Pictures, tape, blackboard, chalk, exercise paper

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 warming up

1 Free talk:

-- Good morning. How are you? –I’m fine/good/well.

-- can you sing a song? – Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.

-- Do you like English? – Yes, I do.

T: To learn English well, you should watch carefully with your eyes. Listen carefully with your ears. Say bravely with your mouth and think actively.

2 Enjoy a song about face.

T: Listen carefully and tell me what’s on the funny face?

T: On the funny face, there are two eyes, one nose, two ears and one mouth.

Step 2 presentation

1 Play a game: What’s missing?

Review the words: big/small mouth big/small nose big/small eyes big/small ears long/short hair

2 Play a game: Make a funny face

T: I point and other students say. I will ask one student to come here and stick the face. And then I will guess, if I’m right, you say “Bingo”; if I’m wrong, you say “a-o” and correct.

3 Present the main sentence structures

4 Look and learn

Teach the words “tall/ thin”“fat/short”

5 Say the chant together.

Tall, tall, the man is tall.

Short, short, the woman is short.

Thin, thin, the girl is thin.

Fat, fat, the boy is fat.

6 Rhyme time:

a. T:Here comes another fat boy. There are two fat boys. ( show the title)

Where do they meet?

S: In the rain.

T: Great! ( Teach the word: rain. again Emphasize the pronunciation and spelling ) What do they do in the rain? Can you guess?

S: Walk/ jump/ run/ sing/ dance…

T: They bow and bow. (teach the word: bow)

T: What do they say?

S: Hello/Hi/ How are you?...

T: They say “ How do you do” to each other.

b. Read the rhyme with music together.

c. Can you make a new rhyme?

S:…

d. Show Miss Hang’s new rhyme:

Two fat boys meet in the train.

Draw and draw and draw again.

Can you draw? Can you draw?

7 Fun time

a. T: the fat boys can draw. Can you draw? S: Yes, I can.

Teacher says and the student draws the picture. T: What’s this?

S: It’s a snowman.

Teach the word “snowman”. And describe the snowman together. There are so many snowmen. Do you like snowmen? Let’s draw your snowmen!

b. Play a game: copy, copy draw

Students work in the form of little trains. The first student describes the snowman one sentence by one sentence with on Chinese. The last student draws the snowman according to what they say. When they finished, the whole group comes to the front and introduce their snowman together.

c. Summary

Use “but/ too/and” to fill in the blanks.

1 say and guess

a. Students work in pairs. Choose one as your favorite super star and fill in the introduction with the words correctly.

b. Introduce your favorite super star to your partner and let him/her guess who the super star is.

c. Study hard and the next super star will be you.

Step 4 Homework

1 Read rhyme time fluently.

2 Describe one friend to your partners, let them guess who he/she is.
