1.Ss understand what they are going to do.
T: Chris and his friends talk a lot by sending instant
messages and on the phone. Can you tell us what they are doing? Now, please ask your partner questions.
The questions and the table can help you.
2.Ss ask and answer in pairs.
3.Ss show their dialogue in class.
Step 2: Make a new dialogue.
Situation:
After Jeff talks with Chris, he calls Wu Qi. Try to guess what they are talking about on the phone. The pictures can help you make a dialogue between Jeff and Wu Qi. Use the sentences:
What are you doing? What is Chris/… doing?
Are you…? Is Chris/…?
1.Ss understand what they are going to do.
2.Ss practice the dialogue in pairs.
3.Ss act out their dialogue in class. 论他们正在做的事情,巩固本课语言。

设想Jeff和Wu Qi的电话内容,根据图片进行对话,进一步开放对话内容,给学生留有发挥的空间。

学生初步运用本课的词汇和语法。

同时为第二课时做铺垫。
