Unit 12 Life is full of the unexpected.第1课时(Section A 1a-3c)单词1.Leave点拨leave 在此处做及物动词,意为“留下”。

“leave... +地点”表示“把某物落/忘在某地”。

如:I left my homework at home this morning.我今天早晨把作业忘在家里了。

leave...for...意为“离开某地前往某地”。

第2课时(Section A Grammar Focus-4c)单词sound点拨辨析sound 用作名词,意为“声音;声响”。

sound, voice 与noisesound 含义广泛,指一切可以听到的声音,包括有意听到的和无意听到的。

voice 指说话及唱歌的声音,多用于指人的嗓音。

noise 特指噪音和吵闹声。

如:At midnight he heard a strange sound. 半夜里他听到一种奇怪的声音。

The noise of traffic kept me awake.交通的噪音使我睡不着。

The girl has a beautiful voice.这个女孩有美丽的嗓音。

短语1.wait in line with点拨wait in line with 意为“与……排队等候”。

line 在此句中为名词,意为“队”,此词还有“线条”的意思,另外line还可作动词,意为“排队”。

如:Please line up one after another.请按顺序排队。

链接stand in line 站成一排cut in line 插队2.find out点拨find out 意为“找出,查明,弄清楚”,后可接名词、名词性短语或宾语从句。

辨析find out, look for 与find(1)find out 强调经过调查、询问、研究等曲折过程后才能找出。

(2)look for 意为“寻找”,强调寻找的过程。

(3)find 意为“发现,找到”,强调寻找的结果。

语法过去完成时点拨过去完成时:表示过去某一时间或某一动作之前发生、完成的动作或存在的状态,即过去的过去。

其结构为:助动词had (用于各种人称和数)+过去分词。

表示过去某一时间之前可用by, before 等构成的短语,也可用when, before 等引导的时间状语从句或者通过上下文逻辑关系来表示。

如:By the time we arrived at the airport, the plane had taken off.当我们到达机场时,飞机已经起飞了。

When I got there, they had already started playing football. 当我到那儿时,他们已经开始踢足球了。

He told me he had got the answer to the question.他告诉我他已经知道了问题的答案。

注意:如果两个动作紧接着发生,特别是在包含before 和after 的复合句中,就常常不用过去完成时。

因为这时从句的动作和主句的动作发生的先后顺序已经非常明确,这时可以用一般过去时代替过去完成时。

如:We played football after we finished our homework.完成作业后我们踢足球。

第3课时(Section B)单词make点拨make 在此处用作使役动词,后可与名词、形容词、介词短语和省略to 的动词不定式连用,但在被动语态中,则要加上to。

链接(1)make 表示“做;制作”的意思时,可跟双宾语;间接宾语后移时用介词for 来引导。

如:I made my son a kite.=I made a kite for my son.我给儿子做了一个风筝。

(2)make 通常可以和一些表示动作的名词连用,可以转换成相应的动词。

如:make a promise=promise (承诺);make a record=record (记录,录音);make an answer=answer (回答,答应);make a trip=trip (旅行)。

(3)make 还可表示“准备;布置;整理”之意。

如:Tom, make your bed after you get up.汤姆,起床后整理好你的床铺。

短语1.play tricks/jokes on sb.点拨play tricks/jokes on sb.意为“跟某人开玩笑;戏弄某人”,也可用单数形式表示,即play a trick/joke on sb.。

如:I always play tricks/jokes/a trick/joke on my friends.我总是喜欢同我的朋友开玩笑。

链接laugh at 嘲笑make fun of 取笑;使……开玩笑2.get married点拨get married 意为“结婚”,表动作。

若后接结婚对象则要加介词to,构成短语:get married to sb.,意为“与某人结婚”。

链接marry sb.嫁给某人/娶某人;与某人结婚(表动作)be married (to sb.)(与某人)结婚了(表状态,可与表一段时间的状语连用)句型so...that...点拨so...that...表示“如此……以至于……”,so 后面接形容词或副词,构成so+adj./adv.+that...或so+adj.+a/an+n.(单数可数名词)+that...。

如:This is so exciting a movie that I have already seen it many times.这是一个如此令人兴奋的电影,我已经看了许多次了。

链接such...that...也表示“如此……以至于……”,such后面的中心词是名词,一般可构成such+a/an+adj.+n.(单数可数名词) +that...( 可与so +adj. +a/an+n. 互换) 或such +adj. +n.(可数名词复数或不可数名词)+that...。

如:There was such strong wind that we couldn't go to school yesterday.昨天有如此强的风,以至于我们不能去上学。

注意:若句中名词前有表示数量多少的many/much/few/little 等时,只能用so,不能用such;若little 表示“小的”,则仍用such。
