Installation instruction for Four-Cylinder Hydraulic Tail-lift
This manual is to introduce framework design,performances,installation procedures and warnings of CADRO four-cylinder hydraulic tail-lift(hereinafter referred to as"CADRO tail-lift").
The installation instruction contained in this manual regard all standard production as following models:
CD-QB10/105S CD-QB10/130S CD-QB15/130S CD-QB20/130S
CD-QB15/155SB CD-QB20/155S CD-QB15/155SBCD-QB20/155SB
Please carefully observe the main component parts,technical Specifications,hydraulic and electrical diagram for tail-lift.
General Information
1.Main component parts
The four-cylinder tail-lift consists of five main component parts.
Platform,frame(Lifting cylinders,Tilting cylinders,Cross-piece,Lifting arms,etc.),Pipeline system,Electrical control system and Hydraulic power pack(including motor,pump,control valves,etc.).

1.Confirmation of Installation Dimensions
Before install the four-cylinder tail-lift,please observe Fig.3and the following table and carefully check whether the size of tail-lift are fit for the actual size of truck."A"and"B"in the following table have maximal&minimal values.As for different values for"A",the corresponding values B can be consulted in the installation curve diagrams(Fig.4~6)

2.Machining of Vehicle Rear
Always remove the rear bumper of the vehicle,the spare wheel support(if fitted)and anything else that might get in the way during installation of the Tail-lift(lights,plate support etc)
Should it need to machine vehicle rear part,follow the instructions of Fig.7and adjust the position of rear lights.

3.Installation &Adjustment
Put the frame under the vehicle chassis,adjust the lifting arms and get its axial line completely overlap onto the axial line of the loading platform (nominal tolerance:no more than 2mm).The distance between the platform and the truck body shall be no more than 8mm while the platform is lifted up to the height of the truck floor.At the same time,the platform shall be parallel to the truck floor.Measure the size of A &B,and they should meet relevant requirements.The top surface of the cross-piece shall be paralleled to the truck body floor,and the difference between two terminals of the cross-piece shall be no more than 2mm.In case of any onsite installation problem,the following installation method is available.Disassemble the shafts that connect the platform,the lifting arms and the lifting cylinders.Lift up the lifting arms against the rear part of the truck body.For details about size and spacing distance,please refer to Fig.8.Temporarily fix the lift arms to the truck body,and then adjust the cross-piece as required.Align it to the midpoint of the body and get its surfaces paralleled to the floor of the body.Disassemble the lifting arms from the truck body after the cross-piece is connected to the chassis.Then install the lifting cylinders,platform,tilting cylinders,etc.Temporarily connect electric power to the tail-lift if required,and use the tail-lift controls to cause the cross-piece to turn and aligned with the vehicle chassis.

4.Securing the cross-piece
On completion of the installation procedures above,rest the installation plates against vehicle chassis and tail-lift cross-piece.Fasten the plates to the cross-piece with clamps or by welding (see Fig.9).Drill holes in each plate and in the corresponding side members of the chassis. Secure the plates on the chassis with the bolts provided.There are six bolt each side to secure
the plate,and the nominal hole diameter is12.5max.The strength class of the bolts should
be at least8.8.

5.Installation of Power Pack
The installation of power pack shall provide convenience to repair and keep the power pack from external damages as well.The power pack is generally installed on the right/left side of the cross-piece.Alternatively,it can also be installed under the bottom of the truck body or on the front side of the cross-piece.Now,the whole pipeline system(except for outlet pipe of the power pack)is installed properly,in no need of any other connection.After the power pack is installed and fixed properly,please carefully observe the hydraulic and electrical diagram and connect the power pack and the pipeline system with the hose attached.
6.Installation of Electrical Control Console
Install the electrical control console onto the left/right side of the chassis(close to the rear part of the truck),see Fig.10.The size(K&L)may be customized on the conditions that the tail-lift may be properly operated,free from damage or interference with truck body.

7.Connection between Master Power Supply and Control Circuit
Observe Fig.12and prepare three YC-16rubber-sheathed cables with DT copper terminals on both ends.Run these cables into the power pack properly through the threaded hole.Among these three cables,two1.5m cables are respectively used to connect the main switch and the contactor/the negative pole of the motor and the chassis,and the rest one is used to connect the vehicle starter and the main switch.Connect the control circuit of the electrical control console to the power pack through the threaded hole by the sequence of the numbers marked on all control wires(see Fig.13).

8.Refilling Oil
Open the cover of reservoir oil inlet and pour8liters hydraulic oil into the reservoir after being filtered with200-mesh filter.
9.Adjusting the Stroke of Tilting Cylinder
Remove the articulation locking screws from the follower before adjusting the stroke.
11The bolt is installed on the bottom of the follower (see the figure below).

Warning:Remove the fixing bolt before normally operate the tail-lift;otherwise,the tail-lift may fail to realize its auto tilting function.
To avoid any impact while closing the platform,CARDO tail-lift series adopt tilting cylinders to limit closing position.Please adjust tilting cylinders on completion of the installation of the tail-lift.
Firstly,tilt the platform to closed position,observe the angle between the platform and the end of vehicle body,and estimate the stroke value to be adjusted.Secondly,lower down the platform to the ground for adjustment.Loosen the clip of dust-proof hood and pull the hood toward the cylinder.Then loosen the locking nut,rotate cylinder rod and pull it 5mm out.Make sure both tilting cylinders are of the same length.Thirdly,tilt the platform to closed position and observe the angle again.Repeat above processes until the platform rests against the protective rubber block on the door frame.Finally,secure the locking nut and restore the dust-proof
hood.。
