这是一部有Andrew Niccol导演的一部悬念科幻片，该片主要讲述通过基因工程加工的

婴儿一出生便对他们的基因进行检测，他们的未来以及死因等都差不多都可以通过基因检测确定。
这些发达的科技一方面给生活带来了方便，但是另一方面它却也带来了很多负面影响。
而本片则是通过对文生这一特定人物的发展故事的倒叙，向我们传达影片的思想。
文生这一人物形象很具戏剧性，从他刚出生的那一刻，他就被断定患心脏病的概率是99%，寿命仅为30.2岁，而他的爸爸也没给他事先想好的“好名字”
确切的说，文生的弟弟是基因工程的产物，经过一番筛选，最优秀的精子和最优秀的卵细胞结合。
所以，自然而然的，文生与他的弟弟形成了鲜明的对比。
影片通过设计两个截然相反的人物角色，展现的是“基因歧视”，甚至因为基因的缘故，文生连自己的梦想也备受打击。
如果说我们应该为梦想奋斗的话，那么外界条件也是一个很重要的因素。
