In 1991 ，18-year-old criminal syndicate(黑 社会）member Liu Jianming (Andy Lau 刘德华) listens to the Han Chen’s (Eric Tsang 曾志伟) instructions and go to the police academy, becoming the police undercover.

Because Liu reset Chen’s record in the police ,so the only person knows Chen’s identity is Liu, and Chen also has some important information which can caught Liu, in the end ,another undercover helps Liu kill Chen, but because Liu wants nobody to know his past ,so he kills the undercover as well.

Because both sides all want to find the undercover ,so they take a lot of action ,and at that time ,the criminal syndicate kills Huang sir. Liu Jianming finally wants to become a good person so he helps the police to arrest HanChen. In the end ,the two undercover all know each other.
