Life experience
He was interested in literature, music and art. He left school at 14 and started to work.
He had much contact with the poor people and came to know their miserable life.
When the First World War broke out, he denounced those imperialist war-launchers in his book, Common Sense About the War.
In 1925, he won the Nobel Prize.
His criticism: witty, biting, and often brilliant
