My name is Emma and I'm going to tell you all about the stuff we learned in Unit 2 of our English class. It was all about daily routines and talking about our schedules. Pretty neat if you ask me!The biggest thing we learned were the words for different times of day. We started with morning, noon, afternoon, evening, and night. Morning is the start of the day after you wake up. Noon is midday, around lunchtime. Afternoon is after noon until evening. Evening is later in the day after school finishes. And night is when it gets dark outside.We also learned the days of the week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Memorizing those was kind of tricky at first but we sang songs about them which helped a lot. My favorite day is Saturday because I don't have school then!Another big part was learning to talk about our daily routines using phrases like "I get up", "I brush my teeth", "I have breakfast" and so on. We practiced making sentences like "I get up at 7am" or "I brush my teeth after breakfast." Talking about our mornings was good practice.Then we moved on to the rest of the day. We learned phrases like "I go to school", "I have math class", "I eat lunch", and "I play soccer." Describing our afternoon schedules with all our different classes and activities was really useful.In the evenings, we'd say things like "I do my homework", "I have dinner with my family", "I watch TV", or "I read books." We even learned to say what time we go to bed, like "I go to bed at 9pm."Using time words was super important too. We practiced lots of sentences with "in the morning", "at noon", "in the afternoon", "in the evening", and "at night." And we interviewed our parents or grandparents to learn about how their daily lives were different when they were kids.Talking about frequencies was big too. We used words like "always", "usually", "sometimes", and "never" to say how often we do certain things. Like "I always have cereal for breakfast" or "I sometimes stay up late on weekends."The hardest part for me was using the right tenses - like the simple present "I wake up" versus the present continuous "I am waking up." Getting those straight was kind of confusing at times.
