After hearing about the curse, the king and queen were devastated and tried to prevent it from happening by banning all spinning wheels in the kingdom. But on Aurora’s sixteenth birthday, she wandered into a secret room and found an old woman spinning on a spinning wheel. As she approached, she pricked her finger on the spindle and fell into a deep sleep, along with the entire kingdom.
Aurora slept for one hundred years, until a prince came along and awakened her with a kiss. Aurora and the prince then lived happily ever after.
