测验题型多益测验在题型上分为听力测验(约45 分钟)及阅读测验(75 分钟),各含100 题选择题,总分各为450分。

作答时,以2B 铅笔划记在计算机卡上。

1. 听力测验:大至可分成四种题型,看图作答(pictures)、问答(question and response)、对话(short conversations)及短讲(short talks)。

(1) 看图作答(pictures)此部分通常有二十题,每一题会有一张图片,受试者根据图片回答问题例如图片上显示五、六个人围坐一张圆桌,题目可能会问“What arethey doing?”,然后听到的选项可能会有“They are eating lunch.”或是“They are studying in the library.”等等,而受试者就要根据图片选出最适当的答案。

(2) 问答(question and response)此部分的题目通常会听到一个问句配三个选项,例如题目是“Where isthe post office?”,而正确答案可能是“It is next to the hospital.”。

答案绝对不会是“Yes, it is next to the hospital.”或是“My sister is in the postoffice.”,因为题目并不是Yes/No 问句,而且并没有问及谁在邮局。

因此问跟答之间一定要有「连贯性」,不能答非所问。

(3) 对话(short conversations)这一部分会听到两个人的对话,之后受试者必须回答三到四个相关的问题,例如John和Mary 在讨论去哪里玩,可能有提到住旅馆或是搭乘交通工具,所以题目可能会问“Where did John and Mary choose to travel around?”(4) 短讲(short talks)通常受试者会听到一至二分钟的短讲,然后根据内容回答三、四个相关问题。
