3. What many happen if people with disabilities cannot get into public buildings?
If people with disabilities can’t get into public buildings, they will not be able to participate in social activities. It may also be very expensive, since we would have to provide extra help for disabled people if they can’t go to these buildings themselves.
2. Why is it important to provide equal access?
It is important to provide equal access because we need the contributions of all people, disabled or not. We also have a responsibility to help people with disabilities.
To make sure that blind people can find their way around our cities, we must provide street stones and markers that help them get where they are going.
1. What does “equal access” mean?
“equal access” means that everybody, disabled or not, should be able to access, or get to, important places in our society, such as public buildings, school, libraries, and shops. It also means that all people should have the opportunity to get education and to find jobs.
Public building must also be accessible and safe.

Doors and entrance should be easy to reach Steps should be covered with a board. Doors… Buttons., phones, etc. should… Glass doors should be marked. Walls and floors … Special places for disabled people…
4.When discussing how society should help people with disabilities, people sometimes say “Though we are different, we need never be separate.” What do you think this means?
What is “equal access”?
Every member of society has the right to education, employment and a reasonable quality of life.
The streets in our cities should be clean, in good repair and safe.
Entrances and public areas… Apartments for people in wheelchairs… Light switches and other fixtures … Bathrooms, kitchens and hallways… Special features and are possible. It may mean that we should learn to live together/that we should not treat disabled people as if they were different or sick/that we are all part of society/that we must include disabled people in society.
The path should be flat and even, and if there are any steps, they should be covered with a board.

When we design buildings, we should keep in mind that there should be apartments that are suitable for disabled persons.
Intellectual access
Disabled people must have equal access to schools, universities, jobs and political organizations.
