Is your label shiny?
你的个人标签开始闪光了吗?
It may sound like a silly question, but it is a relevant one in terms of personal brand management. The labels we are given by others are ones that end up being our personal brand, whether we agree or not.
这听起来可能是一个很蠢的问题,但是它的确是与个人品牌管理有关的一个方面。

无论我们同意与否,其他人按在我们身上的标签最终会成为我们的个人品牌。

Just like a product brand, we each have our own individual brand known as a“personal brand.”
When we go to the store, often t he first thing that attracts us is the “brand.”
就像产品的品牌一样,我们每个人都有属于我们自己的独特的品牌,即为“个人品牌”。

当我们去商店时,通常吸引我们的第一件事物就是“品牌”。

In general, a personal brand is made up of these areas:

Reputation声誉

o Influenced by gender, race, nationality, appearance受性别、种族、国籍及外貌影响?Legend经历

o Style/behavior inside and outside of work工作内外的风格/行为举止?What people see人们所见到的
o In meetings and brief interactions在会议中及简单的交流中What people know人们所了解的
o Results and behaviors data结果及行为数据
Use this article as a thought starter to think about how you are perceived in the workplace by others: your boss, peers and team members. Remember all of those people are your customers at one
time or another!

Do you have the reputation of always being the last one to turn in assignments? Does your leader have to chase you for assigned work? Or do you have the reputation on someone who always delivers on time or sometimes even early? Is your work accurate? That’s personal brand.

Do you dress appropriately for the workplace or do you look like you are ready for the local night
club or the beach? That’s personal brand.

What do people know about your past work? Have you ever left a customer delighted by your work? Have you ever left a customer disappointed by your work? That’s personal brand.

人很满意你的工作?是否有人对你的
工作感到失望?这就是个人品牌。

Are you known to be someone who is approachable and friendly at work? Do you treat other people with respect? Do you listen to others’ opinions even if you are not in agreement with them? What about your behavior outside of work? That’s personal brand.
人们是否认为你是一个平易近人,很友善的人?在与人交往中你是否尊贵他人?当你与其他人意见不
同时,你是否会听取他人的意见?你在工作以外的行为时怎样的?这就是个人品牌。

What about in meetings? Are you confident? Do you share your ideas and opinions even if they might not be the same as others? Do you have managerial courage? Are you an active participant? Do you remember to turn off your cell phone when you are in a meeting to give yourfull atten tion to others? That’s personal brand.

你是否表现的自信?如果你的想法和意见与其他人不同,你是否会与其他人分享?你

What about getting results in your work? If you run into a roadblock in trying to accomplish something, do you give up or try another way? It’s great that someone tries hard, but no one is
really rewarded for trying but not getting results. What type of behavior do you use to get
results?That’s personal brand.
你在工作中是怎样追求结果的?当你在试图完成一项工作时遇到

Yes, I know – a lot of questions. In almost 20 years as an HR professional, I have been asked many questions. However, I believe the most frequent question (in one form or another) is: “What’s the secret to getting promoted?” Well, I have a secret for you: There is no secret!

Movement toward greater responsibility is linked to functional/technical skills and competencies, leadership capability, available opportunities, and don’t forget – personal brand!

So one last question: Is your label shiny? The answer is up to you.
