may probably make his illness worse or even put an end to his life. Besides, fake commodities may impair the profit of the manufacturers who produce the real products by making the consumers suspicious of these products, thus causing social problems.
There are many ways to get rid of fake commodities. First, laws should be enforced to punish those who produce these products. Second, people should be advised how to tell the genuine commodities from the fake ones. Moreover, people should not buy things just because they are cheap and attractively advertised. Furthermore, they should be encouraged to report to the relevant authorities in case they have bought a fake commodity. In a word, if the whole society work together to solve this problem, I think fake commodities will have nowhere to exist.
2).Summer Hygiene
The coming of summer means more sanitation problems. In summertime, humidity rises and plants grow prosperously, which provides a favorable environment for bacteria. The existence of disease bacteria jeopardizes that of other creatures, especially humans. At this time, therefore, diseases of all types begin to attack more rampantly.
It is not easy to spend a pleasant and hygienic summer in hot and humid places like Taiwan.
Summertime can be an enjoyable season if we are healthy. Unfortunately, however, unlike bacteria, human beings tend to become weaker in high temperature. Residents on this island are exposed to a lot of diseases present exclusively in summer. Cases of dengue fever, malaria, and amoebic dysentery have frequently been reported in this country. To protect ourselves, we ought to form some personal sanitation habits, such as always washing hands with soap before meals, never eating raw food, and constantly keeping the surrounding clean. Only by so doing can we minimize possible suffering. 3).Ownership of Houses in a Big City in China
Great changes have taken place in the ownership of houses in cities in China from 1990 to 2000.
While the number of state owned houses decreased, that of private houses increased. In 1990, seventy-five percent of the houses were state owned whereas only twenty five percent of the houses were private. In 2000, however, the proportion of state owned houses reduced to twenty percent and
that of private houses increased to eighty percent.
There are many reasons for the great change in the ownership of houses in cities. The development of the economy is the most important one. Thanks to this development, people make more money than they used to. As a result, they can set aside some money to buy houses after their daily necessities are satisfied. The measures the government adopts may be the next incentive.
Nowadays, people can have access to various kinds of loans from banks when buying the house. The large supply of housing may be the last reason. Wherever you go, you can see houses of various designs and sizes available for people to choose.
These changes will have a great influence on both the living standard of the individual and the productivity of the society. People can live in the spacious houses of their own and the government can increase the productivity by using the money from selling the houses.
4). A Dream
A dream is to a man what wings are to a bird. With a dream in the deep heart's core, a man is
spontaneously driven to hitch his wagon to a star. A dream is an inexhaustible source of energy that keeps our enthusiasm burning, and kindles our desire to enhance our spiritual cultivation, refine our character, and upgrade our quality of life. A life without a dream is like a bird with broken wings, confined to a cage and oblivious of what lies beyond the range of its vision. On the contrary, a man with a dream is like a warrior armed with ambition, foresight and gallantry, daring to step into an unknown domain to make a journey of adventure. It is dream that adds fullness, variety, and spice to our life and makes it worth living.
I have a dream. It is a dream that is deeply rooted in human nature. I dream that one day people
of all origins can live in harmony and peace without being discriminated against or persecuted. The bounty of the earth can be shared by every single human being. Mutual respect will guarantee the existence and continuation of the diversity of customs and cultures. Love, sympathy, and cooperation will alleviate the sufferings and disasters inflicted upon our fellow men. Respect for basic human rights will put an end to social injustices and evils. When my dream comes true, all men will be truly equal, happy, and free.
5).Coping with Disappointment
Life would be nothing without failures and frustrations. We should expect everything to carry on smoothly. It seems that in nine out of ten cases, things would go against our wishes. On the other hand, chronic comfort of life corrodes our will power. Only through encountering and conquering defeats can we gain longer and greater satisfaction, which enables us to face another ordeal. Therefore, we actually ought to take disappointment as a matter of course along the life journey.
Those who are brave and wise will view disappointment as challenge and training. If we care to study the cause of disappointment, and avoid falling into the same pitfall, then disappointment can be
a stepping stone rather than a stumbling block. We need not feel ashamed of our failure. We may,
instead, face it realistically, and accept it optimistically. With realism, we will see things in perspective.
When we pragmatism optimistic, disappointment will not be so unbearable. In other words, disappointment need not be harmful, if it can be long borne in mind and serve as a reminder of our future efforts.
6).How to Reduce Stress
As the pace of modern life continues to quicken, many people are in the habit of rushing through life. Some admit that stress seems to be on the increase all the time. A certain degree of stress is beneficial to us, but too much stress is certainly harmful, and sometimes may even harmful to our health and physique. So it is necessary to know how to reduce stress.
There are many ways that can help us solve this problem, but the following may be the most
effective. First, learn to come to terms with yourselves. Don't set a goal that is too high because there are many things in this world that are beyond your reach. Learn to be content to go as far as you can.
Second, learn to come to terms with the world around you. Don't try to change other people or other things. There are people and things in this world that you can do nothing about. So learn to accept them. Third, don't be too interested in material things and don't try to "keep up with the Joneses."
Don't harbor any jealousy, vanity or resentment to others. Be satisfied with what you have. Finally, keep in touch with your friends. Talk with them, share with them your happiness and misery. This will help to make you feel better.
These are not necessarily the only ways to solve the problem, and it is my hope that everyone can reduce the too much stress in his work and study and live a relaxed happy life.
7).My Future
I earnestly hope to lead a healthy and prosperous life in the future. Judging from my aptitude
inclination and personality streaks, my ideal life will be that of a scientist, researching, lecturing, and writing books. As I am from a farming family, I particularly enjoy being close to earth. If I can afford to live a pastoral life in the countryside, I will feel most blessed. As far as social life is concerned, simplicity is what I intend to pursue, so I really don't need too many friends. All these will be mere talk if I am idle now. To attain my goal, I must make a point of training my body and mind. This is a highly competitive society in which everyone is eager to come out on top. That is not only a competition of physical strength and mental power, but a marathon of patience, faith, and perseverance. Life is not all roses, but with what I am being equipped with by the top teachers in this elite school, I surely deserve a promising prospect.
8). A Person Who Influenced You
When I was weary or afraid of making mistakes, I think of my father, for he gives me great comfort and courage.
My father was a farmer. His character traits influenced my childhood strongly. He was a brave young man with broad shoulders. But as I have grown older, my father has also gotten older. Years of hard work in the fields have bent his back and grayed his hair and wrinkled his face.
Father has a deep love for his children though we were very naughty. At the end of 1970s my family was too poor to buy meat for a meal. On the eve of the Lunar New Year Father managed to buy some pork for grandfather and other family members to have. I, his youngest girl, liked to cook.
Seeing Mother add salt to the frying pan, I imitated her and put a pot of salt into the pork. This angered Mother, who shouted and threatened to beat me. Terrified, I burst into tears. Father came in the kitchen and kindly patted me on the head and said, "Don't be upset. There is a limit to everything.
Too much salt in the meat makes it inedible. Taste the meat and you will realize it." As soon as I put a bit of the meat in my mouth I threw it up, because it tasted bitter. This time I was impressed very much with Father's words: "Think over what you will do before your action."
But what happened next summer gave me another strong impression. One day he had just sold all his vegetables and on the way home he heard a scream. Stopping in the direction of the cry he saw a young girl being attacked by two men. I was shocked and trembling all over. Before I could pull my fathers hand he made a dash towards the robbers. He lifted the thin robber and threw him at the other.
Both were knocked down. For fear of being injured, the evildoers ran away. After that my father hurried home as if nothing had happened.
Now if someone praises me for bravery or kindness I could not help thinking: like daughter like father!
9).My Ideal Friend
A friend is better than wealth, but also is worse than poison in some cases. The above sentence
contains two opposite statements and seems to be unreasonable. However, we can explain it as follows: the latter implies all evil friends who induce us to go astray and the former implies all good ones who lead us towards the right way.
My ideal friends are of course the good ones whose goodness is shown below: he has no bad likings, such as smoking or drinking. He lives in frugality. He studies diligently so as not to waste his golden time. At home he honors his parents and loves his brothers; at school he venerates his teachers and sympathizes with his schoolmates. He treats those truly who are true to him.
In a word, all his characters are better than mine. I can follow him as a model. By his precept I am persuaded to go the right way. By his warnings I am aware of the danger of doing a wrong action.
With his help I am free from all difficulties. Indeed, if I have such person as my friend, I shall never fear any difficulties, and I shall never know the existence of the word "failure".
10).The Present My Father Gave Me
When I was young, my father, who always taught me how to be a true man, told me that it is essential to be tolerant in your life whatever happens. And that remains the most valuable present he gave me, I think.
To be tolerant, I need to keep calm when great trouble lies in front of me, however difficult it is to overcome it; To be tolerant, I need to resist the temptation of all kinds of the outside world, even if it is so attractive; To be tolerant, I need to pull myself in times of extreme sorrows and joys, no matter how they affect me.
And this is, in my opinion, the most precious present my father has given me. I have long tried to act like what he said and I am making progress little by little. As Father said, this tolerance will be the basic element I need to be successful.
I'm proud of my father. I'm proud of being offered the golden advice the life.。
