The CSG is a typical Chinese greenhouse(savingenergy and low investment), was used for vegetable production in winter at 32oN-48oN.Now there are 1,250,000 ha in China. (Qifei,2010)

Thickening the north wall (to 8m) blindly in order to improve the heat-retaining performance of CSG
Main problems : insufficient heat storage and low land efficient application (1)日光温室自身蓄热量不足,冬季夜晚往往出现温度过低( ﹤5℃ )现象, 影响作物生长。 Insufficient heat storage causes freeze injury to crops(﹤5℃) in winter.

1. New idea of active heat storage in CSG
日光温室作为中国特有的一种温室结构型式,具有成本低、节能等独特优势, 已成为北纬32o-48o区域冬季蔬菜生产的主要设施,面积达到了125万公顷 (Qifei,2010)。
